The Burning Fiend

Chapter 73 - Conversations

Leylin's residence was the same dome structure Reynolds had seen before, but now they had exquisite wood furniture along with servants creating a happy and relaxed environment. Reynolds had a glimpse of understanding... perhaps more like an insight on life itself, the true powerful people no longer cared for fame or wealth, and they returned to the comfortable life styles that might not be very different from the one they had when their adventure started.

Beirut lived in his metallic life form castle with his three sons not caring much for the Yulan Continent while Leylin lived calmly on his residence teaching others from time to time. Neither of them seemed to care for fame or treasures... perhaps there was a point in life when all those things are no longer that valuable for them.

He smiled and introduced his family and friends to Leylin and his two brothers, Leylin looked at Talia as an old man looking at his grand daughter and smiled kindly. "Lord Leylin I plan to leave the Yulan Plane with my family and search for adventures on the Infernal Realm". Reynolds's voice was relaxed but his thirst for adventure was clear making Leylin chuckle while thinking. 'Children'.

"Well, show me how much you had improved since last time we met... lets go outside". Soon they were on the garden while Reynolds showed his three law fusion and his two-way fusions with the 'Mirage' mystery making Leylin sigh a little annoyed as he thought how long it had taken for him to reach that same level several millions years ago, he chuckled and said.

"Good, I will show you the complete form of those two-way fusions, the three-way fusion combination of those laws and the complete fusion of the four laws..." He then started teaching while they were left with eyes wide open trying to gain insights, but the more excited ones were Reynolds and Koral as this was a great opportunity for them.

Several fire snakes appeared in succession as Leylin explained which laws formed them and the best use he had found for them, some were better for attack and others for defense while some had better material attributes while others provided the best results if focused on the soul component. The dissertation lasted only a few minutes but Reynolds and Koral remained sitting while engraving the different examples on their souls while Reynolds's divine avatars were making fast improvement on their respective fusions.

Leylin chuckled satisfied that these two youngsters seemed to find insights on his teachings and chuckled as a beautiful red haired woman looked at him with hesitation as if waiting for Reynolds to wake up and ask Leylin her question. "What is it child?" His voice was kind and Windsor decided to ask.

"Lord Leylin, my husband said that the reason that the life in this new continent had grown so fast in the past centuries should be that the Earth Elemental Laws might have a connection with the Edicts of Life, and I was wondering if you could show me an example... perhaps I could gain some insights". Her voice was almost a whisper at the end showing how nervous she was making Leylin laugh.

"The connection between the 'Earth Elemental Laws' and the 'Edicts of Life' is a law called 'Vitality'. By now, young magi, you should understand that the Earth can be considered a mother for all living beings, she has nurturing qualities... plants depend on her to gain nutrients to grow and then serve as nutrients to animal who then die to end up transformed by the earth into nutrients again. Now let me show you what the law of 'Vitality' is about".

Bluefire smiled and released his divine power to gather earth elements from the air and created a sphere that pulsed with vitality, and they all feel like their bodies were nurtured, at this moment Reynolds opened his eyes and stared at the sphere with surprised eyes as if a new world was opening to him, and he soon was lost on the aspect of 'healing' that was a form of 'nurturing', both with a different purpose or application while both seemed to be aspects of the 'Edict of Life'. His 'Life Pearl' started releasing life energy as if in response to Leylin's sphere and Reynolds's understanding on the Edicts of Life started to grow as if a plant was breaking the surface of the earth and met the sun light for the first time.

This surprised Leylin who ended chuckling with amus.e.m.e.nt and a little jealousy at how good fortune seemed to follow this kid, perhaps Lady Luck had taken human form and became one his wives, he laughed inside at his own fantasy. He then looked back at the beautiful red haired girl and found that she was lost in her own pondering as a smile was growing on her face, and he nodded satisfied.

A few days later, Reynolds was returning home along with his family. He was wearing a new leather armor that Lord Leylin had given him as a farewell present while insisting that if he wanted to protect his wives and daughter he must first protect himself. Reynolds could feel that his new defense artifact was more powerful than his own body and perhaps was even more durable than his highgod spear artifact wondering what level of artifact this leather armor was.

As they were floating he concentrated and the leather armor turned into a black long coat that reached his knees and he smiled feeling more comfortable with his defensive artifact new form, he turned to look at Talia who was on Koral's embrace looking at her new chain mail armor with bright eyes making him chuckle.

They soon arrived at the island where Catherine was already waiting for them and Reynolds sported his most mischievous smile yet while looking at her making her take a step back in fright, but soon she was sitting in front of him like a little girl with shinning eyes as he started telling him about the law of 'Vitality' and the aspects of 'healing' and 'nurturing'. She was biting her lips annoyed at herself for not going along with the womanizer and his pets and ended loosing such a good opportunity, she was so lost in her own depression that she did not even react when he petted her head and told her how much of a good girl she was before leaving. It was only a few minutes later when her face turned red as an apple and started cursing him while calling him 'treacherous womanizer' making Reynolds laugh satisfied by her reaction.

A couple of days later Reynolds was floating near Beirut's metallic castle making his way slowly, and soon a voice rang in his mind. "Reynolds, come in". A door appeared on the castle and Reynolds made his way towards Beirut's studio greeting him. "Lord Beirut!". The old man raised his eyes from the book he had been reading and smiled at Reynolds. "Take a seat kid, what are you doing here?"

Reynolds sat and said while smiling. "Lord Beirut, I'm about to leave the Yulan Plane with my family to explore the Infernal Realm and I wanted to ask you about the life on the Infernal Realm and what to expect. Harry and Harvey told me you roamed the Infernal Realm many years ago and no one on the Yulan Plane would be better to give me advice." His voice was calm but his eyes shinned in expectation making Beirut chuckle as he was thinking. 'My idiot grand son didn't even ask a thing about the Infernal Realm before leaving... how could there be such a big difference between people from the same generation'. He released a sigh and shook his head.

"Well there are 5 continents on the Infernal Realm divided by dangerous seas with powerful storms that can kill Highgods if they are not careful while traveling from one continent to another. You will arrive at a random continent and the local army would distribute the immigrants to different tribes or adequate places, you must understand that saints... regardless if they are humans, beasts or any other life form, are nothing but life stock." He took a moment to breath while looking at the surprised Reynolds.

"The concept of respecting the life of others is meaningless in the higher realms and only power matters, as long as you are strong enough you can a comfortable life, otherwise you should hide and live like an animal until you become strong enough. With your current power you can make your own way towards a City and sell your treasures on the Fiend Castle, and then rent a place to live with your family while you all grow stronger."

Beirut continue talking about the Infernal Realm while Reynolds paid rapt attention and asked questions from time to time... a few hour later he was floating on his way back to his island while thinking about what he had just learned, he was wearing a new ring that Beirut gave him as a farewell present along with the most beautiful spear he had ever seen. Beirut had told him that he needed to nurture the spear for a hundred years to make it a demigod artifact but it was already more resistant and sharp than a highgod artifact, he did not understand why Beirut and Leylin care so much for him, but he decided to return the favor if the time ever presented, but what could this two powerful monster could ever need him for was beyond his understanding.

He suddenly halted while looking toward the Baruch Empire and sent his divine sense towards the castle where Wharton lived. "Wharton, I'm leaving the Yulan Plane with my family... I advise you not to increase the size of your Baruch Empire as there are still many powerful deities that may escape from the Gebados Planar Prison on the near future. I'm sure Lord Beirut will protect your Baruch Empire if you keep it like it is now, but if you increase your control on the continent he might not move a finger to help you beside declaring your castle out of bonds to other deities. Be careful and good luck". He then kept moving towards his island leaving a startled Wharton looking towards the Forest of Darkness.

A few days later Reynolds, his wives, Talia and Catherine said goodbye to Yale, George, Marie, Liza and even Harvey and Harry who have come to see them off. Catherine almost vomited blood when Harvey asked if she had enjoyed the lore he had added to her religion making her a true martyr goddess while Reynolds laughed along with the girls.

Soon they arrived at Hodan's place and he received them respectfully, he still remembered how Reynolds had killed 84 deities in a single attack and trembled at the idea of making him angry. He also felt regretful that he had not invited him to join his clan, but he had not dared to do so as the kid lived within the Forest of Darkness making it clear that he already belonged to Beirut's faction.

"Hodan, right? Would you help us to arrange our departure to the Infernal Realm?" Reynolds asked curiously as he had never talked with this man but most saints and the original deities of the Yulan Plane had received his visit to invite them to the higher planes, and he wondered why he had never visited him.

Hodan smiled as he motioned the group to move towards the teleportation array and said as he walked. "There is no problem at all... no problem at all. If you ever visit the Indigo Prefecture on the Bloodridge Continent do not hesitate to contact my Reinales Clan, they would be happy to make friends with you".

Reynolds nodded politely but without really considering the option, still it never hurt to have a friend when visiting a new place... he was just curious as that was the same place mentioned by Lord Beirut as his home. Soon Reynolds, his four wives, his daughter Talia and Catherine disappeared from the Yulan Plane ready to start a new adventure.
