The CEO's Rented Wife

Wang had been receiving many calls that were supposed to be forwarded to Smith. He had reminded Lina, many a times, to connect his call to Mr. Zhang Wei, the owner of Avanti Clothing Factory. But, he got no response. Wang, finally, lost his patience after having received a call from Savoy's Kitchen. This was getting too much for him.

Wang got up from his chair and hurriedly walked towards Lina's office. Lina was busy on the phone. Smith had called her to tell her that all the calls that were supposed to be forwarded to Wang had been forwarded to him.

Their conversation was interrupted by Wang who entered Lina's office all of a sudden.

"Err.. Mr. Wang, you look upset. D.. did something happen? Lina stammered.

"You are asking me.. 'did something happen'? Are you serious?" asked Wang. His expression clearly showed is anger and frustration.

"I am very sorry. I will immediately connect you to Mr. Zhang Wei. I had totally forgotten about it," Lina apologized. Wang's angry face was bringing shivers down her spine.

"I've had enough. This is ridiculous!" yelled Wang as he walked towards the door of Lina's office, walked outside and slammed the door behind him.

"Oh my God! I have done it again. I have somehow pissed off everyone again. Mr. Smith is angry on the phone, and Mr. Wang just slammed the door behind him. What am I going to do?" sobbed Lina as she called Jimmy and requested him to come to her office.

Jimmy had no other choice but to reach Lina's office immediately. He was the head of the technical department. If he did not set the things right, Wang was going to hold him responsible for everything.

Lina heaved a sigh of relief after seeing Jimmy enter from the office's door. "Finally, you are here! Help me please! God has sent you for me," she thanked Jimmy for coming to her office.

"God didn't call me, you did," Jimmy replied casually. "What is the problem?" he asked.

"Please help me find the excel file that had all the symbols on it," requested Lina.

Jimmy looked at Lina's computer and searched for the file. "There it is! Why can't you apply your brain? You could have used the search function of the computer," explained Jimmy.

"Thank you so much. What should I do now? I've mixed up all the calls," sighed Lina.

Jimmy had no other option but to help Lina. If Lina got fired, that would create even more problems for Jimmy. "Tell me about the calls that you received, one by one. I will call them and forward them to the correct departments," he said.

Lina shared all the calls that she had received from the time she started working on the calling machine. Jimmy apologized to each one of them and forwarded their calls to the right departments. He connected Wang's call to Mr. Zhang Wei and helped Lina order Smith's lunch from Savoy's Kitchen.

Lina heaved a sigh of relief. Although, she was scared of Jimmy and doubted his intentions, it was him who had saved the day for Lina.

Lina smiled at Jimmy. "Thank you so much. We might not be related by blood line, but you really helped me like a brother," thanked Lina.

"I was helping myself. If you are fired from the job, it would have created many problems for me," Jimmy replied.

"I visited aunt Ning this morning to deliver the new footwears. She had warned me not to commit any more mistakes. I know that she is in touch with you and would definitely ask about my performance at the job. Please, do not tell her what just happened today," Lina requested.

"No problem! I would not share anything with her. I just want you to be in touch with me and Dongmei. A little carelessness from your part can spoil the entire mission. Be in touch with me on your Whatsapp messenger. And, no more silly mistakes please," Jimmy instructed.

"I am trying my best, but this machine is so complicated," Lina expressed her helplessness.

"Why do you keep forgetting what Ning has been teaching you from so many days? Just focus on Wang! Make sure that you do not commit mistakes that are directly related to him. No one else, other than Wang, can throw you out of the company without Ning's permission. Smith might have been angry at you, but he knows that you are here for Wang. Other members of various departments don't dare to say a word against Ning," explained Jimmy.

"Thank you so much. I won't miss any of your calls from now on," Lina smiled.

Jimmy walked out of Lina's office with a wicked smile on his face.

Totally unknown to both of them, a third person had been standing outside Lina's office observing everything that was happening. It was Chunhua.
