The Doctor Who Loves Me

Xander gulped as his friendly smile turned slightly awkward because of the scrutinizing look he was getting right now. All eyes were on him with their mouths agape as if they had seen a ghost.

Yera went to visit the Kens with him and Yera. They were now in the living room where Yera had introduced him to Arya Ken and Dean Ken.

"Arya pinch me please… I think Bernard is really angry at me for teasing him often," murmured Dean Ken. 

Arya Ken who first managed to compose herself smiled back at Xander and said, "It's nice to meet you Xander. Please apologize, though Deyna already told us on the phone that you looked exactly like Bernard, uhm we did not expect that the similarities uhm is a bit hmm…"

"They are like twins!" Dean Ken interrupted as he walked closer to Xander and inspected him more by rounding at him then he paused and focussed on his face.

"Yeah, almost the same but you're the macho version of Bernard I guess… Because Bernard is uhm a bit feminine I think… I mean the facial features… Though, if seen closely, I can still differentiate you two but at first glance, you can be twins..." Dean commented straightforwardly that made Yera laughed as usual.

Yes, her Dean Ken, cousin Ryu Ken, never failed to make her laugh with his funny comments like now. Bernard and Dean would always banter a lot. Dean would often tease Bernard, calling him a flower boy every now and then.

"Bro, he's more shameless than Bernard," commented Yera in honesty, still laughing.

Dean hugged Yera tightly and said, "Why do you look a bit thin. It's like I'm hugging a stick now? You shouldn't left us like that..." Murmured Dean.

Xander's face twisted seeing that Dean hugged Yera like that but then Yera's smile and laughter was something to behold. 'So she can be like this with them?' He mused as his heart felt at ease that Yera had friends who she could trust and be herself with. 

He thought that Yera did not have anyone at all except for Bernard. Yes, he knew that the Kens was the one who had kept her but then he did not expect that they treated her like a real family and as one of their own.

"Dean, let her go or the man she's with here will surely kill you at any moment with those firing glare," commented a man who just arrived.

"Bro Ryu!" Yera smiled broadly and hugged the man called Ryu.

"How are you feeling?" Asked Yera with concern as she looked at him intently.

"I'm back to normal and much better… Thanks to our miracle doctor…" said Ryu as he pinched Yera's nose.

Yera introduced Xander to Ryu Ken, Arya's husband and all of them had a chat over tea where Yera narrated how she met Xander and how did the marriage happened.

Xander only listened in awe because obviously Yera had her own version of the story.

On their way to the Kens, Yera already gave him a heads up that she wanted to keep her identity as Yera Han a secret saying she did not want the Kens to get involved with her personal matters because the family had experienced enough tragedy facing their own trials.

So Yera told him to just nod and smiled to whatever she would say to the Kens and that was Xander did.

Yera then apologized at the Kens for not informing them about the marriage.

"It's okay… But I insist that we celebrate it still. I will arrange something or else you know Grandpa will scold us all. Don't worry it will be a family celebration only. Us and Xander's family." Arya insisted so Yera just nodded in agreement.

"Hmm, I guess Bernard is looking after you well Deyna. He probably sent his cousin to you… to watch over and take care of you… I don't believe in coincidences if you will ask me. I mean, fate brought you up together. As often my dad says it, everything happens for a reason," Arya stated her opinion.

"Hmm, I have to leave to pick up my wife. Deyna it really makes me happy to see you doing well. I'm sure Bernard is happy to wherever he was." Said Dean who suddenly stood up. 

Then he looked at Xander and said, "Bro make sure you take care of her because if you failed, always remember that the Kens will hunt you down…"

Xander laughed at the remark and said smiling, "Don't worry, Deyna is in the best hands with me," then he grabbed Yera's hand and kissed it lovingly that made Yera blushed.

Arya was grinning and looked at Yera teasingly.

Ryu shook his head and said, "Why scare our guest? Go now and get your wife."

Dean scratched his head and left as soon as he bid Yera and Xander farewell.

After a few minutes of talking with Arya and Ryu, Yera said, "We have to go… I'll visit again another time to see Old Master Ken and the rest."

Arya nodded and said, "Alright, please do because they surely miss you too. Bring your husband again with you so he can meet the others and... scared them…"

Yera laughed while Xander massaged his nape as he smiled timidly. He kept quiet as requested by Yera, he behaved as much as he could.

Meanwhile, Yera let out a long deep sigh as soon as they were inside the car. Her heart had never stop beating fast for fear that  Xander would do more shamelessness things in front of Arya and Ryu. 

Her face dimmed as she said, "I told you to behave."

Xander creased his forehead and defended, "I did! Why? I just held your hand and kissed it. That is so mild you know… Besides, it will help to reassure them that you're in safe hands and with a loving husband. I even controlled myself hard not to hug or kiss you in front of them."

Yera's face flushed. She would never bring Xander again or else she would die of embarrassment on the spot in front of the Kens because of Xander's shamelessness.
