The Doctor Who Loves Me

"Dr. CEO, if you're so worried and itching too much to know what is going on then why don't you go and sneak around at their meeting place? Please give me some peace here and leave," Rui exclaimed seeing how Xander was restless that he pestered him instead with his unnecessary questions.

Xander scoffed, "what do you think of me? Someone insecure? Someone clingy? Excuse me I'm Xander Yang!"

Rui helplessly blew air on the loose hairs on his forehead. Xander said Yera went out to meet her previous fiance Lyndon Chu on a private restaurant and obviously his good friend wanted to go there too knowing how Xander's mind works.

"Alright, let's go and burn out the place!" Rui finally gave in because he knew Xander was only waiting for his signal as he could not go alone because Yera did not disclose to him the place she would meet Lyndon Chu. And needed someone for an alibi and he was the best candidate to be that alibi.

They arrived at the meeting place, that was a serene private restaurant with private rooms separated only with sliding wood doors. They occupied the private room next to where Yera and Lyndon were supposed to meet.

Yera arrived at the restaurant on time she and she was sure that Lyndon was already waiting, because he often arrived earlier than the agreed time in every meeting. The waiter greeted her and she said Lyndon's name then the waiter assisted her into the room where he was waiting.

As soon as she entered the room, she gave Lyndon a wide smile. Thanks to Xander, she managed to smile more often and get used to it so she now knew how to release a genuine, wide smile unlike before where it would look awkward and stiff.

"Mr. Lyndon Chu?" Yera said as she approached him and introduced herself casually, "Good afternoon, I'm Deyna Song."

Lyndon only stood on his feet like a pillar, not moving at all as the woman in front of him  extended her hand to him with a beautiful smile directed at him. She looked exactly like Yera but somehow different. Yera would never smile like she did…

"Mr. Chu?" she heard the woman repeated

Lyndon collected himself as he quickly accepted her hand and smiled, "I'm sorry, it's because you look a lot…"

"Dr. Yera Han?" interrupted Yera with a smile still curving her beautiful face. Lyndon nodded and Yera added, "I understand because I got that a lot whenever someone who knows her saw me it's like they've seen a ghost."

Yera sit on her chair and Lyndon did the same. The food came and Yera suddenly commented, "The food looks good. I'm actually starving already. Is it okay if we eat first before we talk seriously. I mean talk about business because I'm sure it's the reason why you invited me for this meeting."

'She's not Yera,' Lyndon tried to  convince himself inwardly that the woman in front of him was not Yera. He was controlling himself hard not to hug her tightly. He missed Yera so much and she was the exact replica of Yera but her behavior was the exact opposite.

He unconsciously stared at Dr. Deyna Song who started to eat in front of him heartily. 

Yera was prim and proper and never smile. If she was Yera, she would talk about business first and would not even bother with the food in front of her at all.

Yera on the other hand knew Lyndon was observing her well. She was so grateful that she was able to copy how cheerful Xander was as she smiled sweetly at Lyndon and said, "Please eat also , I will feel awkward if you continue to stare at me. Do you know that Dr. Yera Han? I haven't actually bother to look on about her yet though a colleague of mine showed me her photos so I'm curious to know what happened to her. But work is exhausted so I don't have time I guess…" 

Lyndon nodded and whispered, "Yes, she my fiancee…"

Yera stopped eating and looked at Lyndon closely and said, "I'm sorry."

He smiled and told her that years passed by fast but Yera and their good memories would remain in his heart.

Lyndon began to eat but would still sneak glances at her from time to time. Yera commented plainly, "this is my first time eating at this place. It's quite good, I should bring that 'Clown' in here sometimes.

Lyndon creased his forehead and asked, "Clown?"

Yera laughed and nodded then she explained, "Yes, someone I'm close at Yang Hospital. He always smiles so I call him a 'Clown'. Oh, sorry please continue with eating…"

Lyndon smiled and replied, "It's okay really. Do talk, it's better than an awkward silence." The woman in front of him was definitely not Yera who hated to talk whenever they were eating. Yera prefered talking after a meal.  The woman in front of her looked so jolly and carefree very much unlike Yera, the woman he loved…

At the other side of the room, Rui was enjoying the food as he commented, "Do you really think you can hear a thing once you stick your ears in that partition?"

He did not know whether to laugh or cry with how pathetic his friend looked right now with his head leaning on the partition, trying his very hard to eavesdrop the conversation from another room.

"The food here is really good. This is my first time here, thanks to you I found another good eating place. Oh goodness, eat first you clingy husband!!!" Rui scolded as he put food on Xander's plate.

"Here, try this one…" said Rui and Xander sigh as he gave up  since he could not hear a thing.

"I noticed Yera is not stiff unlike before when I first met her. That's a good sign, you'll soon hit your goal if you heed my advice.' said Rui nonchalantly.

Xander's face crumpled and sarcastically replied, "You yourself has no lovelife? Do you really think your advice counts?"

Rui laughed and said, "I'm a psychiatrist, it's more of like I can almost read people's minds merely by their behavior, attitude and expressions. The same as I can read you as a clingy husband…"

"I'm not clingy okay? I'm just worried… What if that Lyndon is the real culprit? I want to protect Yera and I vowed that no harm will befall her again under my protection." defended Xander.

Rui nodded as he picked a steamed deboned fish while he commented, "Yeah yeah right… Totally not clingy but over protective then? But clingy still best describes your behavior right now. Well insecurity counts since you're afraid that somehow Yera will still like that Lyndon."

Xander did not respond because Rui could read him well. He was somehow afraid because Yera and Lyndon shared almost a year of relationship together…

Seeing Xander's looked Rui added,  "Don't worry, it won't count if he had spent more time with Yera before. What counts is today… You have all the advantage since she's already your wife and you'll get to spend more time with her while she stays at Yang Hospital so make it counts…"

Xander sighed… He had a month at most because Yera would soon accept the offer at Life Globals group after a month at Yang Hospital. Well, her rest days would be his still so yeah he had more advantage…

Rui shook his head as he looked at Xander with sympathy then he continued eating...
