The Burning Fiend

Three days after the battle, the small island received the visit of Tarosse, Dylin, Cesar and O'Brien. Reynolds was happy to greet them and invited them over to drink wine, Catherine, Koral and Rosarie joined startling Cesar while the three kittens sitting on Dylin's shoulder looked enviously at the beautiful horned girl.

"Lord Tarosse, everybody welcome!" Reynolds said while raising his glass of wine and everyone joined while Catherine drank her tea. Tarosse smiled and said. "Kid we are leaving the Yulan Plane and will go to the Infernal Realm in a couple of days, would you guys like to come with us?" Reynolds was taken by surprise and smiled innocently while shaking his head.

"I'm sorry Lord Tarosse, I really want to go to the Infernal Realm as well but I will wait for a few hundred years for Windsor and Jenne became Demigods on their own and I hope to fuse at least three laws to be able to protect my family before going to the Infernal Realm". His voice was a little regretful but firm and he turned to look at Dylin. "Lord Dylin are you taking your sons with you?" He was curious as he did not really understand how powerful was Dylin.

Dylin nodded and smiled as he answered. "Well I already fused two of the Elemental Laws of Light and with my divine ability it is equivalent to your own standard of fusing three laws before going". His voice denoted pride and his three children purred like spoiled brats making Reynolds chuckle.

Tarosse looked at Catherine and said. "What about you Catherine?" She waited for a moment in hesitation while arranging her ideas and shaked her head, she would not be feeling comfortable while being the only woman in the group. "I have already gained some insights on the aspect of healing and I have hopes to become a Fullgod within a few hundred years. I think I will wait and join Reynolds and his family... perhaps we will met again in a few centuries". Her gentle voice was always calm and no one would be able to guess her gender just from hearing her talk.

The group was not disappointed as they seemed to have expected this result and soon parted ways, the small island was calm again and life returned to the normal routine.

A couple of months later Reynolds's fire avatar was floating over the South Sea making his way towards the new continent as he thought that the time was right to visit the man who had used his understanding of the laws along with his huge reserves of divine power to create a whole continent and wondered how long would it take for it to flourish.

Soon he received a mental message. "Come this way kid". Reynolds followed the divine aura and soon found a mansion made of rocks without any visible joint or crack on the whole structure making him wonder how much understanding one should have on the Earth Elemental Laws to achieve this feat. A great door opened and the familiar bald man invited him in. "Come kid, Third Brother is waiting for you".

He was guided towards a big room with an elegant stone table where a man with red eyebrows and red hair was smiling at him. "Come and sit kid, I am Leylin and I welcome you to my home". His voice was ancient and calm making Reynolds wonder how old must one be to gain such traits.

"Hello Lord Leylin, my name is Reynolds and I am happy to visit. To be honest I gained much while observing your control over the Elemental Laws of Fire a few day ago." His voice denoted excitement and gratitude as his mischievous smile was ever-present.

"Oh, tell me about it. How many laws have you gained entry or which one have you already understood?" He was curious and he seemed to have entered what his two elder brothers would call 'the teacher mode', he noticed that his two brothers were looking at each other while smirking and shaked his head.

"Well I have gained understanding on the 'Fire Elemental Essence', the 'Flame Body' and 'Heat' but I have not yet understood any of them completely. I would said that I have fused 'Fire Elemental Essence' and 'Flame Body' to a 70%, 'Fire Elemental Essence' and 'Heat' to a 20% and 'Flame Body' and 'Heat' to a 5%". He seemed to be talking to himself while his eyes were looking at the roof in a pensive fashion and he continued after a moment surprising the three brothers that were already looking at him with eyes wide open.

"And I gained entry to the 'Mirage' and 'Explosion' thanks to witnessing Lord Leylin controlling the Fire Elemental Laws to build this new continent". He regained his focus seemingly satisfied for recounting his progress like a kid who had just learned to count making Leylin to laugh merrily.

"Well you seem to have understood the importance to fuse laws while advancing, good. Do you plan to go to the higher realms?" Leylin asked looking curiously at Reynolds and trying to figure out if he was more talented than Linley.

"Yes, but not for a few centuries. I plan to at least fuse three laws and hopefully by that time my wives would have already become Demigods, then I will go to explore the Infernal Realm". Reynolds's eyes were shining as if he could already see himself conquering the Infernal Realm making Leylin chuckle again. "Well pay attention, I will show you a few things that might be useful to you". Leylin said happily as a fire snake construct appeared floating on the room.

"This is the complete mastery of the 'Fire Elemental Essence'". He maintained the fire construct for a few tens of seconds to allow Reynolds to memorize what he was watching before the snake dissipated. "I will show you now the complete mastery of the 'Flame Body'". He said as he turned into flames and his body morphed into the same snake that had just dissipated and maintained the form for a while again before returning to his seat raising a finger.

"This is the complete mastery of the 'Heat' law". He said as the space around his finger trembled and space was destroyed due to the heat forming a space rift and again maintained the demonstration before stopping. He smiled at Reynolds's shining eyes and said. "Now this is the complete mastery over the fusion of 'Fire Elemental Essence' and 'Flame Body'". He said as his body turned into flames and morphed again into the snake but this time the aura released by the snake was several times higher.

After maintaining the flame snake for a moment he returned to his seat and continued. "This is the complete mastery over 'Fire Elemental Essence' and 'Heat'". He said as a smaller version of the snake appeared floating again on the room but the space around it distorted with every move of the fire construct giving an even more terrifying aura than the previous example". He smiled dissipating the snake and said again.

"This is the complete mastery over the fusion of 'Flame Body' and 'Heat'". Leylin again turned into a small snake which made space tremble with every breath releasing an even more powerful aura than before and then his voice resounded on the room.

"Finally, this is the complete mastery over the fusion of 'Fire Elemental Essence', 'Flame Body' and 'Heat'". The snake turned into a black fire construct and Reynolds had the feeling that if the snake moved or even breathed the mansion along with him and the two Gods would be destroyed, after a moment Leylin returned to his seat and waited quietly as Reynolds was lost in thought and engraving the different demonstrations in his very soul.

Reynolds could not remember how he made his way home but he was extremely grateful for the help he had received and entered the pocket dimension for a long training period along with his death avatar only leaving his saint body outside to train while accompanying his wives. Time passed and Reynolds's progress on the Fire Elemental Laws keep growing unabated but he was determined to find the point of fusion for the three laws before becoming a God so even with Leylin's demonstrations he was taking his time before reaching the next realm.

After 5 years the fusion of the 'Fire Elemental Essence' and the 'Flame Body' had reached 95%, the fusion of 'Fire Elemental Essence' and 'Heat' had reached 60% and the fusion of 'Flame Body' and 'Heat' had reached 40%. He was sure that he could become a God within a year but he was in no rush, not only because he was still looking for that common point between the three laws as he understood that fusing laws would become more difficult once he became a God, but because he had the innate feeling that he needed to create a divine life avatar before he progressed any further as if something was telling him that he needed to achieve that balance first.

Soon ten years passed by and Windsor finally became a saint magus giving the family a reason to celebrate with a banquet, Reynolds thought that with Windsor's current progress it would take her at least 200 years to become a Demigod but there was no hurry. By this moment Reynold progress on the fusion of laws had grown as well.

For the 'Fire Elemental Essence' and 'Flame Body' he had reached 99%, for the 'Fire Elemental Essence' and 'Heat' he had reached 80% and for the 'Flame Body' and 'Heat' he had reached 60%. But he felt that he was still a couple of decades away before he could create a divine life avatar. His understanding on the aspect of illusion had grown steadily surprising Catherine that complained from time to time about lucky womanizers and how unfair the heavens were.

Another six years passed and Reynolds received the unexpected visit of Linley, Delia and Bebe, he could not remember that they had ever come together to his island before and Reynolds chuckled with glee as he said. "Lord Delia, Lord Bebe congratulations on becoming Fullgods did you two took my idiot Third Brother for a walk?" Bebe laughed happily while Delia and Linley frowned and released sighs shaking their heads.

"Reynolds we three are leaving the Yulan Continent... we are going to the Infernal Realm, I know that you plan to stay for a few more centuries before you go as well so I want to ask you to take care of my family in case something happens." Linley's voice was very solemn making Reynolds blink as he answered. "Don't worry Third Brother, I will stay around at least for another 300 years and during that time I will keep an eye on your family from time to time". Linley nodded in relief but then his face changed when he heard Bebe muttering. "I still don't understand why are you two so insistent of taking Sasha with us if even she doesn't want to come..."

Reynolds blinked curiously in confusion while both Delia and Linley bowed their heads blushing while avoiding looking at Reynolds making Bebe laugh out loud.
