The CEO's Rented Wife

Chapter 64 - Confused Lina

Lina took the cab and went back to her locality. She wanted some time to think. She had already applied for a leave for one day, and therefore decided to walk towards the seaside area. Number of thoughts went through her brain simultaneously, mostly related to what had happened with her in past few days -- How Aunt Ning suddenly appeared before her on the seaside, offering her a job along with a big advance payment, devoting time and money towards her training.. when she could have found hundreds of girls who would have already been trained in all the required aspects.

Lina sat on the bench on the seaside lost in her own thoughts. 'Should I talk to Mr. Wang about this? But, what if.. he is the villain? He is so powerful and resourceful.. he can do anything to me,' Lina thought. 'But, he does not seem to be a bad man. He is disciplined, over organized and strict about his work, but I could not see deception in his eyes,' Lina thought, as sound of water waves grabbed her attention.

While Lina sat on the seaside, totally ignorant of what was happening at the company.. and at her home.. little did she know that Wang had sent her grandmother.. a bouquet. Lina had lied to Wang that her grandmother was not well, and Lina needed to stay at home to look after her. Robin was already on his way towards Lina's home.

At Lina's house...

Robin knocked on the door of Lina's house. Grandmother opened the door and found the man.. holding a large bouquet.

"Ahmm! Are you Miss Lina's grandmother?" asked Robin.

"Yes! Are these flowers for Lina?" Grandmother inquired.

"No! These are for you. Mr. Wang, CEO of Wang Fashion House, has sent this bouquet for you. He happens to be Miss Lina's boss. As soon as Mr. Wang came to know about your ill health, he asked me to deliver this bouquet at your house," shared Robin as he smiled at the old lady.

"My health? What happened to my health?" Grandmother was surprised. 'What is happening' she thought. "Anyways! Thank you for the bouquet. Please tell Mr. Wang, that I loved the flowers," she smiled as she took the bouquet from the driver.

"Good to see you being so positive about your health. My mother always told me to take every problem for granted and act as if nothing was wrong," laughed Robin. "Miss Lina had asked for a leave for today.. to look after your health. Is she at home?" Robin doubted.

"What? She is not with her boss?" Grandma was surprised. Lina had told her grandmother that she was to travel with her boss. Grandma's anxiety rose suddenly. She desperately needed to talk to Lina.. but first, she had to get rid of her boss's driver. "Err.. Yes, she was at home a few minutes back. She's gone to the pharmacy to get my medicines," lied grandmother.

"No problem! Please tell her, to reach Mr. Wang's mansion on time.. tomorrow. Have a good day!" greeted Robin as he began to walk back to the car.

Grandmother shut the door, and placed the bouquet on her lobby's table. 'What is that girl upto now? Why did she lie to me. She even lied to her boss,' grandma thought as she took out her mobile phone and dialled Lina's number.

Lina, who was too lost in her own thoughts did not pick up the call. This made grandmother more anxious. She went to Bob's bedroom and told him everything.

Bob doubted that Lina might have been kidnapped by the same Chinese Mafia, who had kidnapped him a few days back. He, hurriedly, walked out of the house to talk to Willie about this.

At the seaside..

Lina, who still sat at the bench, had made up her mind. She thought that although Dongmei did not love her, but still, she was her mother. She would never deceive her. And, there was no reason why her mother would lie to her. There was nothing that Dongmei could get from Lina.

Lina decided to follow Jimmy and her mother's instructions. She would resume her job and carefully observe everything that is happening around her, and behave as if nothing has happened, and wait for Jimmy and her mother's messages. If Wang, aunt Ning and Smith were the culprits, she would make sure to teach them a lesson they would never forget their entire life.

Lina looked at her wrist watch. She thought for a moment and decided to head towards her office. She could, atleast, devote half a day at her workplace. She could not afford to loose her job, incase, Jimmy and Dongmei were lying.
