The Maniacal General With His Crazy System

Chapter 12 - Let me come out and speak!

"The thing that is attached to my Soul isn't harmful to me for now." Averill responded before explaining it shallowly. "I call it System."

Yao nodded as she listened to what Averill said. "Then if I'm not mistaken, you and the System are able to communicate? And, if it's in your Soul, the System would most likely be able to hear your thoughts and hear anything you say." Yao wasn't dumb, she had lived for over 600 years and has seen many many things with her own eyes and the many possible futures. There weren't many things that would shock her for too long.

"Indeed." Averill replied as a grin slowly appeared on his face. "Rather than that, I am more interested in something else. You said something about being able to see the possible futures, how are you able to do that?"

"Wait a second." Yao raised both of her hands as she waved it around, she made a portal to another room and then she extended her arm through the portal and grabbed something. After taking her hand out of the portal, the portal vanished, but a necklace was resting in her hand.

It was an amulet that looked like a golden eye with carvings on it. "This is the Eye of Agamotto, and inside of this 'eye' rests the so-called; Time Stone." Before Averill could say anything, Yao continued explaining. "When the universe was created, six stones were made they are named; Infinity Stones, they are basically the rules of how this universe can operate. This stone can control Time in any way, which has allowed me to foresee the possible futures." Yao explained in detail to Averill in a calm tone.

Averill still didn't speak any words, he raised his body from the ground and sat on a pillow, he gestured towards Yao to give him the 'Eye of Agamotto' which Yao handed it to him without any hesitation.

But the moment Averill touched the necklace a green aura from the necklace clashed with a seemingly invisible aura coming from Averill. The clash only lasted for a brief moment, yet a smirk appeared on Averill's face as one his eyebrows went upwards. Averill then closed his eyes, he didn't bother checking what the future had in store for him, rather than that, he was more interested in his past.

The moment Averill tried to see his own past; he could only see a darkness that swallowed everything. He was sitting in the darkness by himself, he couldn't sense anything else. Averill had no idea how long he was in the darkness, but he endured with a relaxed expression.

Whilst Averill was doing his own things, Yao gazed at the man who's calling himself Averill Kaiser. Averill was covered in two auras, both green and black, but the black aura didn't have an evil presence, but rather a soothing presence.

Yao gazed towards Averill's heart before speaking in a low tone. "With the short time I held the Infinity Stone I managed to check over a million possible futures, are you sure that you want Averill to find out his past?" Yao was seemingly asking the air, but something even weirder happened, a mechanical voice sounded out in the room.

[I will not restrain Host in any way; besides, you think a mere future possibility in this speck of a universe can comprehend the real abilities of Host?] The System's voice spread throughout the room, no one on Earth managed to feel its presence, but the entire universe was trembling the moment the System began to speak.

[Let me give you a warning. Host's mind is vulnerable for the time being, if you try to play any games with Host, the only outcome will be extermination of this universe with all of its alternative ones. Let me say it once again, this is not a threat, only an outcome of what will happen.] The System spoke once again before hiding its presence inside of Averill once again.

Yao was slightly confused, it was her who heard the System speak, but it felt like that the System wasn't speaking to her, but to someone else. But none of that mattered to Yao, she sighed and didn't think of what the System said. Yao began gazing at Averill who was still covered in the two auras, she extended her right hand as she slowly stroked Averill's face who still had a grin on his face.

A crestfallen expression appeared on Yao's face for the first time since she became the Sorcerer Supreme, she mumbled in a whisper. "I hope you won't be saddened by what the future has in hold for me." Yao could only see the possible futures till her own death, and in the past few days, she has seen over a hundred million possible futures till the time she died.

And in those hundred million possible futures, Yao only gazed at Averill, at times Averill would be crazy, at times he would be joyful, and at times it seemed like he was lonely. Yet no matter how much Yao tried to escape her fate, she would always die in the upcoming battle.

After a whole minute of stroking Averill's face did Yao retreat her hand. The green and black aura that were around Averill slowly vanished and it didn't take too long before Averill's eyes opened, his red eyes shined brightly as he gazed forward into Yao's eyes.

"Averill, did you remember anything?" Yao asked with a small smile on her face, her previous crestfallen expression was nowhere to be seen.

Averill's grin slowly vanished as a smirk replaced it. "Only darkness and a few emotions regarding it." Averill's smirk grew brighter for every second he thought of it, he could remember the emotions of cruelty, madness, despair and chaos regarding the darkness he was in. After having said what he wanted to say, he gave Yao the amulet back. "I don't need it anymore; I feel like it won't help me more than what it has done."

"Alright." Yao gave a nod as she replied with her usual small smile. An idea popped into Yao's mind as she stared into Averill's sharp eyes, but she could see more than anyone else in the world, she could see that Averill was tired. "Why don't you lie down, I will help you sleep." Yao's small smile turned brighter for a brief moment.

Averill furrowed his eyebrows slightly as his smirk vanished and his lips turned to its normal weird smile as a habit. "Heh, I will amuse you for now. Try to make me sleep then." Averill laid down once again as he looked at Yao with a mocking gaze.

But Yao didn't care about how Averill gazed at her, she placed her hand on top of Averill's head and touched his forehead and then slowly stroked his head whilst infusing her magic into his brain.
