The Maniacal General With His Crazy System

Chapter 11 - If you're looking, why can't I?

Averill gazed at the two men that were staring at him with sharp eyes, like he was their enemies. Averill's smile turned even brighter for some reason as he gazed at this happening.

And as Averill's smile turned brighter, both Karl Mordo and Wang felt threatened. Karl Mordo felt his body shivering and not enough with that, he felt a pressure slowly creeping towards him from the unknown man in the room, the pressure was more dangerous than anything he had felt before.

Yao was about to move, but before she could act, the pressure that came from Averill vanished, like it never existed in the first place. Yao gazed at the relaxed expression of Averill with his usual weird smile.

"Wang, Mordo." Yao placed her gaze at her two disciples before speaking in a slightly heavy tone. "This man that you spoke ill of is someone under our protection, is that clear?"

Whilst Wang, Mordo and Yao thought that Averill backed off because he didn't want to kill them, the real reason why Averill didn't kill Wang and Mordo was because the System spoke to him.

'System, what danger are you speaking of?' Averill asked in his thoughts.

[The dangers I spoke of is what is most likely to happen. If Host continue with killing the two men, a huge danger will arrive upon this Earth, and if that happens, Host's mission will be failed.] The System replied in order.

Averill turned around towards the window, both of his eyebrows furrowed for the first time since he arrived in this world a week ago. 'You're meaning there are some hidden dangers that will try to threaten me? Or… these two men will do something to help saving the world?' Averill asked the System, but he already knew the answer to his own question.

And as Averill knew the question, the System didn't bother answering Averill's question.

Only half a minute had passed by, but when Averill turned around again, he saw both men standing up and bowing their heads towards him whilst Yao standing in between him and them.

"We apologise, Mr Kaiser, we had no idea that you were seeking our protection." Karl Mordo apologised first, and after he finished, Wong did the same. But even as they said those words, they knew that the man didn't need anyone's protection, it seemed rather that the Sorcerer Supreme was watching the man, so he behave.

A mocking smile slowly appeared on Averill's face as he replied with a soothing voice. "Don't worry about it. The two of you will do your parts sooner than later anyways."

Fury the director of S.H.I.E.L.D was sitting on a char in a house that wasn't his, he had been sitting there for half an hour, and as he gazed at his clock a smile showed on his face.

The door of the house opened, and a figure of a man entered the house, and behind him, half a dozen figures walked in too.

Fury stood up from the chair and gazed at the man that walked in the house, it was a man with grey hair tied up in a pony-tail, he was wearing a golden robe and he had markings on his face.

The people behind the man was about to attack, but the man leading them raised his hand to stop them. "I didn't know that S.H.I.E.L.D would be interested in us, we are even greeted by its director, hahaha." The man began laughing.

Fury looked at them, half of the plan had already been completed as he wasn't attacked. He had half a dozen snipers around the building and dozens of armed soldiers surrounding the entrance by now, but it seemed like he wouldn't need to use them at all. "It is good that you've heard of us and me, I won't need to explain it to you then. It seems like we have the same goal, don't we, Kaecilius." Fury saw that the people behind Kaecilius were surprised, but Kaecilius himself wasn't shocked at all.

Kaecilius gazed at Fury as a smile appeared on his face. "Same goal? What are you talking about?"

"The Ancient One, and a new threat that the Ancient One is protecting." Fury threw a file towards Kaecilius.

Kaecilius began reading the file, at first he wasn't interested, but a frown slowly appeared on his face as he read more. Anger could be seen on his face as he ripped the file into two with his hands. "How can she do something like that?!" Kaecilius's voice was cold and his eyes narrowed, he gazed at Fury before saying. "It seems like some of our goals are indeed the same. What are you planning?"

Whilst Fury and Kaecilius were speaking, Yao and Averill spoke to each other too.

"Do you have any memories at all regarding your past?" Yao asked as she hovered her hands on top of Averill's head, golden sparks could be seen from her hands.

Averill was laying on the ground, he rested his head on the pillow as he kept his eyes closed.

"No." Averill replied with a single word, he didn't have any memories of himself in the past, but he could feel what he was like. Almost like it was carved inside of him, how he would act, how he would smile and how he would think.

Yao sighed as she couldn't find any clues either, she began moving her hands towards Averill's heart before scanning his soul. "Averill… Do you know that something is attached to your Soul? It doesn't seem like a parasite from what I can tell." This was one of the few things that confused Yao the most, how could something be attached to someone else's Soul and help them even more without any danger?

It was then that Averill opened his eyes slowly, he gazed up into Yao's eyes that seemed to shine brightly. And as Averill gazed into Yao's green eyes, Yao was also gazing into Averill's red eyes.
