The Pokemon Emissary Among Worlds

Chapter 40 - Grand Opening (3)

Okami was very busy shaking hands with all the guests as they led him outside to eat. He realized that everything went smoothly and his guests were totally entertained with the event. Soon, everyone was happily eating their foods.

Okami approached Hiruzen who was together with the elders and asked, "Did you enjoy your time here, Hokage-sama?"

Hiruzen smiled. "Yes, Okami-kun. There are many novel things I've found here in this shop. I'm already old but this was my first time seeing those things."

"I've heard your story from the Hokage. Don't worry, you can build your clan safely inside the village," Homura added.

Koharu gave him a reassuring pat on his shoulders. "Keep up the good work, young man."

Okami turned around and signaled Tomiro to come forward. The grown man complied with his instruction and carried the package to him.

"This is for you, Hokage-sama." Okami lifted the box and opened it. He shifted his gaze towards the two elders and said, "Sorry, I can't give you any gift. I'm currently low in resources."

Hiruzen accepted the box and saw that it contained each of the four goods that were sold in the PokeMart. "Why, thank you for this wonderful gift, Okami-kun."

Homura laughed. "No worries, young man. Just you thinking of giving us something means a lot to us."

"That's right," Koharu agreed.

Okami then asked his permission to leave and was about to go to Team Akira's direction when Hiashi Hyuga, Tsume Inuzuka, and Shibi Aburame blocked his way.

"That was a good presentation, Okami-kun," Hiashi complimented him and gave him a reassuring smile.

"That's how a young man should act!" Tsume grinned and gave him a thumbs-up. "I definitely approve. If I have a daughter, I could marry her off to you."

Okami coughed when he heard Tsume's direct proposal. "I'm too young to think of such things. Anyway, what can I do for you?"

Hiashi paused a bit before stating his question. "It's this. Do you already know about our clan's Jutsu?"

Okami nodded. "I have a Hyuga friend, Rinan. I've seen him used his Taijutsu and Dojutsu while he sparred against my pokemon. Too bad, he loses the fight."

Hiashi was wide-eyed, not believing that the talented Rinan Hyuga who was almost as talented as his brother's son, Neji, was defeated by the pokemon. "Rinan Hyuga? How was he defeated?"

Okami shrugged his shoulders. "Better ask him that question. Anyway, what about your clan?"

Hiashi coughed a bit when he realized that he got off track. "Since you are familiar with our Jutsu, then it's easier for me to ask what I wanted to know. Can you explain the reasons behind the colors of the chakra while someone is being turned into a Pokemon trainer?"

"Oh, that. To make this clearer, let me compare it with the chakra nature. As everyone knows, chakra natures have different types, the common ones are fire, wind, earth, lightning, and water. They have their own strengths and weaknesses like 'fire' being strong against 'wind' but weak against 'water'. This is also the case with the Pokemon typing, which are represented by the colors it possesses."

"In the case of Choza Akimichi, what does the pink color stands for?"

"Ah, Mr. Mime. Actually, the color borders within the range of pink and violet since the barrier pokemon has two typings - Psychic and Fairy. Psychic types are strong against Poison and Fighting while being weak against Steel and Psychic. It does no damage against the Dark types. On the other hand, Fairy types are strong against Fighting, Dragon, and Dark types while being weak against Fire, Poison, and Steel."

Hiashi described the things he had seen inside Choza's body and how the pink-colored chakra was assimilated inside the Chakra Pathway System. He further added that the pink color did not dissipate at all.

Okami acted calmly but was actually bewildered inside his mind. He never expected that the Starter pokemon changed Choza's chakra nature.

"Ah, that's pretty normal. Please activate your Dojutsu and observe Shikaku-san, Inoichi-san, Naruto, Tomiro-san, Koga-kun, and Baki-san. Tell me what the colors of their Chakra Pathway System are."

Hiashi followed his instructions and did a hand seal and said, "Byakugan." He then observed the people who Okami enumerated and his expression changed every time he finished inspecting a person.

Tsume just stared at them while eating some barbecues while Shibi was looking at Okami the entire time.

Once Hiashi was done, he deactivated the Jutsu and faced Okami. "The color really changed when one becomes a Pokemon trainer. Inoichi has light blue and violet, Shikaku has dark pink, Tomiro and Baki both have white, Koga has light green and violet, and Naruto has Red and Dark brown colors."

Okami nodded. "Indeed. Shikaku-san has psychic while Inoichi-san has flying and poison. Tomiro-san and Baki-san both have normal ones while Koga has bug and poison. The last one, Naruto has the fire and dark type."

"Will it affect the way they fight?" Tsume interrupted them as she was getting more curious about pokemon.

Okami shook his head. "Not a bit. Instead, it adds varieties to their way of fighting. Although one has to consider the additional typing to take advantage of the enemies' weakness."

Hiashi analyzed what he had heard. "Does it mean that Choza's chakra also possesses the Psychic and Fairy types?"

Okami nodded. "That would be the case, Hiashi-san."

"Well, can you reserve a slot for me? I want someone from the Hyuga clan like Rinan to become a Pokemon trainer."

Okami gave him a sorry look and said, "You have to make the request to the Hokage, Hiashi-san. Rest assured, once the Hokage agrees I will reserve a slot for you right away."

Hiashi smiled. "That's alright. I'll just ask him right now. Thank you for your time, Okami-kun."

Tsume was about to leave when she remembered something and asked, "Do you have any dog pokemon with you?"

"As of now, I don't have one but there are lots of dog pokemon varieties to choose from. Even some are of legendary grading."

"Legendary?"

"It's like how we ranked the ninjas, there's also a rank concerning pokemon. Legendary and Mythical are the strongest and rarest of them all."

"Then inform me once you have one. I'd like to try having a Pokemon by my side."

Okami agreed and saw the three of them walking towards Hiruzen's direction. Once he knew that he was free to go, he quickly approached Team Akira.

"Hey, look who's coming to visit us? The king himself!" Nori laughed at her own joke. "Hah! You acted like a clan head that time, Okami!"

Akira chuckled. "But he is the current head of the Ketchum clan, Nori. Make sure to treat him with respect."

"Hey! You owe me a slot. Turn me into a Pokemon trainer! And don't tell me I still have to ask the Hokage about it!" Rinan complained to him as he glimpsed at Koga from time to time. "If he wants the bugs, then give me the birds!"

Koga was making a weird baby sounds as he talked to Weedle, his smile was getting wider as time passed by.

Okami nodded. "Of course, Rinan. How about next week?"

Rinan looked at Akira and pleaded, "Let me have a day-off. Akira-sensei!"

"What's the magic word?" Akira asked in a teasing manner.

Rinan had a blank face. "What magic word?"

Nori understood what Akira was referring to and clarified it to Rinan. "The magic words are 'Please', 'Thank you', and 'Welcome'."

"Why does it have to be so hard?!" Rinan refuted as he folded his arms on his c.h.e.s.t.

Nori glared at him while her hands akimbo. "Saying them is hard?!"

Rinan looked like he was struggling in a life-and-death situation before facing Akira. "Let me have a day off, please!"

Nori wagged her fingers. "Nope! That's too loud. You should say it gently. Repeat!"

Akira grinned. "Listen to Nori. I will only agree if you listen to her."

"Then let me have a day-off, pl...ple...please."

"That's good enough. Sure, you can have a day-off. What should your reply be?" Akira asked.

"Tha...thank..thank you."

Nori laughed as she rubbed her eyes. "Hah! That's f.u.c.k.i.n.g funny!"

Okami chuckled. "Well, how about Monday next week?"

Rinan had a dark countenance. "Fine! I want Pidgey as my starter!"

Okami gave him a thumbs-up. "A good choice. Your Dojutsu compliments the pokemon's sharp eyesight. Anyway, I still have to go visit the others. Thank you for coming here, Team Akira."

Everyone bade goodbyes except Koga who was still in his own world.

Okami walked towards the location where Team 7, Team 8, and Team 10 were gathered.

"Enjoying the meal?" Okami asked.

"The...best!" Naruto almost could not speak because his mouth was full.

Choji nodded as he left to refill his plates with food. Shikamaru followed him.

"Free meals are the best, right, Akamaru?" Kiba asked Akamaru as he looked down, which elicited a bark from the puppy.

Okami shifted his gaze to Hinata and asked, "How about you, Hinata-chan? Are you enjoying today?"

"Yes...Yes, Okami-kun. Thank you...for...inviting me," Hinata answered as she looked around, clearly avoiding his gaze.

"You're welcome."

Ino's gaze kept changing from Sasuke to Okami then back to Sasuke as if she was in a great predicament. Sakura noticed how she acted and frowned.

"Hey, Okami-kun. Can I ask you some question?" Ino finally asked him after a long struggle.

Okami tilted his head slightly. "What is it, Ino-chan?"

"Uh...do you have a girlfriend?"

Okami was not ready for this question although he was experienced with it because many girls proposed to him back on Earth. But he felt that liking these young girls with a mind of a 30-year-old was not okay for him. He could consider having one if Tsunade proposed to him.

"Well, to answer your question, nope, I don't have a girlfriend. In the future, yes. But right now, my priority is building my clan."

Ino blushed as she kept on changing her glance from Sasuke to Okami.

Okami saw this and suspected that Ino was thinking of having her reverse harem with Sasuke and himself as the two male leads. He forcefully removed these perverted thoughts inside his mind.

"Stop daydreaming, Ino-pig!" Sakura bellowed as if she was facing her greatest enemy.

"What did you say, forehead girl?!" Ino rebutted.

Everyone disregarded the two kunoichis who were busy arguing with each other.

Shino excused himself and went to Team Akira's direction.

Okami looked at Sasuke who was alone while holding the pokeball. He approached him and greeted. "Hey, Sasuke-kun. Why are you alone here?"

"Does it matter?" Sasuke was in his deep thoughts as he stared at the pokeball. After a few minutes, he lifted his gaze and looked at Okami. "Can pokemon make me stronger?"

Okami nodded. "Yes, Sasuke-kun. In fact, I have a pokemon here that nullifies fire attacks."

Sasuke snorted because he believed that Fire Jutsus were very strong. "I don't believe it!"

Okami summoned Vulpix and introduced him to Sasuke. "This is my Vulpix. Wanna try? You can execute a Fire Release against me to see if what I am saying is the truth."

"Hah! How about we have a spar right now? You can use all your pokemon against me, I know you can't defeat me."

"Sure. I need some demonstrators and our spar can be considered as one. Follow me."

Okami moved towards the entrance of the Pokemon Center. "Everyone, I hope I can gather everyone's attention. This time, several demonstrators will show you what a pokemon can do. The first one is a friendly spar against Sasuke and me."

The pokemon and guests formed a circle with Sasuke and Okami at the center of the formation. At first, the ninjas were hesitant to be closed to a pokemon but when they saw that the pokemon were friendly, their hesitation was gone. An Abra was beside Shikamaru who was sleepy while a Kangaskhan was standing between Inoichi and Shikaku. Everyone was gathered like they were used to it for a long time.

Hiruzen stepped forward and raised his voice. "I'll act as the referee of this event. Jounins will be on standby to assure that everyone is safe. Remember, this is only a friendly spar. Let the battle begin."
