"Do you have any more questions?"

"No, you basically explained everything. Thanks, I guess."

"Come again! It gets lonely sometimes."

"If I have more questions."

"Take care!"

So Rhaxtyx left his realm of consciousness. They were still in the place where they found the c.h.e.s.t. No light came through here so he had no way of telling the time. All he saw was that Angeline and Badgey was sleeping

"They are still sleeping huh? Then let's see how much time I've been gone. Is it the same or is there a time difference?"

He got up and began walking towards the entrance of the cave. Checking time was not the only reason for what he was doing now. He also wanted to check if those mercenaries were still on their tail. And wanted to keep trying to cast the new spell he got from the Gleam Beak.

'Oh right, I should've asked that too.'

Once he reached the entrance, he realized it was dawn. He's been gone for almost a day. Angeline and Badgey too. All three of them were so tired that they've been gone for this long. Rhaxtyx thought it was worth it though. His understanding towards the law of magic got deeper and with a bit of practice, he would get a new card up his sleeve if he ever needed.

He looked around to see if they were safe from pursuit. They were at the foot of a hill and they were nearly out of the forest so there weren't many trees. Looking into the woods, he could not see anyone. Of course, their pursuers were professionals but Rhaxtyx trusted his senses, he also focused his mana in his eyes to have a better vision just to be sure. People at the level of those mercenaries could not hide from his eyes like this.

'Looks like we are safe. That's a relief.'

Just as he decided to start practicing that new spell, he heard Angeline's voice echoing from inside.

"Rex?"

'Oh she's awake. Practice later then.'

He returned inside and saw Angeline still rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. When she saw him, she a tiny smile appeared on her face relieved by the fact that Rhaxtyx was okay but she quickly erased it lest he poked fun at it.

"*Yawn* Good morning Rex. Where have you been?"

"Just went get some fresh air. It looks like we are free from our pursuers."

"That's a relief. So, what do you want to do now?"

"You're the one from this world, you tell me."

"I think it's better to get away from Vulca City. And our closest option is Leilo."

"Do you think it is a good idea to go there? I mean we can try to enter with our Disguise on but there might be counter measures for that."

"Leilo is a military city but it is not that advanced, at least not on the level of those central cities. It is still bearing the border."

"You might be right but still, we are talking about a huge military base here! If we are caught, we are screwed!"

"I think it is fine for you. I'm the one they are searching for."

"You remember the notice in your village? They are looking for a white haired red eyed man! Look at my face and tell me I'm not wanted."

Angeline looked at Rhaxtyx's eyes and spoke with a serious tone.

"You're right. But I still don't think we'll be caught. Like I said these areas are pretty far out so cities generally don't have magical defenses."

"But is it okay to be this sure?"

"I've been to Leilo once. That time I saw the security was not that strict with new arrivals. They just looked at your baggage and searched you for anything suspicious."

"I see. I don't think we have much choice in the matter anyway. Some good sleep would be nice. New clothes too."

"And I want to have a bath as well."

"That would be nice."

"It is decided then. Let's go to Leilo City!"

They carefully exited the cave and went to look for breakfast. Angeline took a moment to confirm their surroundings and planned a route in her head. She didn't know where they were exactly but she guessed it wouldn't take long to reach Leilo. They ran a long distance unknowingly and it surprisingly it worked out for them.

Rhaxtyx kept on doing his practices for his new spell every day.

'Why doesn't it work!? That creature just screamed and it produced a sonic boom. So why doesn't it work for me? Do I have to make a chant for this as well? If so does one line cut it or can I add lines to it? Hmm let's just try.

{Go fast, at the speed of sound, sonic boom! }

With a final shout, a shockwave launched Rhaxtyx and the nearby rocks. Rhaxtyx was stopped by a tree but hit his head in the process.

"First try huh? That's good. But I need to do something about this. If I don't, people nearby will get hurt as well. But I can practice that layer, I guess. It's almost dawn. And we will hunt some wild and magical beasts."

That's right. Even though they are nearby Leilo City, they would not be able to do anything without any money. They scouted nearby and discovered some Gleam Beaks. So they decided to hunt them to get their monster cores and their beaks and sell them. They would not earn a lot as Gleam Beaks aren't that hard to hunt in a group. As a result they thought they would earn enough to buy a carriage and rent a roof to stay under.

He returned to camp and saw Angeline was ready to go. She looked at him while fixing her sword to her waist.

"What was that sound?"

"Oh that? Practiced another spell that's all."

"Oh really? I assume you're ready then?"

"Absolutely. I can't get enough of killing those birds!"

"You are overreacting you know?"

"It's fine. Just having fun. That's all. Anyway let's not waste time."

"Right."

They hunted for 3 days. They hunted not just Gleam Beaks but wild beasts as well. Their raw materials could be used by various craftsman as well so they could sell them as well. The claws of wolves and bears, as well as their furs. They made a bag using the fur of bears and wolves they hunted to carry the raw materials of Gleam Beaks'. They went towards Leilo while hunting and after 3 days, they were really close to the city. This hunt did not only yield them materials, they also polished their team work as well. Rhaxtyx learned a bit of sword techniques from Angeline to polish his fighting skills and focused on absorbing the knowledge from 'the Shadow Arts' in the nights.

Angeline as well, trained with her sword while teaching Rhaxtyx and polished her healing spells as well as trying out a few control-type spells she used to read about. She tried the water whip but it was a bit difficult for her to fully comprehend the motions and the chant.

After their four-day hunting and camping they were finally in the line for entrance to Leilo City.

"Haah. I finally will be able to have a hot shower!" (Angeline)

"Yeah I want one as well. But we should get some new clothes I suppose. These are not worthy for a wash, nor they are salvageable."

"Yeah we can do that. But before anything, we have to sell these."

As she said that she shook the big bag that she was carrying. It easily weighed 20-30 kilos and was as big as a horse. Even the guard at the gate was shocked by this. He was sweating profusely while he did the procedure.

"U-um. What's your purpose of visit?" (Guard)

"To sell these raw materials of course what does it look like?" (Angeline)

"R-right. Umm. May I ask, what's in the bag?"

"Oh see for yourself. Go ahead."

Angeline opened the bag and showed all the beaks and various furs of animals. Wild and magical alike. This shocked the guard greatly and after asking for them to wait, ran inside and returned with a sergeant.

"Greetings and welcome to Leilo City. You must be adventurers based on your looks; am I wrong?" (Sergeant)

"Correct. We wish to enter the city and sell these raw materials." (Angeline)

"That can be arranged miss. This way."

Sergeant led them forward. Leilo was not that big of a city but it had formidable strength because it was a military state. The city lord here is a former military officer sent from the capital. The title of city lord is usually hereditary in cities like Vulca but cities like Leilo where military power is focused is different. City lord is sent from the capital. They usually choose people who cannot fight anymore but sometimes volunteers are sent as well. To be sent to a city like this, you have to have an impressive record. Like no criminal conduct or not even the slightest bit of corruption.

Leilo's streets were wide enough to let carriages pass one by one. Not at the same time but still wide enough to let one carriage to wait while another passes. There were soldiers everywhere, as one would expect, and patrolling every corner in the city and town criers were shouting various news around the kingdom.

"The Dynasties are pushing forward! This could be a sign of all-out war!"

"Ambassadors from Hillan Imperium are on their way to further the peace talks!"

Sergeant led them towards a tavern at the center of the city. It took them about 30 minutes to arrive. When they were in front of the gate, sergeant took his leave.

"I'm sorry but this is as far as I can go. I hope you have a good day miss. I will send someone to pick your baggage up later. Ah, for a good price too."

"Umm thanks, I guess. Come on Rex, let's go in."

"Right. Let's."

'Something is strange.' (Rhaxtyx)

His suspicions were proven right when they entered inside. There were no patrons in there, not even the inn keeper. After they walked towards the middle of the room, other presences appeared. These were all cloaked figures, even their chins were covered. Rhaxtyx took his position to attack but these figures' next movements shocked him and Angeline.

They all kneeled and at the same time said:

"Greetings, Princess."
