The Factory's Secret

Caro got two nights late in the submarine construction and decided to spend the night. Again. Madd left and Caro was working alone with Luna, because Lena had a cold. She absolutely didn't want to get late, because she wanted to know where was X.A.R.A., what was he doing in the international network. Does questions still couldn't be answered. Caro had a feeling that X.A.R.A. was going to set up an attack again. Happily, her tower detection scan was finished since a week and was installed in the supercomputer's memory. Mike would come back in another week, his mother missed England. He didn't, he said, because it recalled him bad memories. Nobody understood what he meant by that. Jo, him, was resting a lot and Madd and him would often walk and eat an ice cream. It let them time to think about how much their lives changed in nine months. If Caro was spending it in the factory, not moving from her chair all day, Madd and Jo were really spending their summer in the fun they had just the two of them, like it was before Caro and Mike arrived. They had to let many things aside.

In the morning, Caro was still on her computer, but everybody else was sleeping hard. They were woke by an intense ground trembling. There was an earthquake! Made woke up in a hurry to get her stuff on the top of the closet so it didn't fall. She put them on the bed and had no idea what do to next. It was her first time in a so big earthquake. Jo, him, still didn't realize why he was woke up when he felt the shaking. He got out of the room as he could and tried to take the stairs to go down. He got out of the building and was secure. Caro, her, thought she was hallucinating because she hadn't slept in a week. The twins stayed where they were, kept on doing what they were doing. They seemingly didn't understand the possible cause of a ground shaking like that. When the trembling were less intense, and stooped a couple minutes later. They all were safe, but scared. Except Caro. She called them to know if they were okay, then checked the tower scan and it showed that X.A.R.A. had started the earthquake. Caro just hoped none of the scanners were damaged, because they couldn't be used then. She analyzed their performances to see if it was the case and apparently, the fourth scanner was done. The others arrived in the factory and Caro told them to go on Aria. They went down with the elevator with Caro. She showed a scanner with her arm and said:

"You see, this scanner is unusable. Don't use it or you'll be stuck between two worlds. Aria and here, obviously. What will happen is that you'll be defragmented, as usual, but you won't be reformed on Aria. You'll be projected in a parallel in-a-both universe. You might suffer the consequences for life if you try it." Caro said before going on the first underground floor to virtualize her friends.

"Okay nice!" Madd said before going in one of the three usable scanners.

"Transfer, scanner activated for all, virtualization." she said.

Happily, there were enough scanners for them all. Madd, Jo and Luna. Lena was still sleeping and almost couldn't move. So on Aria, she wouldn't last long. Once they were all on Aria, Caro kept on checking the scanners' to make sure they were all functioning well.

"Caro? Were are Xuli and Xina?" Madd asked.

"Yeah, they should be near us." Jo added.

"What? Why aren't they there? I virtualized you were my map told me they were." Caro said, activating the localization program to try to find them.

"So?" Jo said.

"What? They're on forest territory!" Caro said, after virtualizing her friends on the candy sector.

"It's okay, we'll go by ourselves. Get us the good tower." Madd asked.

"It's the one on the first island to your right." Caro indicated.

"Okay." They took a rainbow slide getting down on the island.

They went in the tower, jumped and appeared on the desert sector.

"Caro?" Jo said, worried.

"There's a bug in the supercomputer's internal circuits. I have to fix that right now, or we'll be in sh*t." Caro said, before getting down to work directly on the supercomputer.
