The Maniacal General With His Crazy System

Chapter 59 - I don't want that one...

A powerful aura began to gush out of Averill like an erupted volcano. And almost like Amenadiel's power to stop time, the mere presence of Averill's full burst of his aura made the Universe almost stop in time. The space around of Averill began cracking, the planet he was standing was slowly but surely crumbling by the mere presence of Averill's aura.

The army of angels stood face to face against Averill, none of them were afraid, because they knew, that God was on their side. And just like they thought, a force of power appeared behind the Angels to suppress Averill's merciless aura that seemed to destroy the Universe.

No words were spoken, but everyone on the battlefield knew; a bloody war was coming up…

"Ahahahaha! System, NOW!" Averill wasn't able to hold his laughter in any longer, he laughed uncontrollably as he still used his aura on full force. His right hand was itching, wanting to grab onto something. Nor did Averill or the System knew what kind of weapon Averill was most used to, but Averill had a solution for that, he would use all of them till he finds what he is most comfortable with.

[As you command, Host.] The System knew what Averill was trying to do, and as the System heard of Averill's request, the System will do its best to help Averill.

Averill gazed in front of him, the marching army of angels were coming his way. It was almost like a moving mountain coming his way, but Averill didn't hesitate either as he began running forward towards them.

In mere moments, Averill was in front of the first few angels that were leading the army. They wore large armour and holding onto huge swords, lances and spears. A merciless grin appeared on Averill's face as he suddenly grabbed onto the air with his right hand, and just as he clenched his hand, a weapon appeared in his right hand. It was a long white dagger with a slight curve and one edged blade.

And with a swift movement, Averill flickered his hand and cut the first few angels in front of him. The speed Averill used as much faster than what the angels could react to, and with only that brief moment, three angels in the front were cut into pieces, their armours couldn't block the dagger in Averill's hand.

"Give me the next one!" Averill roared out loudly as he threw the dagger towards an archer not too far away, the dagger cut through the air before going through the archer's eye and killing another few angels behind him.

A red longsword suddenly appeared in Averill's left hand, he used his left hand to block a couple incoming attacks from the angels in front of him that had taken the spots from the dead ones.

What Averill did not notice as he was too into his battle was that the white long dagger he threw away, had vanished into thin air. The System was monitoring everything that Averill was doing, and from the single slash and throw with the dagger, the System could tell that Averill was very efficient in using the long dagger. There was also something Averill did not know that the System had refrained from saying; that the weapons the System was giving out was not something it had created…

Averill simply pierced through with his longsword through an angel before slashing sideways, cutting half of the angel he had pierced before slashing onto another angel that stood not too far away.

"NEXT!" Averill roared in a tone filled with joy and annoyance. Averill could have easily killed all of these angels, but he refrained from doing it, as he wanted to experiment which weapon he was most comfortable with whilst battling.

A mace appeared in Averill's right hand that was empty, and the red longsword in his left hand suddenly vanished. Averill used brute force to swipe to the side with the mace, not hitting a single angel, but from the brute force alone, a sharp wind cut through the air before cutting through half a dozen angels.

Averill suddenly turned around, he saw an angel aiming a spear at him, ready to attack him. Averill upped his speed and raised his mace before smashing downwards towards the angel's face, crushing his face into paste.

"No, no, no! Next!" Averill yelled out as he threw away the mace away, he felt that he was good with the weapons he had used, but there was something missing.

Slowly but surely, Averill used different weapons, short swords, dual wielding daggers, two handed bastard swords, spears, halberds, glaives, bow and arrow, staff, brawling gloves and many more types of weapons…

Half of the angel army had fallen, but not a single scratch had appeared on Averill's body expect the blood that was covering his entire body. The battleground was reeking of blood and corpses, but none of the angels were hesitating to continue fighting, they were all prepared to fight with their lives on the line.

"NO!!" Averill had enough, he had tried hundreds of weapons, he was excellent in using all of them too, but he didn't feel comfortable using any. Averill was slowly but surely getting annoyed, he was feeling close, yet so far away at the same time.

Anger was slowly boiling up in Averill as he continued to fight and throw away the weapons that didn't seem to be the one he looked after. The aura that surrounded Averill was slowly growing stronger and more vicious, the breaking of the planet and the space around Averill began hastening.

The expressions of the angels and the one hiding not too far away couldn't help but be shocked. They had thought that Averill was fighting with everything he had, yet they only understood now, that Averill had been holding back the entire time…
