The President's Lover is a Fighter

When Chi Lanying caught up with Lu Fang and the others. The man asked, "What were the reporters asking about?"

Lu Fang already knew what went on behind the glass doors of the hotel. His bodyguards have already reported it to him, but he wanted to get Lanying's story. 

"Ah, Mr. Lu, they thought I was Mrs. Lu… It is such a compliment to be mistaken as her," said Lanying. 

Hanxi was about to react when Lu Fang stopped him with an arm against his chest. He shook his head at him and directed his gaze back to Lanying, saying, "Forgive Hanxi, Lanying. You do look different today."

While Alfred tried to hold his chuckle, Hanxi was firing up in anger. Gabriel was also taken aback, but seeing his father and Lu Fang seemingly have unity in their reaction, he assumed there was more to the story. He pulled his father away for a quick chat to confirm, and when Alfred put a finger on his lips, he ultimately knew what it meant. 

Entering her hotel room, Chi Lanying's face was blushing. She acted like Mrs. Lu, but there was no violent reaction from Lu Fang. He even prevented Hanxi from giving harsh comments about her. 

She quickly called her father, excited to share the news. She tried to call him using her personal mobile, but she had not activated its roaming features. She used the company phone instead. 

Lanying: "Hello, dad."

Chi Zhong: "Lanying, how did it go?"

Lanying: "Dad, I think Lu Fang likes me."

She narrated how her morning went and how Lu Fang appreciated her make-over. She said, "Dad, I think there is a chance that Lu Fang might see me as a woman!"

Chi Zhong was silent for seconds but soon said, "Lanying, this was not part of the plan, but if you are successful in winning his heart, then it is even better. Our money problems will be solved instantly."

"Yes, dad. I am ten years younger than Andrea, he must see me more attractive than her," Lanying replied while looking herself up in the wall mirror. 

"I already got the money from Clifford Adams. They absolutely believed you were Lu Fang's wife. Keep at it, Lanying, we got ourselves easy money and you might even get Lu Fang."

Later in the day, Lu Fang, Alfred, and Gabriel had a meeting with the executives at the transport group headquarters. Lanying naturally came with them. The executives heard of talks that Lanying was Lu Fang's wife. One of them asked, "Mr. Lu? Is she your wife? She seems very young?"

Lu Fang merely said, "What do you think?"

He switched to another discussion, avoiding the topic altogether. He made sure not to deny or confirm anything. 

When they left the building, the employees that had taken a glimpse of Lanying made gossips around the office, covering the youth of Lu Fang's wife. They were not able to confirm her age, but it was obvious by her face and body that she was still very young. 

Some employees posted Lanying's photo on social media as she entered the building and walked around the office with Lu Fang. Lanying also made sure to walk side by side with the man, so everyone will get the same impression.

As their day came into a close, Lanying gave flirtatious smiles towards Lu Fang, hoping their trip to France would result in a romantic affair. 

While Lanying was thrilled with the idea of getting into a relationship with Lu Fang, in a private home just outside of Paris, Clifford Adams reported to Anges their recent progress. 

"Anges, it's confirmed. Lu Fang's wife is already in France. I saw it in the news and overheard from the employees at the company," said Clifford while looking at the back of the wheelchair where Anges sat. 

"G-g-good. I-I w-will g-g-get m-my re-v-venge," said Anges as her mouth trembled. Although she had woken up, her brain's functionality was never the same. She had also lost most of her muscle control, that she could no longer walk and her entire body constantly quivered in each movement. 

Clifford sat on his legs in front of Anges and said, "Do you really want to do this? You only have half a million dollars left and we are still going to pay for the men we will hire to do the job. On top of that, the chances of success are slim. Lu Fang is heavily guarded. I am sure his wife would also be surrounded by bodyguards."

"I - I don't p-plan t-to l-live, b-but be-fore I end m-my l-life, I - want h-his wife to s-suffer!" Anges gasped after giving her last words. It was long enough to give her difficulty in breathing. 

Anges has never seen Andrea up close. When she was locked up at the Neptune Trader, she had only seen her from the surveillance cameras, which was not clear enough for her to make-out. Especially since it had been around two years when she and her husband had fallen from grace. 

Clifford let out a heavy sigh. Scheming and retaliating was not his cup of tea. In fact, he tried to avoid conflicts his entire life, but he had considered Anges to be his own child. When he saw her in a state of coma, he was heartbroken.

He heard about how Bertrand had kidnapped and put in prison many lives. He knew it was not right, but he also felt it was wrong for Lu Fang to punish Anges into a vegetable state. He did not know if he was being biased, but all he knew was that he had committed himself to help Anges get her justice.

Clifford let out a heavy sigh and said, "very well. I will go contact the kidnappers now to take action."

Back in China, the real Mrs. Lu was listening in to the conversation of Lanying and her father. She asked herself, "Who is Clifford Adams? Task, tsk, tsk. This is another Megan in the making… but she seems worst. A twenty-year-old mistress wanna be. The world has gone mad!"

She immediately reported this to her husband, and Lu Fang forwarded the same information to his sister-in-law.

Li Wen came back to Lu Fang, saying, "I found a bank account under Chi Zhong with a deposit of a hundred thousand dollars, but the money came from a certain Arthur Caron. It could be an alias… Lu Fang, we should observe the Chis further. They are our key. If they really are connected to Clifford Adams, the Chis are the key to finding Anges Duval."
