The Kings

57 My Masterpiece

A long forgotten promise. I didn't answer him but turned my head the other way.

However, Mu Yi did not miss it when she made a sad expression, even if it was for a brief second.

"Here," Mu Yi handed me the glass cup of water that was sitting on the stand next to the bed.

I didn't reject the idea of getting some water into my system. Reaching out my hand for it, I noticed that my right hand was bandaged up. Especially where I had pierced the ring into my palm.

Ring?

"Where is my ring?" I turned to ask Mu Yi immediately, half panicking.

"It's right here," Mu Yi put the ring back on Anong's finger. He wanted to put it on her ring finger, but it'll only be the ring that comes from him.

I sighed out in relief. Thank goodness I did not lose the ring too!

Which it caused Mu Yi to raise an eyebrow to why she would freak out over a ring. It was something she and he can replace fairly easy. Furthermore, it seems like the ring had lost its shine.

"Now will you tell me what is wrong with you?" Mu Yi crossed his arms and waited for her answer.

Ah, shit. I didn't want to have a meltdown in front of Mu Corporate's employees; instead, I chose to do it in front of Mu Yi. Now I have to find an excuse to quickly dismiss Mu Yi's question.

I rubbed my eyes in a way to make it seem like I was 'extremely' tired, "It's nothing, just sleep deprived."

"You're lying!" Mu Yi shouted, grabbing me by the chin, and then he leaned in very close to my face, "What are you hiding from me?"

I avoided having eye contact with Mu Yi. Facing him directly right now was very dangerous. Especially in my weak state right now too, I would be unable to fend for myself.

In this perfect moment, I was seeing my phone light flashing in my purse. Apparently, someone was trying to call me. To avoid Mu Yi's question, I quickly dodged him to the side and grabbed my phone.

"You!" A voiced roared through the phone, "What the hell did you do my face!"

I moved the phone away from my ear before Tang Liang's fierce voice came through. Already predicted this was going to happen.

"What?" I laughed while feeling Mu Yi's eyes burning into my back. "You didn't like my masterpiece?"

"What a masterpiece!" Tang Liang snapped, "My face looks like a piece of shit right now!"

"Liang, if that's how you see yourself, I completely understand." I nodded my head, scooting myself far away from Mu Yi. "Ahhh!"

"What happened?" Tang Liang asked, jumping back slightly hearing Anong screaming through the phone.

"N-nothing, I just tripped..." I lied, staring straight up at Mu Yi who was on top of me.

I glared at him and mouthed, 'Get off me.'

Mu Yi did not look in the slightest bit apologetic. Rather, he had a playful grinned on his face and mouthed, 'You're not leaving.'

"Don't scare me like that," Tang Liang scolded.

"By the way, it's rude to insult my art like that! I even came to save you last night." I made sure to stress out the word 'save.' Hoping it'll get through Tang Liang's head the mess he created.

At the same time, I was attempting to kick Mu Yi off of me. He did not make it easy to kick him off by trapping my legs with his long legs. Nor did he make it any easier to just let him stay like that. Evidently, he couldn't keep his hand to himself!

"What save? I was alone last night at the bar." Tang Liang voiced trailed off trying to recall what happened after he left the bar.

"I saved my crazy drunk nephew number three from purchasing..." I slapped Mu Yi's sliding hand that was sliding up my waist, "a shark!"

Remembering the frenzy Tang Liang put me in and how I ended up being with Mu Yi the whole night. I was this close to tattle telling on him to my older brother number three.

"What!" Tang Liang sounded just as shocked as I was when I heard he wanted a shark. "I would never... Hold up! Wait, that does sound like something I would do. Remember the whole zoo thingy?"

Remember? Oh, how could I not recall it! It was a blast trying to not let any animals enter my house. In addition to trying to get rid of them off my property too. It took a whole week to clear them out, but once in a while, I will still encounter an exotic bird in my backyard. Sitting there, staring at me and making themselves at home.

"You should also apologize to your friend as well," I tried rolling over, so I didn't have to continue facing Mu Yi. Although that didn't help as he enjoyed the back view just as much.

"Friend? I didn't invite anyone this time to drink with me." Tang Liang stopped wiping his face, second-guessing himself if he did accidentally invited someone while being drunk.

"You didn't invite anyone for a drink?" I asked Tang Liang again, double checking I heard him correctly.

The person who texted me yesterday said that he was Tang Liang's friend. I still have the entire text conversation on my phone.

"Nope. Oh, a guy did offer to buy me a drink!" Tang Liang tried explaining what he could recall, meanwhile still trying to wipe the ink off his face. "Fuck, what kind of ink did you use? It's taking forever to wipe it off with makeup remover!"

I did have a feeling he wasn't Tang Liang's 'friend.'

Anong stopped trying to get rid of Mu Yi's hand and became extremely serious. Therefore he stopped trying to mess with her too. Running through his head was a bunch of rated eighteen and plus stuff. He couldn't help it seeing her serious expression, it was sexy and seductive.

"Stupid!" Anong suddenly exclaimed, scaring Mu Yi and Tang Liang at the same time. "Your face should be the least of your worry! What if that person was a paparazzi and got some embarrassing photos of you? I mean you were pretty embarrassing last night."

"Hey!" Tang Liang barked, then immediately piped down knowing what Anong was saying was right.

"Tang Liang," I narrowed my eyes coming to a realization. "How did that person know I was your aunt?"
