Astaroth brought the Strauss family with him to Magnolia. On the way, he taught Mira all he knew about Take Over magic and what to do to master his powers. It consisted mainly of long meditations.

While they were at a Fairy Tail day, both Mira's brother and sister, Lisanna and Elfman, asked to see him in private during their elder sister's meditation.

By spending time together, the two young Strauss began to see Astaroth as a senior brother. He was cold and unsociable, but he cared for them and gave hope to their older sister, which was enough for them.

Elfman: Astaroth we would have a service to ask you.

Lisanna: Would you like us to teach you the magic Take Over.

Astaroth was not really surprised by their request. He knew that it was a way for them to feel closer to their sister and to prevent her from thinking she was alone.

At this thought an image crossed his mind. It was a young child with black hair and a kimono of the same color. With him stood three people, a beautiful woman and a handsome man who were holding hands and an old man with his left hand resting on the boy's head. They all had a smile and seemed happy.

A spark of sadness passed in the face of the swordsman. He repressed it quickly before his companions could see him.

Astaroth: I'm willing to teach you what I know, but what I can teach you is limited because I do not use Take Over magic. It will take a lot of work and effort to master it yourself.

Their new teacher taught them everything he knew about the theory of magic they wanted to learn. They arrived quickly at the practical training.

For starters Lisanna and Elfman had to absorb the soul of an animal. Their instructor brought back an animal that matched their respective personality. For Elfman he brought back a bear because he could make strong attacks while having a good defense, as for Lisanna, he brought back a leopard which will allow him to increase his agility and complete the skills of his brother.

After absorbing the souls of the animals, the two young Strauss began to meditate. The souls of animals were much less powerful than that of the demon of Mirajane, so it would not take them more than two days to dominate the souls they had absorbed.

Two hours later

Astaroth sits against the trunk of a tree. He was always watching his two apprentices, who continued to meditate, if all went well, they would wake up tomorrow morning.

Astaroth: You can come out of your hiding place. I know you're behind me.

At that moment, Mira came out of one of the bushes behind the swordsman. She approached him and sat against the same tree. She had a smile on her face as she watched her brother and sister meditate.

Mira: Even with your eyes closed, it seems like I can not surprise you. I really want to thank you for helping me and my family.

His interlocutor had one of his few discreet smiles on his lips. It pleased him to help the Strauss family, for some reason, many memories, a simpler period of his life, resurfaced while staying with them.

Mira: I would like to know why you help us so much? Did you experience something similar with your family

Astaroth's mood took a bad hit at his question. The image of the small family reappeared in his mind but also that of a small ravaged village. With the scene came the smell of flames l.i.c.k.i.n.g buildings and the cries of many people resounded in his ears. A huge monster flew over the village, he did not let anyone escape his rampage. Astaroth's pulse quickened and he was doing everything he could to suppress the emotions that beset him.

Astaroth: Let's say ... that I have my reasons.

Mira felt that the emotions of her savior were troubled by her question, she had spent enough time with him to notice this kind of emotion. She did not take offense, and rested her head against the young man's shoulder. The latter did not notice him, since he was busy repressing feelings in his heart.

When he finally regained consciousness, he saw that Mira was sleeping against him. He stayed in the same position because he did not want to disturb her. Without realizing it, he began to fall asleep too.

The next day, younger Strauss showed their new magic to their elder sister. Although she already knew what they were doing by seeing them the day before, she was so touched that she cried with joy. Astaroth remained at a distance, not wanting to spoil this family event.

Later that day, Mira finally managed to repress the demonic soul and her arm resumed human form again. For the Strauss family it was a nightmare that finally ended.

It was on this burst of joy that the group reached its destination. After explaining the situation of the small family in Makarov, he gladly welcomed them into his guild.

The two young Strauss quickly integrated into the strange family that is Fairy Tail. Even Lisanna and Natsu were rarely far from each other. Elfman quickly got into the habit of describing all that was manly to him.

As for Mira, it did not take long for him to reaffirm his old personality. She now wore Gothic clothes, wanted to show her dominance over everyone and had to form a rivalry with Erza. The guild was as scared of her as of her rival.

The only person she ever offended was Astaroth. Amazingly, she softened and fought a lot less when he was in the guild.

Another shock for the guild members was that the swordsman sometimes conversed with the Strauss family around a table, on the rare occasions when he did not go on a mission. It completely broke the idea of the person who does not care about others, that they were created on him.

Makarov thought with a smile: The dirty kid finally made friends, I began to despair.
