He chose the four items after several minutes of thinking and distributed them to his friends. He kept the B.r.e.a.s.tplate of Blessed Warlords for himself and gave the Bloodrage Battlehammer and Ancient Steel B.r.e.a.s.tplate to Terrius. Karl received the Robes of the Wind with a happy smile.

Their stats improved significantly after equipping their items.

They nodded their heads with smiles plastered on their faces.

They ate a lot of boar meat and slept after that.

The next morning Roan woke the others up. After taking their breakfast, they prepared their weapons and equipments.

"Where will we train now Roan?" asked Karl.

Roan already thought about it and said immediately "We will go to Ridge City for now. We will search for survivors and train along the way."

His friends' eyes immediately lit up at the thought of being able to save their fellow citizens at the mouth of those beasts.

"But before that, let me go buy some things first ensure our safety"

Roan checked his remaining coins and was glad to find out that he still had 6742 coins left. He then browsed through the store and looked for healing items since they only had the Fruit of Vitality currently which is not enough in case of multiple injuries.

Roan decided to buy two Healing Paste for assurance. He only had 3742 coins left after the purchase. He thought about it and bought a dagger for Karl as well in case he will be embroiled in close combat.

"What is this for?" asked as he admired the exquisite dagger in his hands.

Roan smiled towards and said "For your safety."

Karl also smiled in response and tucked the dagger on his waist.

They walked towards Ridge City and killed beasts along the ways as well, before Karl spotted several silhouettes staggering towards their direction.

"I can see seven humans walking slowly towards our direction, but something is very weird about them" Karl said in confusion.

"Humans!" Terrius' eyes lit up after finally seeing humans. He was about to approach them but then a hand grabbed his shoulder firmly. He then saw Roan with knitted eyebrows as he studied the silhouettes moving towards them.

"They are not humans" he said calmly.

"Karl, shoot them!" he ordered.

"Whoosh whoosh!" seven arrows were released with great speed and penetrated perfectly on the undeads.

They carefully walked towards the undeads and they saw arrows etched firmly on their heads.

"My skill pinpointed that their weakness were their heads" Karl said while shrugging his shoulders. They were inwardly shock at Karl's accuracy.

Roan carefully inspected an undead's corpse.

"Based on their clothes, they were once humans, but then some sort of plague made them turn into this" Roan's improved intelligence proved to be useful.

The two others were shock at the discovery.

"So, it's not just them?"

"Yes, there are more of them"

"Terrius take the vanguard position, Karl you stay in the middle. I will guard the rear." They then proceeded into formation and moved even more carefully.

They arrived in Ridge City after a few hours of walking and killed monsters and undead along the way as well. Their levels also went up, but they were still not able to find even one survivor.

"Let's try searching Ridge University, there might be students hiding in one of the rooms." Roan said after thinking for a bit.

They killed several beasts and undeads before finally arriving in front of Ridge University. The former glorious looking school was now in a mess. Undeads were lurking around the school and they can even see several beasts.

"Grooowll!" A loud growl reached their ears and then they saw a huge cat-like beast glaring towards their direction while stepping on an undead with its giant paws. It bit the undead's head before fl.i.c.k.i.n.g its corpse away. The beast ran towards their direction in great speed.

Although the Mutated Cat's level is higher than the scorpion Roan killed before, but it's just a Silver ranked beast making it just about as strong as the scorpion.

Terrius blocked the Mutated Cat's claw strike with his shield and used his Battle Cry. The beast was momentarily stunned by the skill but was able to collect itself after shaking its huge cat-head. But it was enough time for Karl to land arrows on both it's eyes. The beast howled in pain and swiped its claws randomly causing great destruction in the places it hit. Roan sheathed his sword and did a forward slash. A huge burning sword wind traveled towards the beast which cut it in half.

Terrius and Karl was already used to the surprises given by Roan, so they were not that shocked this time.

They then went inside the school an opened the rooms one by one.

"Karl you search floors 1 and 2, Terrius, you search floors 3 and 4. I'll go search the remaining two floors." ordered Roan.

Roan arrived at the 5th floor in several seconds. He opened the rooms one by one but was only greeted by undeads that growled at the sight of him. He killed them in a few strikes and proceeded to open the remaining rooms in the 5th floor.

Four women wearing school uniforms peeked outside and saw Roan killing the undeads with great ease. They looked tired and weary because they have not eaten for a few days, but their eyes glimmered with hope after seeing Roan.

"He is strong!"

"He might be able to help us out"

"But how can we tell him that we are here?"

They thought about it and then one of them said "Let's shout. Let's risk it all!" Her beautiful blue eyes were shining resplendently while saying those words.

"Are you sure? They will hear us." said a woman in pigtails with fear.

"I don't want to die here in starvation. Let's do it!" said a woman with beautiful figure, her eyes were full of resolve.

The remaining woman just nodded her head in response, but the same hope was present in her eyes.

"Help! Help us! We are here!"

"Help us!"

The lovely shouts stopped Roan's movements. He then spotted an open window on the female dormitory right across the building they were in.

He smiled and dashed towards their direction with great speed.
