The Old Knight of a Frontier District

Episode 4: Angels and Bandits (Part I)

1

I broke up with an old pharmacist woman and became alone again.

The time is close to evening.

I entered the village where I could see it in front of me.

There is a river by the village.

It's a river full of water.

This river is not flowing from the mountains where there are great barriers.

If so, the water flows from east to west.

The river runs from north to south.

It's a tributary of the Great River Ova.

That means the fish swimming should be a lot different than before.

Ova fish are very varied and good.

I'm looking forward to it.

Ugh, Stabolos.

And I talked to the old horse carrying the load, but of course I haven't heard back.

Only the name was known village.

I thought it was a smaller village, but it was surprisingly populated by a large number of people, up to the Joint Canteen Inn (Ganz).

Gantz was busy.

I connected Stabolos to the horse connection, went inside the inn, and asked if I could stay.

"Whoa, that's okay.

There's just one room empty.

Still, you, you're in luck.

I can't believe I'm staying here on a day like this. "

A lot in a good mood, the general said, "What do you mean by luck?"

"Oh, you didn't know.

The king has been crowned!

Well, you're a fine king.

You can come to such a country village.

Everyone who comes here today will be sifted one drink at a time.

With the mercy of His Majesty King Wendelland!

I want you to finally have a drink. "

It was honey liquor diluted with water.

It didn't taste very good, but I can't complain about the stuff.

Three times before I drank that one, I toasted the new King Wendeland.

And after ordering distilled liquor at my own expense, I heard about King Wendelland.

The general explained to Bardo how things depended as she worked busily here and there.

Beyond the River Ova, there is the Kingdom of Parzam.

The kingdom of Parzam, which was at war with other powers, won last year.

The war was a great battle, with Prince Wang and many other princes dead, but at the end of the day, Prince Wendeland commanded the army and won.

Prince Wendeland triumphed and became a hero, but an elderly, hospital bed king died in peace.

Who shall the next king be?

Prince Wendeland, older than Prince Wang, had great popularity and merit, was not thought of as a possible successor to the throne because of his mother's low status.

But now the prince is a hero of salvation, with high military support.

Eventually, it was decided that Wendeland would take the throne, and a year after the victory and the death of the previous king, a crowning ceremony was held.

Wanting to convey widely the joy of victory and crowning, the king is sending angels everywhere to preach a new policy of governance while giving them a blessing.

It was such a thing that the general explained.

While in such a rural village, it is a terrible gathering of information.

Baldo also knew that the Kingdom of Parzam had won the war and that its useful actor, Prince Wendeland, would succeed to the throne, but the information on this dame was more detailed than that.

Bardo, I'm out.

The border is too wide, too far from Parzam, and the villages and cities are too sparse.

To collect taxes, to send soldiers, to cloth the law, is badly inconvenient, and doesn't fit the bill.

Until now, not only Parzam, but also a number of countries, have declared possession of parts of the eastern border of this continent.

But no country has ruled effectively.

Ova the Great River refuses to do so.

What is somewhat realistic is the appointment of a powerful lord as an agent to govern indirectly, but that has already been done not only by Parzam, but by a number of countries.

I'm going, but I'm not functioning.

One force map after another will be rewritten on the ground without the great powers being able to grasp or control it.

It is not uncommon for villages and cities to be wiped out by warcraft raids and natural disasters.

After all, only a handful of people come and go and interact commercially with the countries of the central part of the continent until now.

There are several countries west of the Ova River, but only the Kingdom of Parzam has set up a trading village by the river.

As long as we cross the river from here, we can make a deal.

If you take a carriage from the trading village, you can also go to Parzam's home country.

People who want to do academia or fly a flag in the city aspire to Parzam.

On the eastern border of the continent, the name of the kingdom of Parzam is spoken with a little intimacy and appreciation.

Even if the wine is scattered here, it will be forgotten in three days, such as the king's name.

It's a strange thing.

As he pinched the meal thinking, etc., the stiffness in the tavern suddenly subsided.

It's because a knight in a fine outfit came in.

The knight inquired in a tense young voice.

"Everybody, I'm sorry to keep you relaxed!

Is there a pharmacist or someone familiar with the disease?

Priest Bari Toad, the special border angel, is in a hurry.

My hands and feet suddenly got cold, complained of severe headaches, and now I'm high fever and unconscious.

Can anyone help me? "

There is no such thing as a pharmacist in a country like this.

If we go back to Linz, we have a pharmacist, but no one can help the priest who seems to be in danger right now.

No one wants to be involved with knights from across the river.

Bardo offered to get up and ask about the symptoms.

When I asked the knight if he was a pharmacist, he replied, "I am not a pharmacist, but if I think it is a disease, I must strike my hand immediately."

Bardo was immediately taken to the village chief's house.

The village chief himself is absent.

He is out to arrange quarters, etc. by communicating the arrival of the angel to the next village.

The village chief's wife is in daughter-in-law's place for the birth of her daughter, and this is also absent.

There are just two girls at home who take care of meals and other things, and they can't handle the priest's sudden illness.

The young knight explained that some of the villagers might have knowledge of medicine and went to the liquor store with the slightest suspicion.

There was an elderly knight by the priest that he was a special angel.

The young knight briefly explained, and the older knight bowed his head to Bardo, asking him to say hello.

A good look at the priest's condition was not symptomatic due to Geriadra.

It was a well-known disease in the area called "overnight fever".

The pharmacist's old woman told me the strange theory that mosquitoes carry under the disease.

I am surprised because of the sudden high fever, but it usually heals in a couple of days even if I let it go.

Sometimes when the heat is just too high, you fall unconscious and lose your life, or part of your body stops moving.

Bardo explained that he was not an incumbent pharmacist, but this was the case in my clinic.

In the meantime, there are hot and cold herbs, so it is important to be able to prescribe them if you like, and also to keep the room warm and moisturized.

And the old knight said again, Please, and Bardo crushed the herb, and fried it, and gave it to the sick with a mouthful of smoke.

Fortunately, the sick, they took both medicine and water.

A pan with a fire bowl and water was brought in and the bedroom got hot with hot air.

Bardo, sweating, took care of the sick.

A young knight helped by showing unexpected skill.

The two squires also worked well.

The elderly knight watched over the priest the whole time, without leaving the room.

In a hot room, without breaking clothes and posture.

After midnight and a massive amount of nasty smelling sweat, my body calmed down and began to rest in peace.

The elderly knight hung a noisy voice with him and instructed him to take a break in alternation.

By dawn the fever had also dropped, and all the signs of the disease had disappeared.

It will be all right now, says Bardo, the elderly knight bothered to get up from the chair and give a toast to Bardo.

"This is serious.

You have nothing to be thankful for.

Speaking of which, I hadn't heard your name yet "

In the name of his first name, the older knight,

"The Knight of the People (Gardegasi Guerra)"

and loosened his face slightly.
