The President's Lover is a Fighter

Chapter 87 - She is Happily Engaged

The moment Andrea stepped outside, Lu Fang became distressed. He was massaging his temples thinking of what to do. When he noticed that it had been more than 5 minutes that she had gone, he followed to check on her. She was nowhere in sight. He then went to the ladies room and opened each cubicle but found no Andrea.

"Andy? Andy?" He started calling out from where he was standing but no one heard him.

He took out his phone and began to call her number, however, all 3 attempts were routed to voicemail. He then tried his best to console himself. 'Calm down Lu Fang! You just met her father. She would not just disappear after all this.'

Andrea was a mystery to Lu Fang, all he knew about her were the names of her siblings, her adoptive father, and their contact numbers. It was not too long ago that she had started to open up to him. If she wishes to leave him, how easily it could be for her to do so. 'She even ran away from Alfred, how much more from me. If she decides to leave me, I would never find her.'

Lu Fang asked the security personnel on the floor but they only recall Andrea heading to the direction of the elevators. So, he decided to check the lobby and took his private lift bringing with him the two other bodyguards.

The elevator ride seemed like the longest he had ever had. His heart was racing and his hands began to sweat, but just as he arrived, his phone rang.

The security and the receptionist at the lobby were stunned to see their president sitting on the floor with his hand on his forehead while taking a call. "Andy, where are you?"

"What do you mean, where am I? What are you doing in the lobby?"

"Andy, please. Please tell me where you are?"

"I am at your office, where else would I be? Come back up. It's already late."

The man was beyond relieved seeing her sitting on the sofa of his office that he immediately approached and pulled her towards him. He hugged her so tight that Andrea felt being squeezed making her complain, "Are you trying to kill me?"

"I love you, Andy. I can withstand anything, but if you leave me, I will break."

It dawned to her that the man thought she had gone AWOL. She then held his arms and pulled them down to loosen his hold before saying another word, "How do you plan to fix this?"

She looked at him straight in the eye and notice they were slightly red. She then wondered if he cried as he headed to the lobby.

While her eyes were fixed on him, the man explained in detail how he intended to slowly get the Shens uninvolved in their business. The strategy included her helping out with the project proposal aside from being always by his side. When he was finished, Andrea agreed that it was feasible and she was willing to work with it.

"I'm sorry, Andy." He held her face with both hands and placed his forehead against hers. "Babe, I can't promise, I won't disappoint you, but I swear to make up for every wrong I make."

There were a few seconds of silence before she finally spoke, "Okay... Let's go to bed. I'm tired."

After taking a shower the couple snuggled in bed. Although Lu Fang was embracing Andrea, he felt she was still being distant, not saying much and only acknowledging his statements. He was about to ask her again but she suddenly spoke.

"Nancy Davies, my foster mother had me kidnapped in an effort to break me and Gabriel apart."

"What?" The man was in total shock of the revelation.

"Gabriel, my ex-fiancé, is my adoptive brother."

"What did you say?" At that point, Lu Fang's mouth seemed to have fallen on the floor out of disbelief.

Andrea began to explain their family set-up to him and only then that he understood. She also told him about how exactly she and Gabriel broke-up.

"I felt that even the closest people to me can afford to hurt me that way. I became afraid to trust others. I am frankly afraid that you might betray me the same way."

"When you gave Mian the opportunity to get close to you, it made me wonder if you will be like him - "

"Never, Andy. Never." he stopped her from finishing her words.

Andrea then looked up to the man and asked him to swear, "Fang, promise me. Let us not be in this same situation ever again."

"I'm sorry, Andy. I promise."

The man pulled her to a tighter embrace before kissing her passionately that night. Now understanding her fears, he vowed such circumstance will never come between them.

Alfred Davies arrived at his mansion still feeling lively from his short-lived visit. He now had more than one reason to visit Beijing after meeting Lu Fang. He just needed to find the opportunity to speak to his wife about Christina.

At night, Nancy had called him over for supper. She began to question where he had been while slamming her utensils against the plate. She had obviously learned, somehow.

Alfred turned to his son but he denied it, "It was not me dad. I swear."

"Tell me honestly, Alfred, did you go to see Andy? I told you many times, I don't want her interfering in our son's life. He is now happily engaged to Taya! Are you still planning to bring her back home?"

"Mom, please." Gabriel protested. "So what if Andy comes home? It has been a long time after all."

"Yes, that's right! Andrea will no longer cause any problem between Gabe and Taya. She is happily engaged to a handsome businessman in China and I have already given them their blessing to marry. With the way they show affection towards each other, they may even get married before Gabe!"

Gabriel's hands began to shake from what he had heard that he dropped a glass of water on the floor. 'Andy is getting married? She has forgotten me?'

He was suddenly in a daze and when he realized this he excused himself from the table as his parents to continue to argue about Andrea. When he found himself in the front lawn of their mansion he made a phone call to one of his father's men.

"Tell me exactly where my father went to today? Find out for me where I can find Andy."
