The Maniacal General With His Crazy System

Chapter 58 - Gimme that thingy

Whilst Averill was far away from Earth and fighting the angels, some stuff had happened on Earth too…

On Bruce's side, he had finally managed to get in contact with Superman that was holding himself inside of the sun. "I don't care what reasons you have to stay in the sun for so long, but you need to come back now before it is too late." Bruce gave that message to Superman before turning away to continue gathering heroes. He had been awake for over two days, and he wouldn't rest till everything is done.

And as Bruce was about to do his own stuff, he heard a voice behind him. "I am already here, Bruce."

Bruce turned around and saw a large man standing in front of him. A white tall man with lots of muscles on his body, his brown hair was rather short and his blue eyes shined brightly. He was only wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. And Bruce knew it at once who this man was, he was well known across the entire world as Superman. The person who was a saviour, a person who helped others, just like a merciful God because of his miraculous powers. Lifting mountains, laser eyes, ice-cold breath, body of steel, and much more.

But Bruce wasn't happy, he spoke once again, his deep and hoarse voice sounded out like a hammer hitting a nail. "You're late, you must have noticed the appearance of that fellow; Averill and his two sidekicks, then why didn't you come until now?!" Bruce, a normal person was able to feel the appearance of Averill, how couldn't Superman know about it even whilst staying cooped up in the sun do that?

Superman, or known to a few people; Clark Kent, was gazing at his friend who was speaking out in anger. Clark didn't get angry, he admitted it to himself, that he had responded too late. But it wasn't all for naught either… "Bruce, don't worry. With the time I have spent in the sun, I have grown stronger. The reason I needed this strength is because…" Clark went silent for a bit, he had held this a secret till now. "Aliens are on their way to Earth, strong ones on top of that. When I first found out about that, I wasn't sure that I could deal with them by myself, which I why I went to the sun to get stronger, I am sorry, I should have trusted you and the others…" An apologetic expression appeared on Clark Kent's face.

Clark Kent was upset and angry at himself, because he had kept it a secret and stayed cooped up in the sun, he had to watch people lose their lives…

"But, this Averill guy, I could see him and hear him, but I wasn't able to sense him… How strong is he?" Clark asked Bruce in a slightly lighter tone, he had to keep his will strong so he could face forward and do what he should do; save people.

"Overwhelming." Bruce only said one word whilst his eyes squinted slightly before he began explaining. "From the explanation from Flash, the speed of Averill is at least ten times faster than Flash as he ran at around 3 Mach, which means that his speed is at least 30 Mach. And that is not all, his physical strength might be on par with yours. Averill hasn't shown too many abilities, but he has a type of suppression power."

As Clark was thinking of what Bruce had just said, Bruce continued speaking. "Not only that, his two followers seem to be strong too. The woman whose name is Laura managed to beat Wonder Woman, and the bald man managed to beat Hal. And from what I heard and saw their injuries, they got defeated without being able to defend themselves."

Bruce didn't bother sighing; he only gave a deep grumble before speaking once again. "They are merely playing with us; they are too strong for us to even handle. But, no matter what, I will catch them…!" Bruce spoke in a deep voice, what he was saying was as much for himself and to Clark at the same time.

A small smile appeared on Clark's face; he knew that expression which was showing on Bruce's face. Determination, determination was shown on Bruce's face, which meant one thing for Clark, that Bruce was brewing up a plan to defeat the three unknown people that had arrived on Earth.

Somewhere far away from Earth, Averill was standing in front of the angel whose name is Amenadiel. Blood was flowing from Amenadiel's eyes and onto his cheeks before falling towards the ground. And Averill was simply smiling brightly at this sight.

This was because Amenadiel had tried to attack Averill like a maniac, but Averill simply stopped him with his usage of aura. "Tell me one thing, are you dumb or stupid?" Averill continued to mock him, but Averill was honestly intrigued to find out what the man in front of him was; stupid or dumb. That was because who would be stupid enough to fight someone that had just killed thousand of others…

"I will never forgive you!" Amenadiel bellowed in a deep voice as he stood tall in front of Averill, all of the pain the was feeling didn't mean anything to his anger and wrath. "Arggh!" Amenadiel bellowed a roar, and as he did that, the entire Universe once again stopped… But he knew that the man in front of him wouldn't be affected by it, yet that wasn't Amenadiel's goal at all.

Other than being able to stop time, Amenadiel was an Archangel, he was created to be a warrior for the Army of God. And the Army of God wasn't something that could be taken lightly, but Amenadiel also had a hidden ability that not many people knew, something that would make anyone jealous…

Amenadiel closed his eyes as he focused. 'Father, I know that you are able to see this happening, why won't you send your army, Father? You must have noticed, this being isn't from our Universe, and he is a threat towards it. And Lucifer…' Before Amenadiel could finish, the Universe began moving once again, but it didn't only move as normal, the entire Universe started to tremble.

"…" Averill slowly raised his head and gazed towards what was behind Amenadiel. Averill's fingers began twitching again, but not like previously, this time, his fingers were twitching uncontrollably.

The bright smile on Averill's face broke for the first time, and what replaces the bright smile was something else… The lips of Averill widened to each side and parted its way from each other, his teeth were showing. And he couldn't help but to narrow his eyelids to the point only the iris and pupils could be seen, and his eyebrows jumped up and down.

"AHAHAHAHA!" Averill then burst out in laughter whilst gazing at the scene in front of him. Tens of thousand of angels had suddenly arrived behind of Amenadiel, and each of them were around at the same strength of Amenadiel. They were all wearing white armour and holding onto different types of weapons. But that wasn't all, Averill could also sense a presence of something much stronger gazing at him.

"HEY System!" Averill roared out to his System in a tone and voice of a child who would use when getting a new toy to play with. And before the System could say anything, Averill continued to speak. "Give me weapons!" The tone Averill was using could still show forth the joy that he was not even holding back or trying to hide.
