The Maniacal General With His Crazy System

Chapter 74 - It looks nice, I want it, give me it!

*BOOM!* Saitama got punched on the face before being hurled over a thousand meters back as he crashed onto the sand before rolling even further away.

Saitama stood up swiftly, but before he could do anything else, Spectre had already shown up in front of him and ready to punch him yet again. Saitama's body was bruised up badly and his eyes were hazy.

But before Spectre managed to punch Saitama once again, someone else suddenly appeared like a flash before vanishing. And the moment Spectre punched the place Saitama stood previously at, he had vanished.

"Why are the two of you still trying to fight back?" Spectre spoke out in a deep voice as he turned around and gazed at Laura and Saitama.

Laura was holding onto the shoulder of Saitama to hold him up, but Laura wasn't in a better situation either without being injured. She had been running at her highest speed without any pause for a long time. "…" Laura still had a solemn expression and her cold eyes continued to gaze at Spectre, but sweat was running down her face like a waterfall.

Saitama's was able to hear something, his eyelids went up faster than light as he yelled. "DAMN IT!" He then pushed Laura far away from himself, and the moment he did that, the area around himself blew up in an explosion.

A fierce fire appeared around of Saitama; the flames were hotter than the sun.

After being pushed by Saitama, Laura was able to escape those flames that seemed to even burn the planet. But Laura wasn't looking at the flames, but high up in the air where she saw half a dozen or so similar looking people to Spectre. 'Clones…' Laura was able to tell that they were his clones as they all had same type of magic inside of them.

*Bang!* Once again the area surrounding Saitama shook, but this time; the entire planet trembled. And like it never existed, the flames vanished. Saitama appeared in the middle of the area, his left foot was planet on the ground, he had stomped the ground so hard that it had blown away the flames.

Saitama's body wasn't burnt yet his skin was slightly red from the flames. He stood straight and his muscles were clearly showing, his red skin peeled off before another layer of skin appeared which looked healthy and shiny. Even whilst being exhausted, Saitama didn't show any hints of exhaustion as he stood in front of Spectre and the half dozen ones that stood in the sky.

From what Saitama could tell, all of them were just as strong as the Spectre he was fighting right now. Yet Saitama didn't have any thoughts of stepping back, he silently stood there, staring at Spectre, ready to fight once again. 'Laura has the same thoughts as me… I haven't sensed or heard her moving yet.' Saitama didn't have time to turn around as he could feel it, if he turned around, he would get attacked by Spectre and the clones above of himself.

"Are you able to see it now? No matter how brave you are and how much you try, you will not be able to defeat me." Spectre spoke in a rather calm voice; Spectre has over a dozen clones around the Universe.

"… You're a clone, aren't you?" Laura asked in a slightly annoyed tone as she couldn't feel any difference between Spectre and the other clones.

Spectre stood there silently for a little while before he chuckled. "I thought that a single clone would be able to deal with you Outsiders, but it seems like I was mistaken." Spectre didn't deny what Laura had asked, but just like Laura was annoyed; he was also annoyed by himself. He is one of the strongest beings in the Universe, yet he couldn't manage to deal with Laura and Saitama who aren't even the strongest of the group of Outsiders that had entered this Universe.

"Laura, are you able to escape?" Saitama didn't bother lowering his voice as he asked this, but even whilst asking; his eyes were glued on the Spectre and the other clones of himself.

And before Laura could even answer, Saitama continued. "Run and find Averill. I will stall them for as long as I am able to!" The tone Saitama used was more solemn that what he usually uses, but that was because he wasn't able to find a possible way to defeat half a dozen of people like Spectre when one of them is stronger than himself. 'Laura only needs to find Averill, no matter how strong Spectre is, he isn't as strong as Averill.' No matter how much he was beaten by Spectre, Saitama didn't feel the same helplessness as when he fought against Averill.

As Laura was about to turn around and run, she heard a voice in her head. 'Don't run!' Laura was able to tell that the owner of the voice was Harleen. Barely a millisecond later, she heard another voice in her head. 'If you try to run, both you and Saitama will be defeated within a minute.' This time Laura heard Jack's voice in her head.

Laura furrowed her eyebrows, but it didn't take long before Jack continued speaking in her head. 'Use your speed and fight the clones to the best of your ability. The more you disable them from attacking Saitama, the better it will get, do you understand!?'

On the other side, Jack and Harleen had at least been able to find out a way so they won't get killed that easily by Spectre and the clones that suddenly appeared. And when Saitama told Laura to run away, was the moment that Harleen and Jack denied their plan as they knew it was a trap set up by Spectre.

"Spectre wants them to split, he would be easier able to deal with them when they are alone." Harleen commented before she spoke into the portal as her voice entered both Laura and Saitama's head. 'Do not split apart, that is what Spectre wants.'

"Ahaha, that is true, but Saitama and Laura are underestimating the worth they have for each other in this battle!" Jack laughed as he could rather easily tell that Laura and Saitama were a good combination in a fight as they supplemented each other. Jack then also spoke into the portal to speak with Saitama and Laura who was still standing still. 'Spectre is afraid that the two of you will continue fighting together, which is why he showed his clones like that! Ahahaha, what a smart yet dumb man! Stick together if you want to live, I will find a way for the two of you to survive. But for now, Saitama, fight with everything you have, and Laura, you stall as many clones you can from attacking Saitama. Fight till Averill arrives, ahahhaha!'

And far away, Averill was smiling brightly as he gazed at everything happening. "I was wrong, it seemed like they don't even have 10% to win. I am happy with their improvements. Though, Spectre really thinks low of me…" Averill's already sharp eyes narrowed slightly as he stared at Spectre who had not only mocking his soldiers, but also him.

Averill tilted his head to the left and right as it cracked slightly before a viscous grin appear on his face as he muttered. "His main body might not be here, but I can at least steal the strength his clones have…!"

[Does Host want to accept another mission?] The System asked in a voice at a perfect timing, at least that was what it had thought.

"Give me it." Averill accepted without needing to think more about it, he could guess what he would get as a reward from the situation in front of him.

After having gotten his weapons, he didn't need a superficial ability that is not useful to him. Yet what he could tell might be good are the Abilities and Powers Spectre was using.

[Mission; kill Spectre's clones. The reward for being able to accomplish the mission are his Abilities and Powers. The punishment for not being able to accomplish the mission is that Host will be sent back to his Domain alone and not being able to come back to this Universe.] The System spoke out in a monotone voice.

The moment the System's voice ended, Averill had already vanished from his spot.
