The Lazy System's Path

Chapter 5 - 10 Minutes left

"HAVE A NICE DAY MY A*S! I'M DYING YOU FOOL! HELP ME!" The panicked system tried to beat up the sense out of the Informant through the notification panel.

But the SA's Informant puckered its non-existent lips and gave silence as a response.

"HEY!" Argen whimpered and placed his pitiful gaze at the massive lion. Somehow, the lion was making an expression of disgust as if it had eaten a fly.

'Was my host really that disgusting? Although he was weak, he had a good heart.' The system pitifully floated towards the lion and entered the massive stomach.

He saw his host mangled body and the scary amount of blood gushing out from his wounds. Argen held back his tears in despair.

He was going die anyway. Therefore, Argen congealed and spent a large amount of his [System's Energy] , which can also be considered as life force, to materialize himself. He wanted to physically accompany his host during their few moments before death.

Since the stomach of the lion was so massive that even if 20 burly men were to enter, the place would still be spacious. So when Argen materialized himself, his position did not look so awkward as to be squeezed by the stomach's walls.

He slowly made way towards the host whom was currently breathing very faintly. The oxygen inside the stomach was scarce and if you add that with to the host's current condition, it was no wonder how his breathing rapidly gets weaker. Argen also felt the same since his body was still mortal and he hadn't used his system points yet to strengthen himself.

Argen badly wants to get him out of here, but with his current measly strength, it was impossible. He also couldn't transfer his System Energy and prolong his host since no one other that the systems themselves are able to wield and handle it. He also didn't have ways to save him and if he did have, there wouldn't be any medicine or materials to use.

"Host" The remorseful system gently called the attention of his half-awake host. If Argen hadn't been distracted and in a daze, there were ways he could have salvaged the situation before his host was painfully eaten.

The mangled body trembled and the owner's eyes, whom was closed from the immense pain, slowly snapped open with great difficulty. Even though the poor teenager wanted to scream from the pain, he restrained himself and use that energy to breathe instead. Argen's host could only reply in a small hoarse voice when he caught sight of an unfamiliar human who suddenly appeared from nowhere.

"Who…?"

"I am system no. 901, host. I am currently in my temporary physical form to accompany you. I am so----" Just as Argen was about to apologize he was intercepted by his host.

"I-I'm sorry system. I have failed you and unfortunately put us in this predicament" The teenager knew about the legendary systems as if they were bedtime stories, therefore he naturally knew the common knowledge about their relationship that when the host dies, so does the system.

After he had received the command knowledge from Argen, it was without saying that he knew the systems' benefits and when to unlock and use them, especially when materializing and its price when the stage of the host is still not on the right stage appropriate for such an action. Also if the host had achieved Sky Martial, it wasn't impossible for Argen to temporary heal him and bring him to safety. But alas, he was at Earthly Martial 3 when this happened.

After receiving the sudden apology from the injured, Argen felt a pang in his heart. He regretted half-heartedly training this host well. Argen had wasted this host's top-notch determination. He could have always given pointers to improve his host's way in cultivating but he neglected it seeing it would sacrifice his precious relaxation.

Argen sat down next to his host and replied, "I do not blame you. It's just that I'm---" His statement was cut short when he noticed the appearance of a distinguishable red thin line located on his former spot. The line traced up from the walls to the ceiling.

Suddenly, the duo felt the stomach floor moving in a sideway falling motion. And it wasn't long till they could obviously see the stomach into two and the night sky was beautifully within sight again. The other piece, where the system and the host was, harshly fell on the ground, rendering the heavily injured teenager unconscious.

Argen, using his weak mortal strength, moved his host to hide in a nearby large tree.

A bone-chilling laugh of a male then resounded throughout the forest.

"HAHAHAHA! King of Sublime World, did you think you could escape from me by pretending to be a measly spirit beast here on this subpar planet? What do you take me for? A fool? I am the almighty Ruler of Necromancy!"

Argen switched his sight to the location of the voice and was welcomed by the sight of a guffawing black robed person. He had majestic dark designs on the clothes and on his boney hands lay a skeletal scepter. On its peak lay a creepy laughing skull whom was emitting a blood red fog on its vicinity. There were floating thin blades, dripping with blood, swirling around the skull.

"Moron! I was so bored playing with your lousy tricks that I had decided to play hide and seek! How was that? You have finally felt a sense of accomplishment right?" On the lion's head, a white figure emerged from it and faced his interlocutor with a mocking expression. How would he be a pushover in terms of insults?

"Son of a b*tch! Let's duke it all out NOW!" The necromancer paid no more heed to his opponent's words and held his scepter high.

Sounds of utmost chilling shrieks and cries were heard and a massive ball of vengeful spirits was congealing above the necromancer. His eyes let out a blood-thirsty glow and his lips crept into a malicious smile.

"Oh yeah!? This will be YOUR final battle then!" The white man that had emerged from the lion's corpse took out his sword from plain air before sprinting towards the necromancer while wearing a battle-maniac expression.

*Shing*

When the two powers met, a dangerous shockwave, followed by an explosion, encompassed the whole forest.

The materialized Argen, used every drop of his [System's Energy] to shield his host. If Argen was not distracted before his host was eaten alive, he could have prevented the catastrophe of the teenager being eaten by activating this shield.

But it was only possible if he sacrifice his life-force. However, the damage was already done and he could only lament about it.

The two innocent bystanders, one unconscious and the other wide awake, were ignored by the two almighty beings.

'Sh*t sh*t sh*t! We'll die before the ten minutes are up! F*ck! Could you please battle somewhere else?!' Argen thought in a panic

*ding*

[System #901. Your host's condition has worsened and 2 minutes is now what remains of the available 7 minutes and 43 seconds you have spent within the 10 minutes. Your energy only has a drop remaining and because of that you will perish 32 seconds earlier than the host. Have a nice day] Back in the SA, the Rubik's cube let out a gloating snicker.

'Urgh...'

"YOU A*SHOLES!!!!" Argen couldn't help but let out his frustrations. However the two seemed to have either haven't heard his insult or just plain ignored it. They were exchanging blows after blows and it was constantly growing in intensity.

Soon enough, after a few seconds of trading violent blows, the two halted to gasp for air.

"I guess your momentum has faltered. Not even enough to literally destroy a country nor a mountain in a single slash."

"Tell that to the mirror you idiot! How can our powers not deplete after that continuous exchange for a friggin THOUSAND YEARS! Now our punches are only as strong as a mortal sissy! You know what? I'm sick of your face! That's why I pretended to be a beast just to shrug you off for breather. I took my act so well I even did cannibalism! Damn! Didn't you know you were that persistent on seeing me! Did you fall in love with me or something?"

"BULLSH*T! I just want to get rid of you once and for all! If your citizens whom revered you so much were to see you rambling trash and acting like sh*t, they'd suicide on the spot!!!"

"Shut up! Tell that to your undead kingdom! They can't even escape your dumb reign through dying! I pity them!"

"Y-you...!" The one who called himself Ruler of Necromancy spat blood in frustration. He regretted not learning trash talking well or else this exchange of insults would be a piece of cake!

The King of Sublime World let out a guffawing triumphant laugh. In terms of words, he has never lost.

Argen was incensed at these two's behavior. How dare they ignore an innocent victim?

'I'm going to die anyway. Might as well do some vengeance now.' The dying system's hands formed into a fist.

These two were both connected to the reason why he and his host were dying.

Firstly, the black robed chased the white one so bad that he decided to pretend to be THAT lion. The act was so good, his host just HAD to be there to prove his acting skills.

Great. Just wonderful.

There was a saying that a person's limits would be surpassed (or not) in the face of death.

'Let's try and see which category I belong in.'

However...

A dull sound of a bell reverberated through their eardrums. After that, an archaic voice permeated through the air.

"Didn't the ancient pact says no one from the top world echelons from both of the upper and lower realms were to step onto mine?!" The voice contained clear anger within it.

"This...!" The two beings were stumped and felt a massive suppression bearing down on them. The atmosphere was filled with killing intent directed at the two. "The will of this world?! How strong…!"

"And look what you've done to my protagonist? That's my very first protagonist to have inherited a system! Coming here and the first thing you kill is my first absolute genius! It was okay if he died in the hands of someone from this world. I understand it is the battle of the fittest. But y-you...! Furthermore the rulers of both the top echelons! I'll make you pay for that!" The voice roared in rage and suddenly, the skies grew dark and thunder and blood-red lightning enhanced the scary atmosphere.

"Senior...!" Trepidation was chewing away the two's hearts. "Please have mercy senior! We didn't know there was such a pact from our ancestors!" They begged.

Yes. They have never heard of such a pact.

Although they were indeed the rulers of the peak worlds, with their current pitiful strength, they couldn't even put up a fight against the will. If they were at their peaks, perhaps they might've stand a chance. But after a full thousand years combat, it was no wonder they were willing to beg for mercy.

They wondered how in the world did they do any harm to this world's protagonist when they never harmed a single human when they came. Suddenly the King of Sublime World remembered he seemed to have devoured one.

He was now draping in cold sweat as turned his head to look at the lion's corpse. He was about to scan the lion with his [Divine Scrutiny] when Argen spoke.

"He's here" Argen said with an indignant expression and moved his host out of the tree to let them get clear look at the poor boy.

'Oh? That busy-body person who minded our businesses? The one who called us a*sholes?' The two remembered Argen and shot him a complicated expression

"And who are you?" The necromancer asked to Argen while feeling wary.

"System #901 of this world's protagonist"

"Oh"

'This world really does have a system! Wait, but isn't the protagonist just an Earthly Martial 3? How did his system materialize? Unless...'

The King of Sublime World felt he was poured a bucket of icy-cold water. The necromancer saw the half-corpse of Argen's host and figured out how he met his demise. He snickered and sent a telepathy message to his opponent.

'Hahaha! You're doomed!' He gloated

"Shut up! You are also indirectly the cause!" The old voice replied as if he had heard of the telepathic message the necromancer sent.

Argen shot a death-glare towards the two.

"System #901. What do you propose for their punishment?" The voice felt, since Argen was the only one conscious among the victims, he should ask him.
