The CEO's Rented Wife

Chapter 77 - Zhang Wei's guest

Inside Avanti Clothing Factory

The owner of the workshop, Mr. Zhang Wei sat in his workshop, as he gave a blank look at some of the drawings that were placed before him on a table. Wang had requested for some prototypes. It was only Zhang Wei's family responsibilities and his love for Wang that still made him work at this age.

-----

Zhang Wei was a seventy five year old man. He had already married three of his children, and was planning to get his last son married as soon as possible. Due to his old age, he was no longer able to work to his full capacity, and his factory - Avanti Clothing Factory, had now turned into a small workshop. Wang had gotten rid of Zhang Wei's biggest worry by taking up the responsibility of handling all the expenses of Zhang Wei's son marriage.

-----

The old man smiled as the thoughts of his past, the times when Wang used to live in the workshop, passed through his brain. While he was still engrossed in his thoughts, one of his employees entered the workshop.

"Ahmm! Mr. Wei, the guest is here," informed the employee.

"Nice to hear that! Please escort him in with all the respect," smiled the old man. The very mention of the guest had filled him with new energy. He cleared the clutter from his table, took out a game of chess and ordered for two glasses of lime soda from his workshop's canteen.

The guest was the only person, besides Wang, in this world whom Zhang Wei loved to gossip with. He was Wang's grandfather, Mr. Zong. He happened to be his old friend.

As soon as Mr. Zong entered through the workshop door, Zhang Wei stood up from his seat and walked towards the guest and gave him a tight hug. Both of them smiled and laughed as they gave tights hugs to each other.

"Welcome! Welcome, Zong! I am so happy that you've finally remembered your old friend," smiled Zhang Wei. "Please, have a seat," requested Zhang Wei.

"Thank you Zhang! You look fit," praised Zong.

"Come on! Don't lie. Your old habit of making fun of me hasn't gone," laughed Zhang.

"I am not lying. Two things have always remained the same in this workshop. First is the clutter.. second is your good looks," smiled Zong.

"Haha! You are forgetting something. There is something else that never changes. Your habit of losing the game of chess from me," laughed Zhang Wei.

"Haha! That is going to change today. I see that you've already set the game board. Looks like you are too eager to taste a defeat," giggled Zong.

The two friends started with their game of chess, as they talked about the old times. Soon, they were served with fresh lime sodas. A few minutes later, Zong decided to inquire about Wang from Zhang Wei.

"So, how is the work going on?" asked Zong.

"Good enough to help me with all the daily needs," answered Zhang as he took his step on the chess board.

"Does Wang visit you often?" Zong asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes. But, the frequency has reduced. You might already know that he has expanded his work in all the major countries. But he still finds time to visit me. He is a very hard worker.. just like his grandfather," praised Zhang.

"That is exactly what raises my anxiety levels. I don't want him to pass his life like this way. He needs to maintain a balance. I want to see him have a family. He has already spent so many years alone. I can't see this anymore. I am really worried for him. I want to see him getting married," sighed Zong.

"Zong, the next generation is very different from us. They walk on their own chosen paths. They take their own decisions. You can't force him to marry," explained Zhang Wei.

"I think young people need to listen to the old and experienced members of their families. This is not a good trend," rebuked Zong.

"I am sure that even if the trend changes.. even if the entire world changes, Wang will not change. He is a stubborn man.. just like his grandfather. Think of your habits when you were young. He is very similar to you," winked Zhang Wei.

"I don't want to think about my life. I have made mistakes. I don't want Wang to make them too," sighed Zong. "Zhang, Wang considers you as his family. You are one of the very few people that Wang loves so much and is genuinely attached to. After he left the home, it was my good luck that he started working at my good friend's workshop. If it wasn't for you and your care for Wang, I would have died long back. It is because of you that I am able to sleep peacefully. Thank you so much," smiled Zong as he placed his right hand on Zhang's shoulder.

"Wang is like my son. I did what I could do. You don't have to thank me for that. I am against your methods of playing games so as to pressurize Wang to marry," pointed out Zhang Wei. "I don't want Wang to marry.. just for the sake of marrying. I want him to take his time and make a wise decision. And I am sure he will," assured Zhang.

"Yes. I understand what you mean. I want him to find the best girl as well. I wish he would find his soul mate as soon as possible," smiled Zong.
