A new entity? Okami fervently gazed at Bunny as he thought of the possibilities that could happen when he turned Devil Fruit users into Pokemon Trainers. If the effects were great, then he might search for Devil Fruits to strengthen his crew members.

"Bunny, please dive into the sea," Okami said as he approached the edge of the ship. "Come on, don't be shy."

Bunny's eyes widened and stepped back. "But Boss, I'm a Devil Fruit user and I'm weak to seawater."

"Don't worry, we have pokemon right under the waters if you're afraid of drowning. Something is bothering my mind and I need you to confirm this."

Bunny wondered what was his relation to the things that were disturbing his thoughts. He climbed the platform and jumped down despite his doubts. Being a Devil Fruit user, he expected to feel helpless once he was submerged into the sea but the opposite happened. Surprised, he floated in the water but his strength stayed on his body. "Hey! My weakness is gone! I can finally swim in the sea again!"

Okami chuckled when he verified that his suspicions were correct. "Good! Stay in the water for thirty minutes." He then looked sideways and said, "Mackie, pick him up after the time is over. If he tries climbing up the ship before then, blast him off."

After that, he shifted his gaze to Michael, asking, "How about you? How do you want your pokemon to help you?"

Michael was in deep thinking as he mused over what he wanted to do in the future. When he was done, he gave Okami a serious look and explained, "Boss, I want to have a pokemon that can complement my swordsmanship."

Okami recalled the lists of pokemon he had and analyzed who among them could perfectly enhance the capability of a swordsman. After a lot of deliberation inside his mind, he summoned Scyther and replied, "This is a ninja pokemon who specializes in speed and flexibility. A deadly threat that can make even the strongest opponent falter."

Michael observed that the pokemon was imposing enough for his taste and he agreed to his suggestion.

At once, Okami repeated the process and Michael became a Pokemon Trainer.

Okami did not waste his time any longer and redeemed Gastly, Hoothoot, Natu, Heracross, Sentret, and Aipom. The dazzling lights due to the summoning dissipated and the six pokemon appeared before them.

Hoothoot was an avian Pokémon that resembled an owl with a round body. Most of his feathers were brown, but his belly was cream-colored. The most prominent part of his body was the large, red eyes encircled within black rings. However, he would typically only stand on one foot at a time and alternated between the two at speeds too difficult to track with the n.a.k.e.d eye.

Natu was a mostly green bird with a nearly spherical body, and accents of red, yellow and black. She possessed brightly colored, yellow-and-red wings with thick black stripes. Her wings were small and not fully-grown, thus making her unable to fly, although she could hop onto trees and shrubs.

Heracross was a bipedal, beetle-like Pokémon covered in a blue exoskeleton. There was a long, pronged, crossed-tip horn on his forehead, indicating that it was a male pokemon.

Sentret was a small Pokemon covered in brown fur. He had long, dark brown ears with dark pink interiors, beady black eyes, and a small mouth. Even though he was capable of standing on his hind legs, he typically moves on all fours just like what he was doing right now.

Aipom was a purple, monkey-like Pokémon with a three-fingered hand at the end of her tail. Her face was disproportionately large compared to her body due to her round ears. Atop her head was a long cowlick, which indicated that Aipom was a female. Unlike her feet, Aipom's arms were simple, purple stubs.

A black, spherical Pokemon, which was surrounded by a purple haze, laughed hysterically when he realized that he was surrounded by other pokemon. He looked around and disappeared when he saw Okami, only to reappear right before him and opened his pink mouth widely, revealing the two visible fangs. "Boo!"

Okami raised his brows. "You can't scare me, you prankster."

Gastly's expression became gloomy and floated towards the other pokemon.

Okami unsummoned the rest of the pokemon except for Hoothoot and Gastly. He wanted to turn the owl pokemon into their official time clock while Gastly was in-charge with making things within the ship more lively.

After he was done, he shifted his attention to Michael and asked, "So, how does it feel to become a Pokemon Trainer?"

Michael gripped his sword and jumped as he slashed upward, creating a series of afterimages before him. He followed it up with a downward strike, his body falling fast on the floor. He laughed when he found out the difference in his strength and replied, "Very good. My speed and hand coordination increased, which improved my sword handling as well."

"Did you talk with Scyther?"

Michael nodded. "I've learned a lot of things from him and I can't wait to practice. Please excuse me, Boss."

Okami let him go and informed Mackie that it was time for him to pick up Bunny.

Mackie transformed into Fearow and swooped down as he grabbed Bunny and flew back to the ship.

Bunny was drenched all over his body but he did not feel angry. It had been many years since he felt the cold seawater on his body without getting uncomfortable and he thoroughly enjoyed the experience. With a smile on his face, he bowed his head. "Boss, I can say that this is the best decision that I have ever made in my life. Thank you for letting me able to swim again!"

Okami understood why he was reacting that way. Even though the Devil fruit users were powerful, their glaring weaknesses could hamper them. Being unable to swim was a major setback for someone who was living in a world filled with seawater.

"Good for you. Anyway, have you contacted your Pokemon Starter?"

"Yes. Ditto explained that my weakness was gone because of the balancing effect between the Devil Fruit and Pokemon Essence inside my body. Not only I can still activate my Zoan Rabbit form whenever I want to, but I am also a Paramecia type because of Ditto's skills. As if it was not yet enough, it told me that I can also fuse both powers into one and become a Devil Trainer, whatever that means."

Okami grinned and patted his shoulders. "Then go on and train well. Report to me your findings so we can record it for future reference."

"Sure." Bunny excused himself and went to the open deck to start his training.

Okami felt that everything was going smoothly and headed to the bow of the ship. "Let's see what they can do without my help."

He opted to waste his time inside the Captain's office located at the stern. Time passed by as they did what they ought to do for the day. Nighttime came and they went to their respective rooms after eating dinner.

Okami never neglected his daily training on his conquest to become stronger in this world. Early dawn, he was already doing his exercises in a nearby island. He knew that he needed to exert more effort if he wanted to activate more tails when in his Zoan Animal form. Right now, the highest that he could achieve was two tails.

He frowned when he realized that the body weights were not doing anything to him at all. "I think it is time to replace it with a heavier one."

After killing some more animals within the island, he teleported back to his quarters and took a quick rest. He cleansed his body and changed into new clothes before going out of the captain's office.

As soon as he reached the main deck, he smelled the meaty aroma that came from the kitchen. "Ah! Good, classic barbecue!"

He walked through the wooden steps and arrived at the open area right near the forecastle. The place was already crowded with his crew members and their pokemon.

Hoothoot perched atop the foremast, ignoring Gastly who was messing with him.

All of them greeted simultaneously once they saw Okami approaching their direction.

Okami smiled and responded by waving his hands. He grabbed a nearby chair and sat down, asking, "Are you prepared for today?"

Makino clenched her fists and raised it. "Hah! I've been pumped since last night. Together with my brother, I bet our group will be the first one to finish the task."

Mackie snorted. "I don't think so. Even though Glen is an old man, I can't deny the power he has. With our sea-and-sky combo, I believe we will be the fastest one to complete the assignment."

"They say dumb people always fail in the end, unless they are covered by the luck of the goddess," Troy refuted while fixing his Pokeballs onto his Pokebelt. "Intelligence is the key. With that glaring truth, I know that my team will be the one to do the task efficiently."

"Are you saying that we are dumb?!" Makino pounded her fist on the table, destroying it completely.

"Makino, control your temper. The replacement charges will be deducted on your next salary," Okami said nonchalantly.

Mackie snickered. "Ain't it the truth?"

They continued bickering with each other until Glen was done preparing breakfast.

Once they were done eating, Okami called their attention and reminded them about the rules before commanding them to spread out.

Makino looked through the telescope as she balanced herself while riding Pidgeot's back. "Target confirmed."

Michael felt uneasy because it was his first time to fly at a high altitude. He gripped at the feathers to avoid falling and shouted, "Are you sure?!"

Makino nodded as she took out one of the wanted posters in her pocket. "Doreen the Bear. 10,000,000 Beli reward. They're currently looking at us right now."

"What are we going to do then?"

"Let's make sure to greet them first before anything else," Makino answered as she took out the two Pokeballs from her waist. "Prepare, bro!"

Michael shook his head. "Do what you want. You're the boss here."

Makino grinned and instructed Pidgeot to descend closer to the sea. When they were several meters above the ship, she shouted, "Doreen the Bear, surrender or face your retribution!"

A towering 7-foot dark-skinned man with a jacket and ragged pants on his body gnashed his teeth. "Puny ants! Who are you to disturb my sleep?!"

"We're pirate hunters! I'm here for your head, sc.u.m!" Makino refuted without a care for his imposing appearance. "Did you enjoy killing your innocent victims?"

Doreen cackled for a long time before he replied, "Of course. Ants are meant to be crushed! And you're going to be next!"

Makino chuckled and flipped her middle finger. "I am dangerous! We will obliterate your ship."

The rest of Doreen's pirate crew positioned themselves behind Doreen and began throwing insults against the duo.

"Surrender?! You should be the one to surrender to us! Your body can serve us well!"

"She's a beauty! Why not turn her into our slave?!"

"Hah! A girl dares to threaten us?! Did your parents drop your head on the ground?"

"Your choice." Makino grinned and raised her pokeballs. "Bro, let's nuke the ship from the sky."

Michael frowned. "What do you mean?"

Instead of replying, she jumped down, targeting the ship's main deck. When she was a few meters above the ship, she transformed into Snorlax and used her Armament Haki while summoning her two pokemon - Snorlax and Kangaskhan. At once, they hit the ship's deck like meteors falling from the sky, creating massive cracks on the ship.
