The Princess And The Demon

Six months have passed now, Six months since her father brought her to this place, Sara first stupidly thought he would take her back with him to the castle, introduce her to her family as his own child, she dreamt of her new life over and over since her father first told her they were leaving the tower, she happily agreed, she never liked her life in there, and after the last accident and the whole demonic gate ordeal, it became unbearable, she couldn't hide her happiness when she knew she was leaving, She imagined her new family,Her step mother and three siblings, What would it be like? How would they react? Will they accept her? Even if not, Sara was willing to work so hard and try everything to get their love and acceptance, She will, she will adapt to her new life, make a lot of friends, be the princess that makes her father proud, be a forth good child to her step mother and a reliable sister to her siblings, she would be nice and not cause any of them any trouble or discomfort, they would like her eventually... And even maybe, just a small maybe, she can find what they call... love? That charming young man who is going to ask her to dance, than kiss her lips smoothly and swing her off her feet...

Sara smiled bitterly and looked at the place she was in, an old shack at the edge of the dark forest, So isolated that no human come near it, only her father visit her twice a week, and sometimes less, he brings her books and food and clothes and spends the night with her then goes back to his life leaving her to feel even more lonely..

Why is father hiding me? she always knew that she was an illegitimate child, It didn't take a genius to know that, plus not her step mother nor any of her siblings shared her features, she was the daughter of another woman, So what? Even illegitimate children are allowed to live by their family's side, They were not given any status or inheritance but she didn't want any of that anyway, all she ever wanted was a family, So why is her father so ashamed of her existence?

Maybe it was because of her mother, Sara thought, Was her mother a bad woman? Was she a p.r.o.s.t.i.t.u.t.e that seduced the king and climbed his bed and now he is ashamed by the fruit of one night mistake? That can't be, her father rarely talked about her mother but when he did, his voice was filled with love and miss and sorrow, So why is it? Why did he dump her in this place and hide her existence since she was a newborn?

Sara felt like she needed to cry, but that was all she did for the past six months, her eyes were dry, and her heart was numb, even crying became a luxury she couldn't afford..

It has been six months now since she left the holly tower, six months since she talked to another human but her father, the scary dreams and illusions stopped hunting her since she came to this shack, she was able to sleep quietly and peacefully, but never happily, even when her father visited her, the thought of him leaving her behind in the morning and going back to the palace without her kept bothering her, Nevertheless she always kept a pleasant smile and attitude around him, because if it wasn't for her father, she would have gone long crazy...

It was midday, it has beeb raining non stop for the past couple of days so she wasn't able to go outside the shack, it was okay to roam around the shack in daylight but totally forbidden to go out in darkness, after all, this shack is only few meters away from the dark forest known to be haunted with demons and beasts, she heard their savage howling many times but for some reason she was not afraid, according to her father, no demon can come near this shack, it was protected by Gods..

Sara wore her cape and held an empty basket and a bucket, she needed some water from the river and maybe she could pick up some fruits or mushrooms to make some soup for dinner, and since it was raining for the last two days, maybe she will get lucky and grab a fish or two...

Sara walked in the woods silently, silence was her companion after all, This wasn't a place anyone dared to visit, it was a place both demons and humans evade, and strangely even wild animals, she never saw a predator even though she was sure they were there, not that she wanted to see one, she was safe this way, lonely, but safe..

Sara made it to the river, and as she hoped, it was full of fish, she took her cape off and rolled up her sleeves and the lower part of her dress, her silky milk white long legs reflected the sunlight as if they were mirrors, she stepped inside the water and started to catch some unlucky fish with a sharpened stick, it was something her father taught her in their very first weeks in here, she learned quickly and it wasn't long before she was able to catch five big fish, more than enough for lunch and dinner, and better yet, she managed to pick alot of mushrooms and berries on her way, she was done with her task much earlier than she thought and she had nothing else to do..

Sara stared at her face in the water for a while, she was used to see admiration and l.u.s.t in the eyes of servants, and even her father said she was beautiful, yet she never met another female but herself so how can she know what beauty and femininity looked like...She read once in one of the books she wasn't supposed to read that men admired anything with b.r.e.a.s.ts thus she didn't really trust their opinions, not wanting to dwell about it she came in terms with being average...

How can anyone be considered beautiful with such dirty hair and body? Sara thought, indeed she didn't bath for a while and she was a bit dirty, she took off her dress and jumped to the water to wash her body...

Busy washing her body and playing in the water, Sara failed to notice the sharp rocks on the bottom of the river and the irregular depths, she was too engrossed in enjoying the cold water and chasing the fish while rubbing her silky white perfect body, She felt a d.e.s.i.r.e to soak herself in the water, so she did, she took a deep breath closed her eyes and dived in the water, it was peaceful at first but few seconds past when the demonic red eyes suddenly flashed in Sara's memory...

Terrified, she tried to pull herself back but she was not a swimmer and a sudden current pushed body to a deeper area in the river... Sara tried her best to save herself, she moved her legs and arms but she didn't know how and only resulted in her sinking deeper, she felt like her lungs were about to explode.. she helplessly thought this was the end of her life, fear taking over her, when she couldn't hold her breath any longer and her body took a big inhale but only water came in giving her horrible sensation of her lungs burning, it was so painful she couldn't keep her mind up...

The rest of her memories about this accident were foggy, she remembers being pooled out of the water, then strong arms took her back to the shore...
