The Alpha King's Mate

Alexander's POV

I was on edge the moment I stepped inside the room and saw that she was sorrounded by her doctors. I walked up to them and came beside her bed but one of the doctors had stopped me, plead to me if I could step behind for a moment and let them take care of the situation at what was happening. My wolf let out an angry growl making the doctor whimpered.

'Who do you think he was to give order to his Alpha King?' Sneered my wolf.

I glared at the doctor and walked pass him. Standing beside her bed, my heart wrenched at the sight before me. Her body was shaking. The heart monitor beside her bed beeping loudly.

"What is happening to her?" I worriedly asked the doctor beside me whose checking her pulsed.

"I-I...We don't know" then turn to look at he's fellow doctors with a frightening look.

"What?! What do you mean you don't know?! You're her doctors! You should know what is happening to her!" I angrily spat to them.

"That's why we are figuring it out, my Alpha King" said the doctor across from me "We're doing all that we can."

"You better be! Or else if something happen to her, rest assured that all of you will be headed!"

The doctors faces went terrified at what they heard and so they all rambled and panicly switch places, doing everything they can to stopped at what was happening to her body.

I clenched my fist at my side, hopeless for I can't even do a thing to save her. The machine continues to beep louder while her body was still shaking terribly.

"My son!"

My gazed turn towards the door and my mother came in with a buffled look and behind her was my father who had a questioning look on his face.

"Mother,Father" I uttered with my eyebrows furrowed.

They walk inside and came beside me. My mother's gazed went down at the shewolf on the bed whose terribly shaking and her hands instantly went up to her c.h.e.s.t.

"Oh my! What is happening to her?"

I didn't respond to her question for I don't know what will I say.

My mother look me in the eyes, searching for an answer, waiting for my reply.

I just clenched my jaw and avoid her eyes. I don't know if I could look straight in her eyes for if I do, I might not be able to control myself and breakdown. I gulped hard and sigh.

"Father, would you please take mother out..I-I'll just explain this all to you later.." I sadly whispered while my eyes was fixed at my mates face.

"But--"

"Let's go, honey."

My mother reasoned out but father stopped her from saying another word.

"Let's just abide to what he say. For now, just let him be. I can feel that this shewolf holds something important to our son."

I sensed my mother quited down, when he realised what his mate said. And turn their back on me to walk out the room.

As they were heading out, the beeping of the machine go more wildly until the sound goes unto a straight flat sound. I turn to look at the machine and the line there were just showing a straight line and instantly asked the doctors what does it mean but they only gave me a more horrified look.

My eyes move to her and saw that her body had stopped from shaking.

My heart pump fast inside my c.h.e.s.t. I feel like any minute now it would ripped out from my ribcage.

"What the hell is going on?!" I bellowed "Would someone f.u.c.k.i.n.g tell me what is happening on her?" My anger flaring out wildly making them all trembled in fear and no one dares to respond to my question. My eyes switching between the doctors. They just all had a terrified look on their faces.

When I felt that no one really wants to respond to me, I just switched my gazed unto my mate.

'Do something!' Shout my wolf.

My mind is a mess right now while my heart continue to pound hard. My eyes went up again to the doctors and still they wouldn't speak. My gazed passed behind them and saw that my parents are still in the room with a worried look.

And then the machine suddenly beep once again and instantly my eyes went to her. My gazed swept through her body, checking if her body would shake and tremble again but nothing happen. I just heard the machine went back to it's normal beeping sound but my eyes continue to check her body until I saw one of her fingers move. And that's when my wolf wildly stir inside me at what we saw.

"She must be awakening!"

Hope filled me and I went down and leaned closed to her. Checking, waiting for any signs that she will wake up any time now.

"Come on, mate! Open your eyes!" Hopefully cheered my wolf.

Please, wake up now..

I silently prayed.

And then her eyebrows wrinkled and moved. And that's when her eyes slowly opened. She squinted at first but then focus on me. My heart filled with joy when I saw her eyes fluttered opened! My wolf rejoiced inside my head and I just continue to stare at her wonderful eyes.

But then her eyes went wide and I gulped. And then a loud snap goes ringing in my ears.

Did she just slapped me?

I felt everyone in the room had stayed still and no one move. I heard my mother's breath hitched.

What? Why did she slapped me?

I stared at her but she had this look on me that I can't explain. I stepped back away from her bed and was startled at what she did. She scan her eyes around and suddenly the machine goes wild again and she slowly started to shake.

"She is panicking!" Yelled my wolf but I stayed silent.

One of the doctors walk beside her and put on the oxygen mask back to her face and she slowly breath in through the oxygen and then everything in her went back to normal.

I can't stand this..

And so with one more glanced at her, I decided to walk out in the room while everyone was buffled at what happened.

"What do you think you're doing?" Asked my wolf

'I'm heading out!'

"Can you tell me why are you leaving her?!"

'I'm just pissed right now, ok? So just go away!'

I continue to walk my way out and head to the office, instead.

"No!" Roared my wolf "Get back in there, now!"

'I think she doesn't need us right now.'

"What are you saying? You sick mutt!"

'What did you call me?' And stopped from walking.

"You're such a brat! Go get back in there! Can't you see? She's clearly had no idea at what was happening! Dumbass! If you had a good mind you wouldn't leave her alone sorrounded by wolves that she didn't even know!" Angrily yelled my wolf at me.

I guiltily bite my lips at what he said. My wolf has a point. Why did I even think to walk out on her? Why do I even had to listen to my anger instead of thinking about her situation.

'Yeah, you're right. I shouldn't have done that.'

My guilty conscience was already eating me inside, stabbing my heart. And so, I turn around and head back to her.

I should be the one to understand her right now and be at her side.

I hurriedly walk back to the room. Upon nearing, I heard that they were talking to her, trying to have a conversation with her and to lighten the mood. When I stepped inside, everyone in the room turn to look at me and they all went silent. I saw my mother had already sat on a chair beside her, my father behind him and the doctors were at the other side of the bed. And my eyes switch on her and our eyes met.

We stared at each other for a moment while I was still standing on the doorway. I saw my father in the corner of my eye had patted my mothers shoulder and nudge to the doctors to be out of the room. They all bid goodbye to her and piled out of the room. Before my father walk out he pat me on my shoulder and gave me an encouraging look and I just nod my head in response. And when they had all gone in the room, I closed the door behind me.

The room was silent, only the beeping sound of the machine can only be heard. But with my super sharp senses I was hearing all little sound around me. Her breathing, the wind that blowing inside from the window. And her heart that was beating loudly.

"She's nervous" said my wolf.

She tear her eyes from me and turn to look at the window. I inhaled deeply, relaxing my nerves before walking up at the foot of her bed.

I put my hands on my jeans pocket. I was too nervous. I don't know where to start or what exact right words will I say to her.

My wolf paced inside me. Walking up in circles.

"What are you waiting for? Go and talk to her!"

I inhaled once again before uttering a word.

"Uhmm... H-how are you?"

My voice comes out nervously and my wolf let out a laugh inside my head.

"Did you just stutter?" He keep laughing at me.

'Shut up!' I embarrassly said.

Why am I stuttering?

I hate this nerves!!

"I'm fine.. I guess?"

My attention abruptly went on her upon hearing her. She spoke in a soft whisper. And it was gentle to hear.

Her eyes went on me again and said "I'm sorry about what I did earlier. I shouldn't have--have slapped you in the face. It was rude of me to do that.. Ah-I'm really sor-"

"You don't have to feel sorry. It's nothing..really.. It's fine with me." I felt she was nervous and was scared at the same time. Her heart was continuously beating loudly in my ears. I look at her with a concern one and abruptly her eyes went down at her tightly clasped hands.

I slowly took a step beside her bed where my mother was seated earlier and sat at the chair. I was about to reach out and hold her hand but I stopped when I saw that she had tightly closed her eyes. I sensed the fear coming off from her and her body slightly shook.

I felt hurt to see how a simple action could affect her instantly.

"It was all because of the tragic happenings she had been through.." said my wolf "She needs us. She needs someone to get through all of these.."

And that someone is US.

We are her mate. TRUE MATE

That is why we are here to make all her pains go away. We will make her forget all the hurt and sufferings she had gone through. And I will make sure that from now on, no one will ever hurt her. I will make sure those tragic memories of her past will turn into a happy wonderful things. We will fill her up with beautiful and amazing moments.. And I will make sure that her heart would be filled with so much joy.

And especially she will be filled with our love.

Not hesitating anymore, I reached out my hand towards her clasped hands and hold it tight.

"Don't be afraid. I will not hurt you. I will never do that to you.."

She open her eyes and look up to me. I can see her tears are was just on edge threatening to fall down. I squeezed her hand and brought it up to my lips to lay a gentle kiss.

As her skin touches my lips, a current of electricity went through my lips and stream down all over my body. I can't stop myself to let out a low m.o.a.n upon giving her hand a kiss.

'Shit!' Screams my head.

What was that?

"It is the sensation you feel towards our mate. That is how you will feel everytime you touches her" my wolf said happily "And I can't wait to see her wolf!"

I set my eyes on her and saw that she was staring back at me and she was blushing while her hands went stiffed.

"You really don't have to be scared. From now on you are now safe. I won't let anyone hurt you."

She took a deep breath and felt like she would cry any minute now but she was stopping herself to cry infront of me. I carefully sat beside her bed and slowly pull her head towards my c.h.e.s.t.

And then her cries filled the room. She begun to sob. Her face buried in my c.h.e.s.t and I just let her cry. C.a.r.e.s.sing her hair. Embracing her tenderly.

My heart aches along with her cries, how painful she was in.

Minutes had passed, we sat just like that until her cries had run out and dried out I think but she just stopped herself from crying more. Don't want to embarassed herself anymore for crying infront of me. And for soaking my shirt with her tears.

She pulled away from my hold and wiped her tears. And I sat back down at the chair while she composed herself.

And out of nowhere I heard a rumbling noise. I furrowed my brows at the strange sound. And I look at her where her hands is at her stomach.

And then the rumbling sound goes again. And it was coming from her.

From her stomach.

"She needs food. She's already hungry. Go get some food to our mate and feed her!" Ordered my wolf.

I smiled at her and she blushed embarassly.

"It's okay. It's normal that you feel hungry for you hadn't been awake for a week and so your body naturaly needs food right now to gain your strength back."

I can sensed she was confused at what I was saying but I will explain it to her later. For now, she needs to eat first.

And so I stand up from the chair and excuse myself out to get her some food but before leaving her, I lay a soft loving kiss on her forehead and said

"I'll be right back."
