The Devil's Bride

The very next day after the royal banquet - turned disaster birthday celebration, every guest had rush back to their country trying to avoid any possible connection to the Rosenberg bloody demon contract, except for one young crown prince, Prince Henry of the Volkenshire Kingdom.

He took his time to leave for he had two reasons, one because he was waiting for King Lionel to grant him a chance for a political talk, two was to catch a glimpse of a certain princess who just turned eighteen yesterday, if lucky he might have a chance to have a conversation with the princess.

He missed his chance to ask her for a dance last night when Count Vladimir appeared in the middle of the banquet. Prince Henry even hope for a marriage relationship in future with the princess.

He had fall for her beauty when he saw her last night, to him the princess was the prettiest amongst the princesses. Moreover, if the marriage can be establish between the two of them, it will bring good fortune for both kingdoms. Hemsford are the main trader for iron, the country had been blessed by being the only kingdon with iron mining. Iron was mainly use in military equipment as well as in daily tools.

Prince Henry can secure the trade routes and iron supply for his country if ever he marry the princess of Hemsford. In exchange, Hemsford Kingdom will get the greatest ally when it comes to military production and supply.

Although he knew that the political marriage can be between him and any of the princesses, but he had fall in love at first sight to Princess Kathleen. His heart want her, only her and no one else.

His personal secretary came knocking on the door and presenting him an invitation letter from King Lionel. He was informed that the letter was personally sent to his chamber by the royal secretary himself.

After receiving the king's message stating that they can have a private meeting right after brunch hour, the young prince went outside for a walk.

Accompanied by his personal royal guards and with the permission from the captain of the palace guards, he walk around the palace ground when he caught Princess Kathleen having her breakfast on her balcony, looking lovely as last night.

She made him awestruck. She's look so beautiful that he almost drool. Luckily he was quick to compose himself before he embarrass himself in front of his royal guards.

He stay on his spot for awhile, taking his time enjoying the beauty that caught by his eyes. From where he stand, it was a little secluded, his presence was covered by the trees and flower bushes, it made the princess didn't aware of the prince looking at her.

When Princess Kathleen finished her breakfast and went inside her chamber, the prince finally move from his spot and walked back to his chamber.

'I must have lost my mind by standing there like a stalker' he scolded himself inside his mind. It was out of his character stalking someone, but he did.

'But what can a normal man do when facing such beauty, right? hahaha' he laughed to himself trying to make an excuse for his unethical behavior.

Prince Henry was done bathing and make himself presentable to meet the king when his secretary came to informed him that it is almost time for the meeting.

Stepping into the king's office, Prince Henry greeted the old King Lionel. The king invited him to sit on the couch at corner of the office. King Lionel took the single seat couch while Prince Henry make himself comfortable on the opposite couch.

"What made you asked for a private meeting young prince?" asked the king.

"I will go straight to the point, to avoid wasting more time, your majesty" answered the prince.

The king nod and signaling Prince Henry to continue.

"I'm asking for the hand in marriage to one of your princess. To be honest this is a political marriage where both kingdoms will gain benefit from it, but when I saw your princess last night, even if this marriage will bring loses to my kingdom, I will still stand firm with my decision" said the young prince looking hopeful.

King Lionel sigh upon hearing the prince's proposal with honesty. He himself aware of his daughters beauty, and he admit that this kind of political relationship will boost both kingdoms, but he still worried.

"After what happened last night, what make you still want to do this? do you know that my daughter carry the blood of Rosenberg, the blood contract will forever be the curse to any of my descendants" asked the king worriedly.

"As I said just now, even if it will bring loses to my kingdom, I will still want to marry your daughter, your majesty. Please give me your blessings" said Prince Henry, begging the king.

"The devil hasn't announce which princess will be his bride, the name will probably announce after the seven days ended, which will be this weekend. But, which rose who had your heart, young prince?" asked the king. He had asked for which rose because all of his daughters middle name was Rose.

"The youngest rose, your majesty, Princess Kathleen Rose Rosenberg" replied the crown prince confidently.

"I see. I give you my blessings young prince, but we have to wait until the end of this week, I want to avoid angering the devil if he knew that one of his bride's candidate is off the market" said King Lionel.

Agreeing to the king's words, Prince Henry prayed that Princess Kathleen won't be chosen as the devil's bride.

But what both men didn't know was that the bride has been long chosen before the Count announced it at the banquet, and the bride has been marked by the groom himself.
