THE BLACKLIGHT

Following chapter's story contains the perspective of Akashi Shinsuke during the year of 2014, Dr Tetsuzō Hiroshi as the narrator.

The class of scientist is settling, I told to pick a capable scientist for the unknown project that I didn't know that time.

The year was 2014, First MH War just ended the government was never expected that war between a few Mutants resistances that can be so violent and bloody.

Mutants/Humans War in my mind is an urban Civil war or Rebellion, when the Mutants were gathered together formed an alliance with the same goal to overthrow the government and taking over the city, they called themselves Resistances or the Revolutionaries, their point of view is Humans and Military soldiers are suppressing the Mutant kind, taking all rights and displays cruelty and violence towards their race, so they have to take their own rights by force.

I don't know who's wrong and whose right; I just mind my business and do my work. The grim world that we know today was completely different in 2014, they were no infection, no zones, no infected Monster's, and no Blacklight virus, Tokyo was a whole city, and the only problem was Mutants.

They clearly displayed they were not the good guys, for dealing with Mutants, the government first called Blackwatch to handle the Mutants, they arrived in small numbers, soon they begin spread the influence towards the civilian, the government didn't care much from that time because the war caused many deaths of Military defence force and normal citizens.

Blackwatch was doing the job extremely well, but they doing it in tyranny way despite they didn't have any governing authorities.

However, I arrived at the MRC's Training Institute for collecting top students for the Blacklight project. I was checking all the files about its candidates until suddenly the door slides from my class,

"Sorry I'm late" A young fellow with black scholarly hair, grey eyes and wears square glasses, apologised while, panting,

"Um... Who are you?" I asked,

He introduced himself as Akashi Shinsuke

"Take a sit," I asked, "Do you know who am I and what am I doing here?"

Akashi nods "I know exactly who you are",

He knew that I was an MRC scientist looking for recruitment but he didn't care less, he just sat on his chair.

Later, I found out Akashi was the top of their class, I checked his assignment's files and reports, and he done all perfectly. I thought to myself that he could be the person so I approached him, at first he turned down on me.

"No I can't do it, I just joined here, I don't think I can do it" Akashi denied my offer.

After heavy and many requesting, he finally convinces to working with me.

Then he and I start working on simple stuff, while working Akashi and I got along as well, he said he was an orphan, came in Tokyo to find a decent job, get his career etc.

One day the Director of MRC named Dr. Maculam asked Akashi and me to come to his office. We came into Maculam's office, he offered us a glass of whisky telling us to sit down, we sat down on the chair, and he was roaming around us.

First question that he asked that how loyal are we with the MRC? We both confused about that question, without thinking any further we said in conviction.

Maculam thought about a moment, then gets up and unhanged his painting, which hanged on the wall, behind the wall there was very highly secure cooling locker, he picked up a blood sample that contained in a test tube.

Maculam first warned us that we are extremely prohibited not tell anyone, not even your neighbour's pet dog. After we both agreed, he explained it's a DNA of a living Mutant and we had to upgraded it for curing any kinds of cancer, for reaching the newly developed Redlight we could kill all cancers or any kind of disease and we are going to doing God's work and that saves millions of lives. He told us Mutants are way more evolved than us, Mutants never effected by any kind bacterial and viral disease, because their immunity system much stronger and more developed than us.

they have a very strong biological system that protect themselves, Maculam's goal is to use that virus for creating a medicine that cure any disease in the world.

He told us, this is for our nation, for our world, the fate of humanity is our hands all that crap. We were fools and patriotic, we just agreed without thinking the consequences. Maculam satisfied, he instructed us to work in the Eastern side of the city MRC main base.

We recruited many scientists from MRC Training Institute, and started working on the blood samples, when we arrived at our new lab, I noticed they were a way to much cameras and security from entry to exit, both I and Akashi didn't noticed any fishy about it.

The last couple of months we studied that blood and Redlight virus within it, at once, looking closely Akashi suggested that dots of Redlight virus couldn't be natural nor supernatural by any chance, instead those are artificially made by chemical, that was absurd as it sound, I completely ignored that nonsense yelling him as crazy, why Blackwatch created the Redlight virus or Mutants or the Redlight for kill themselves? I asked him,

Later Akashi himself the same thought, that was crazy theory. He never spoke of it.

"One day Akashi invited me for dinner to his house, I arrived at their house as polite guest and saw, Akashi was already married with...uhm.. What her name was your mother?"

"Amiya" Akagi replied from the back "Amiya Shinsuke"

Hiroshi remembered, "Oh, yes, Amiya, she was Japanese Defence Force soldier, I remember she was carrying you, when you were one or two years old, you were so cute back then, faired skin, round face, small body, noticeable Caucasian blue eyes.

Hiroshi continues-

I was surprised to see Akashi had a family and a boy, he didn't mentioned any of it, Akashi said he meat Amiya in bar, later they dated about a year, fall in love then decided to married, anyhow I got to see his family.

Another couple of months have passed since we begin researching.

Your father was the first one who were able to synthesized Redlight into something new.

By theory, the chemicals that he created is an evolutionary chimeric mutation-causing infectious agent that can reproduce only inside the living cells of other biological organisms.

We immediately tested it on animals we called the test Farewell 1 it was a success, the chemicals evolves those animals, granted them superior abilities, the project at that time was a success l, every working scientist were happy as we could for our achievements, clapping, whistling and cheering filled the lab with noise. I know that was childish but we were so excited.

When Maculam heard about it, he arrived as quickly as possible to our laboratory. He congratulated everyone for our efforts. He told everyone to take a vacation; at he will notify the government. Maculam putted those chemicals in highly secure area away from any one reach.

I didn't hear anything from Akashi about three or four months.

In some day he called again, asking me to meet, when I meet him, Akashi just sitting alone on a bench dreaded face just look at him, I sat near him, wanted to talk but he didn't responded anything,

After a long silence Akashi dreadfully, muttered "Akagi... My son, he... Got a cancer".

"A CANCER!" Akagi bugs out in shock "I knew got some disease but it appeared in I was a teenager but It wasn't a cancer".

Hiroshi grimy replied "A rare type of genetic cancer, first appeared very early as their age, it was very rare case happened to one person out of thousand, the cancer what he was nearly incurable, it can cure but only 8% can cure from this", he continues "Plus it can hell of money for the treatment".

Akagi remembered about collapses on the floor when he was a teenager

"Do you have any generic problems or Amiya got any?" I asked Akashi,

I was surprised myself hearing that.

Akashi shakes his head in denial, "No, he was the first, the doctor said he wouldn't feel anything about his body, but he would die when he reached middle-age or even less, the doctors said it very unfortunate for a kid" he down his head in regret, "Amiya's pregnant again, we going to have another baby soon, when she heard about Akagi's condition, she literally broken up, I somehow managed to calm her down, promised her that I will find a way, but I don't know what to do".

That time, I felt very sorry for him, He got some really shit luck however I asked he was going to do, he was confused back then, thinking hard what's he going to do, letting you die was out of opinion. He was stubborn as you, I knew he was going to find a way and he did eventually.

When he arrived with a solution, I was shocked to hear that,

that was a the insane step he willing to take.

"What he going to do, was he? " Akagi questioned Hiroshi with a unwanted eager.

Hiroshi glare him for a moment "He was going to steal the newly made chemicals for treat his son's cancer.

That was out of paranoid, I tried to reason him but he already made his mind. I knew those chemicals made for curing cancer plus it can evolving some genetic makeups but testing it to his own son was very crazy and bold move.

One day he secretly slipped in the lab and stole the vial. Next morning news flooded over the media that the Tokyo was under a Biological terror attack, not long after I heard that chemicals we made released on the city.

That time whoever came into a contract first experienced coughing, suffocating, massive blood vomiting, then suddenly dies the whole street filled with hundreds of human's corpses, blood were spread like a storm of blood just poured down the streets.

As the alarm risen the hole area was turned into a f.u.c.k.i.n.g riots, people were screaming, vehicles exploding, human were running like animals saying they were attacked by the dead and huge monstrous things,

Everyone who lived in Tokyo will remember it. The tragedy later called as the Catosphatopic Outbreak, remembered that day. And the chemicals that we made, is nothing but a new even more deadly virus called the Blacklight...
