The Demonic Swordsman Of Fairy Tail

Chapter 7 - Grimoire Heart

The two mages walked for several hours. They did not exchange a word for all that time. Finally, they arrived at their destination, in front of a huge lake.

In front of Astaroth was a huge boat, it was black with various badges and a bay window at the top. Ultear entered through one of the many open access doors leading to the shore where the ship was stowed. Astaroth followed her without question.

They walked in a long, dark hallway that stretched for a few minutes. At the end of it was an almost b.a.r.e room covered with a glass dome and reinforced by bolted metal beams. The floor is made of wood and includes two rows of very small stalagmite-like rock projections, plus a pair of stone sections and a round, dark central pattern, adjacent to the huge and majestic throne. It is a structure that seems to be composed of several immense bony formations, with two protuberances reminiscent of gigantic horns projecting forward, coupled with two large wings composed of massive and dark feathers, and a central spine. rising above the structure, supplemented by flat bones protruding from its sides, somewhat reminiscent of the ribs. The spine has a massive, flat object behind it, both of which are adjacent; such an object recalls a double-edged blade, completed by a dark central part and clear edges.

On the throne was an elderly man, tall, with a long smooth back, long silver hair that reveals his forehead. He also has a mustache and a long, slightly skinny and curly beard, which goes down to the lower part of his c.h.e.s.t. He has wrinkles on his face, as evidenced by his extremely advanced age; nevertheless, despite this age, his figure is muscular and well defined. He wears an eye patch over his right eye. His outfit consists of a dark shirt, bright epaulettes and gauntlets, and coats of mail covering the parts of his arms remaining exposed, from simple light pants with flames at the ends, held by what looks like a light belt. Consisting of two straps with relative buttons, possibly some of the pants itself, and dark, shoes / boots. On this outfit, he wears a large dark cape, wearing the Grimoire Heart symbol on his back and a high-necked coat, lighter borders and shredded lower edges. We also see him wearing a helmet matching his armor, a protruding metal plate protecting his forehead, two rows of studs on the front, his face and protrusion on each side and a darker rear part adorned with a ridge

The young woman stood to the right of the old man's throne, which was probably his leader.

Having kept his eyes open, Astaroth could see a great power emanating from the old man, especially from his bandaged eye.

Old man: I'm glad you're accepted to meet my boy. I am Hades, master of Grimoire Heart.

Astaroth: Although I imagine you already know, I am Astaroth vi Lucifer. Now that the formalities are finished tell me why and since months of the month one of the major guilds of the Alliance Balam spies on me.

Hades turned his stern look at Ultear thinking that she had failed in her spying mission. She could only give a bitter smile in response, she did not know how, but her target had discovered that he had been under surveillance for a long time.

Astaroth: Do not look at her like that, you're just as guilty. Let's say you confirmed my suspicions.

The head of Grimoire Heart looked at him with a slight confusion. What had he done to show that he had been watching him for a while? His interlocutor answered without changing his emotion.

Astaroth: It's because of your look. Since I met this girl, none of you have had a reaction to seeing my eyes. I'm not naive, eyes like mine would shock anyone, unless they were used to seeing them many times.

Hades wanted to bang his head against the wall. He had spied on the young man for several months and had become accustomed to seeing these strange eyes, so he did not feel any more shock in the seers. To the astonishment of everyone in the room, the old man laughed.

Hades: Ha Ha Ha. You impress me kid. All right, I'll tell you everything without hiding anything. The goal of Grimoire Heart is to discover The Ultimate Magic World.

He began to explain to the swordsman the concept of '' One Magic '' At first he found it to be an interesting concept but the more he learned about it he thought it was way too idyllic. In addition, in this world most normal humans would suffer genocide, was not it too radical? On the other hand, he thought that this could be a source of clue to increase his magic power. Mainly Lost Magic, a magic he had been looking for for a long time but could not find because of its rarity.

He explained that Ultear had been charged by the Council with spying on him, but as a spy, he did not inform his master. Thus he became aware of his existence and discovered that he was radically different from most legal wizards.

Hades: To successfully build The Ultimate Magic World, I gather various users of Lost Magic and I want you to become one of my Seven Kin of Purgatory.

Astaroth: But I do not use that kind of magic, so why call on me?

The old man smirked at his question and began to pull an object out of his cloak.

Hades: For two reasons. Firstly, I am convinced that the peculiarity of your eyes is rooted in "One Magic" and that by coming closer to this objective they will show their true power. Second, by agreeing to serve me I will teach you Lost Magic and your power will reach new heights.

He showed him an old book, on the cover it read "Lost Magic: Soul Sword". The swordsman was stunned, he was offered magic so powerful and he sought for so many years as simply, even if it was like a contract with the devil he was very tempted. There was only one last question that kept him from accepting this offer.

Astaroth: I've been with Fairy Tail for many years and the Council wants me to be a Saint Wizard, what makes you think I will not betray you at the first opportunity?

The dark wizard's smile only widened into a much darker smile.

Hades: We both know that you will not do this, you are the ones who are looking for power and a guild like yours will only restrain you. In addition, although you are an "unstable piece", conversely you can be an excellent spy against Fairy Tail and the Council.

Astaroth did not ask him anything, he had enough information to make a decision.

... ..

Astaroth was on a small hill. In his back you could see the ship of Grimoire Heart, as the sun went to bed. He looked deeply at the two objects he held in his hands. As he did this, his thoughts went astray.

He thought back to the destruction of his clan by the huge beast of the apocalypse. That day, he had sworn to destroy this beast even if it would cost him his soul. This led him to wake up his sharingan and sink into darkness.

Later, he remembered the day he met Makarov. He was the first to want to bring it back into the light and integrate it into the family of Fairy Tail. Since he met him he considers him a substitute father. If he knew what his idiot son was going to do, he would probably stun him for several weeks.

By joining Fairy Tail, he met various people but it was difficult for him to bond with them because of his personality. The only person he could relate to was Laxus. Although he did not want to admit it, the change in his rivalry with him had greatly affected him and he closed even more on himself. He began to think that power made people lonely because he attracted jealousy, since he wants to become one of Earthland's most powerful mages, he did not get bored with friendship anymore. .

This changed when he met the Strauss family. He quickly established a strong friendship with them, he saw the two young Strauss as a little brother and a little sister, as for Mira it was what he could consider closer to a best friend. He was admiring of their family ties and often made him rethink nostalgia for his. Still, he could only get away from them for their own safety.

Although his eyes are very powerful and reveal only part of their potential, they were also cursed. He regularly felt murderous impulses and if he did not submit to it once in two weeks he would become a raging beast that could only kill. That was why he would go out on missions as well and in the future he would have to reduce his presence in the guild even more. If it were not for Hades who wanted him to remain as a spy, he would not have dared to return.

Unfortunately it was only the shade that dulled Fairy Tail's light and could only go away to let it shine to its full potential. Although he joined a dark guild and could be described as a traitor or spy, he would protect the home that had gathered and showed a brief moment the simple joy of life.

Determination allowed him to regain his concentration. He stared at the objects he held in his hands. These were objects that had belonged to the biggest criminal of his clan. It is said that he had tried to conquer the world and if it was not the alliance of several countries against him, he could have succeeded. The clan had kept his personal belongings as a sign of respect for his power. Astaroth had found them in the ruins of his village and had preserved them thanks to Requip's magic. Although he would never be as talented as Titania in this area he could at least allow him to travel without luggage.

He thought it appropriate to wear such a suit because he was going to join a dark guild.

In his left hand was a black cloak with red clouds. These clouds represented the rains of blood generated by the wars. He quickly put it over his clothes, the collar of the coat went up to his chin.

He started to put the objects in his right hand on his face. It was a white mask consisting of a wavy pattern with three tomoes around the center, two of which act as holes for the eyes of the mask. His eyes gave the impression of being more bloodthirsty through this mask and released a much stronger pressure. Seeing it you think you see a demon.

He turned to his new guild. He lives in front of the entrance several people. Master Hades was in front of the entrance, next to him were Ultear and five other people. There was a young man with blond hair who had a predatory smile on his face. A middle-aged man with dark skin, he did not seem really interested in the situation. An overweight man with a very pale skin stood there with a smile of pride, he seemed to believe to be one of the strongest people in the group. Beside him was a young man with gray hair and stoic air. Finally there was a man-goat wearing a black jacket and sunglasses, he gave the impression of being a serious person. On each side of the group stood the Grimoire Heart soldiers. They had one knee on the ground and were placed in a straight line in front of the elites of their guild.

Astaroth went to his new companions, he did not look once behind him. He had made his choice, to fulfill his vengeance he would sink into darkness.
