The Kings

51 A Nightmare

Does dream always feel this realistic? It felt so real every single time I have this dream.

"Are you awake now?" Mu Yi walked out from the bathroom wearing a robe only.

He immediately stopped in his track when he saw Anong's pale face and her clothes were soaked with sweats. Meanwhile, her body was trembling uncontrollably.

Anong did not show any reaction that she heard him.

"Did you have a bad dream?" Mu Yi took a step closer to her to see what was wrong with her all the sudden. She was sleeping perfectly fine when he got up to get ready for the day.

A bad dream? Hah, if only this nightmare were really just a dream.

"Don't come over here!" I screamed, wrapping my arms around my shoulders, trying to calm myself down. Instead, I burst out crying while trying to control my emotions. "P-please..."

Damn, I forgot I was still at a hotel, and Mu Yi was here as well. Why did I have to have that dream? Was it because Shu Meiying slapped me that day, so it triggered some sort of memory?

"Anong," Mu Yi ran towards her, even when she asked him not to come over.

Anong didn't react to him coming near her like before. She suddenly became very quiet as she stared down at the end of the bed.

Mu Yi reached out his hand in an attempt to check if she hurt her face or neck. He saw her rubbing her face and neck vigorously when he got out of the bathroom.

"Don't touch me!" I slapped away Mu Yi's hand that was inches away from touching my face. "G-go away! Go away!"

I pushed Mu Yi away from me with all my strength. Yet, my arms felt weak and dead. I didn't mean to push him or be violent, but I don't want anyone to touch me right now. I just need to be alone!

"P-please leave... Leave!" I continued screaming, trying to get him away from me.

Mu Yi was slightly shocked when Anong had slapped away his hand. Then she started screaming while pushing him to get away from her as well. He doesn't know why she was reacting this way, but he'll listen to her request for now. Whatever he says or do right now will make her condition worse.

"I'll go get you something warm," Mu Yi changed out of the robe and into a new set of suit that Chu Heng dopped off.

Anong continued to sit in the same position and hasn't said a word since. The way she wrapped her arms around her shoulders was a way of comforting and protecting herself at the same time.

Mu Yi didn't want to leave her alone by herself at all, but she strongly wished to be alone for a bit. So he will give her some time to calm down.

Still, Anong did not respond and continued to stare at one spot at the end of the bed.

Mu Yi gently closed the door behind him to not startled Anong anymore than she is already. When he was far enough from the room, he took out his phone and made a phone call.

"Ace, find all the information you can on someone name Yun Anong from the last seven years. I want it within the next twenty-four hours," Mu Yi command. "Give me everything, including the smallest detail."

"Oh, no. Who dare offend big boss now?" Ace replied, already searching up information on Yun Anong. Then he whistled when he pulled up a picture, "She is cute."

"I told you to look up her information, not stare at her picture," Mu Yi growled, he didn't have the time to joke around with Ace. Although it wasn't like he ever joked around with anyone.

"Aiyo, I'm so sorry big boss!" Ace halfhearted apologized.

Mu Yi rubbed his forehead, he had another person he wanted Ace to look into but was debating if he should. He wanted Ace to fully concentrate on Anong's issue only, but seeing how she reacted after seeing 'that' person last night...

"Look into a person by the name of Aiden as well," Mu Yi decided it'll be a good idea just in case. Even if he had nothing to do with the way Anong was reacting right now. At the very least he had something to do with Anong when he wasn't around her the last seven years.

"Aiden? Do I get a last name or..."

"No," Mu Yi ended the call after giving Ace the information he needed to know and who to investigate. Though he gave Ace up to twenty-four hours to gather information on both of them. He wanted to see the result already.

He clenched his phone tightly, angry at himself for not knowing anything about her so he couldn't help her. Anong also didn't want him to comfort her and wouldn't let him in on her problem. She wouldn't say anything to him either. Rather, she closed herself off and stayed in a protected body cocoon.
