The CEO's Rented Wife

Dongmei, Jimmy and Lina sat inside the hotel room and began with their conversation.

Lina took out her mobile phone. "What is the meaning of these messages? You can't even tell your name. I was so scared," sighed Lina, as she looked at Jimmy.

Dongmei, Lina's mother spoke. "You would have never come to meet us, if you knew that I was coming too. I know you hate me a lot, Lina," replied Dongmei.

Jimmy who had been silently listening to the entire conversation decided to speak too. "Lina, I knew that you would never trust me. I am just an employee at Wang Fashion House. We were very confused.. on how to make you meet us,"

Lina was not being judgmental towards Jimmy, but she hated her mother a lot. She had run away from her family, while Lina and Bob were still children. It was Lina who had to take up the responsibility of managing family's expenses from a very young age. Plus, Lina knew that her mother can never be anyone's well-wisher. She could even sell her children.. for the sake of money. "I don't have much time. If you can tell me everything.. without beating around the bush.. fine! Else, I'd like to get back to my house," declared Lina.

Dongmei interrupted Lina's words. "Lina, calm down. Listen to me very carefully. Do you know where do I work presently? I work in China Vigilance Bureau. This government body investigates all the major economic offences that take place in the country," shared Dongmei. "We have doubts that Wang Fashion House has manipulated a lot.. in their accounts department.. so as to avoid paying taxes to the government. And, the stolen amount is tens of millions of dollars," Dongmei insisted.

Jimmy continued. "It was mom's plan.. that I work in that company.. so that I can extract out as much information as possible. Unfortunately, I happen to be a technical person.. and was given a job in technical department. Only a few selected people, including the top management and Wang's personal assistant have access to all the departments, including the accounts department," Jimmy shared. "China Vigilance Bureau have gotten access to some of the company's secrets.. and that guy, Wang.. the CEO, knows it. He is planning to sacrifice his employee for protecting the company," Jimmy insisted. "Once we are able to prove that.. there are millions of dollars missing from the company's accounts, that guy, Wang, will put it all on you. He will blame you.. for all the money that has been lost. You will be declared a thief.. a fraud," Jimmy continued.

"Hmm! But, how can you be sure that I'm that employee that they would .. err.. sacrifice.. as you said it," hesitated Lina.

Dongmei put her hand on Lina's right shoulder. "Lina, we have been studying this company and its owners from long now. And our sources tell us.. that the day China Vigilance Bureau will get hold of the company's owners, they are going to put the blame of all the stolen money on the employee who's closest to Wang and has access to all his files and doc.u.ments,. And, That's YOU" Dongmei insisted. "They are very powerful and manipulative people. They know that you are ignorant. They will prove you and your family guilty.. and probably.. they will make you vanish from the scene," she continued.

"What does that mean?" inquired Lina.

"They might kidnap you and hide you somewhere," Jimmy said.

Lina was scared. "What should I do now?" she asked.

Dongmei continued. "Just go back to the office.. as if nothing has happened. Jimmy and I will stay in touch with you. You have to do whatever we tell you to do. We wish to catch the management.. Wang and the other guys.. red-handed. And for supporting and helping China Vigilance Bureau in this task, you will be awarded with very good amount of money from the Chinese Government," declared Dongmei.

"I don't know. I am not feeling good about this. There must be a mistake. I don't think Wang, Smith or Aunt Ning can get into this sort of mess," sighed Lina.

Jimmy looked at Lina with a stern look. "Don't use your brain. If you want to protect your family.. just follow what we say.. ," he demanded as three of them walked out of the hotel room.
