The CEO's Rented Wife

Chapter 65 - Deal with the Hollywood's Topmost Actress

Lina took the cab, and visited the company as soon as she could. The shooting team was already gone to the places chosen for the catalog shoot.

Lina walked inside the lobby. Today, the company's atmosphere was very different. Everyone was busy gossiping about something very important. Lina walked to the receptionist to know more about what was happening.

Today was one of the most important days for the company- Wang Fashion House. After months of conversations, negotiations and convincing, the company's management was finally able to sign Miss. Sparklet Johnson, Hollywood's highest paid actress, as their brand ambassador.

This was a very big achievement for Wang Fashion House, and a huge setback for their rivals. All the leading global fashion companies and brands wanted to sign a contract with Miss. Sparklet Johnson, but it was Wang's amazing communication skills and his huge resources at disposal, that finally led to this deal. While Wang Fashion House was already a market leader, but this deal could further increase their market share to a great extent, thereby, literally eliminating all their competitors from the markets. This was a master stroke by Wang.

And today was Miss. Johnson's first visit at Wang Fashion House, as a brand ambassador.

Suddenly, everyone's eyes turned towards the lobby's entrance..

The echo of designer heels cl.i.c.k.i.n.g across polished granite tiles pierced the atmosphere of the building lobby. It was the confident stride of a gorgeous young woman who to look at her, exuded contemporary class and an urban sophistication. She stepped into the lobby's elevator as the doors slid open and with a perfectly manicured finger, pushed the button for the twenty-second floor- the one with Chunhua's office on it.

Everyone in the open-plan office greeted her as she sauntered past countless bays of fashionably clad employees.. but none could match the looks of that woman. The lady in turn wished each of them a good afternoon, never once forgetting to give her infectious smile. She was none other than.. Hollywood's topmost actress.. Miss. Sparklet Johnson.

The actress walked towards the door of Chunhua's office.

"Good morning, Chunhua," said Miss. Sparklet as she arrived at the imposing oak door of the corner office.

"Good morning, Miss. Johnson," chirped Chunhua as she looked up from her laptop screen. The door to her office opened and Sparklet walked in.

Chunhua stood up from her seat, to show some respect to the celebrity and respectfully gestured her to come in and sit down as she continued her phone call. "No, we didn't hire him. He's a pompous, opinionated fool who doesn't know the difference between couture and cardigan." Chunhua spoke on the phone.

Ms. Johnson have had a few conversations with Chunhua before as well, and she loved her sassy attitude. And this was the reason why everyone in the fashion industry both loved, and at the same time feared her. The actress smiled to herself as she placed her sky blue Michael Kors handbag on a chair next to a samples clothing rack.

"Listen, I have to go, someone very important has just walked into my office," replied Chunhua in a dismissive tone into the handset. An impressed Ms. Johnson raised an eyebrow as she settled into the seat. Chunhua sighed as she replaced the phone and slumped back into her plush office chair.

"Clarissa, sweetie," Chunhua said into the intercom unit on her desk. "Could you please convey Mr. Wang, that our guest is here. And, as soon as Mr. Wang comes here, please ask Wang's personal assistant, Lina, to bring us three espressos? Thank you." She turned back to her celebrity guest and smiled. "Welcome, Miss. Johnson. Your presence has boosted the confidence of everyone at Wang Fashion House. Our chief executive officer, Mr. Wang, will be here any moment," smiled Chunhua.

Ms. Johnson smiled back. The actress's past few meetings, before the agreement, with the topmost management of the company had made her aware of all the gossips and fun news related to the company's employees. Plus, she had become friends with Smith and Chunhua. "So, how is everything at work? Did you propose your CEO.. Wang yet?" laughed Ms. Johnson.

"What? Who told you about that?" Chunhua was shocked that her guest was privy to that particular piece of information, but she shouldn't really be surprised. Every scrap of gossip made it's way through the management's office at some point.

"Haha! The power of observation, darling..!" laughed Sparklet.

"Jesus, Em," Chunhua mumbled, embarrassed. "I have been trying to get close to him.. but, his heart is mostly into his work. Lets see what happens in future," hesitated Chunhua.

"Urgh. Men are pigs!" Ms. Johnson spat out, before looking apologetic. "I'm sorry, sweetie. Its just that it's not been that long since I broke up with my boyfriend," shared the actress.

Chunhua decided to lighten up the moment a bit. "It's fine," she replied. "I'm giving up on men. I think I'll just become a lesbian instead." laughed Chunhua.

Sparklet and Chunhua were still laughing when the door to the office flew open and Wang walked inside the office. She was followed by Lina, who tottered in carrying three small coffees on a silver tray.
