The Princess And The Demon

"Let us get you out of here now" Henry wondered if it was okay to go on with the demon girl, after all, he was taught in a very young age that demons were dangerous deceiving creatures that dressed as angels to hunt their preys, looking at the girl in front of him, he couldn't say she was exactly an angel...she was beautiful indeed he couldn't deny that, but he grew up surrounded with beauties so it wasn't something he was easily affected with, and how can a one be with such a mother and sister, the girl here, had long brown hair that cascaded in waves, fair skin, actually too fair, he never saw someone that white, her features were delicate, a mixture of beauty and simplicity, but her deep red eyes were the opposite of that...

Her eyes gave it all about her, the kind of person she was, strong, iron willed, incompromising, smart and just, a rare combination of characteristics for a girl, he thought to himself...

"Are you gonna stare at me all night or are you going to move your ass? ", not to forget about her unreachable rudeness ..

Henry followed the girl,not because he fully trusted her, but because it was his only and best option, if she wanted him dead she could have done it already or at least let the two wolves like demons finish their job, but she didn't, she stepped in trying to save him even when the wolves wanted to hurt her, noticing the blue marks on her neck he couldn't help but ask...

"Are you alright? "

Rima gave him a questioning look, not knowing what is he talking about...

"Your neck, that is not a light injury" he pointed it out, wondering if he should offer to take her to his doctor for a check up and treatment..

"Oh" Rima was indeed surprised by this stupid man's concern, "This is nothing, don't worry" i had worst, she continued in her head...

The walk was silent again, but it seemed that the road they were walking was the right one, the trees were atleast becoming less creepy..

"You are even more annoying when you don't speak ",where did that come from, Henry asked himself...

"Go ahead, ask what do you want to ask" ,she looked at him with a bored expression...

"You may find me intruding my lady" Henry warned her..

"I guess we already passed that" She replied with her sweet smile

"Alright then, my most urgent question for now, is why did you help me and why are you helping me now? "

"And who said i am helping you? maybe i am just saving you for tomorrow's supper" Rima replied amused...

"Let us just say that i'am an optimistic person who likes to think positive"

"Are you now, no wonder you get yourself in so many problems"..Rima said with a chuckle

"Okay i will answer you, but first, do you know why we feed on humans on the first place "

"I have a feeling that you are not going to like my answer"

"one way to find out"

"because.. ahum.. you are evil" Henry replied with uncertainty, that was a dumb reply but it was all he learned growing up, and he couldnn't really come up with something else...

to his surprise the demon girl stopped and looked at him with a weird expression, something that held pain and sorrow, with a smirk she said "is that what do you think? "

"No, it is what i have been taught since i a very young age, but honestly, i think there is more story to it"

"care to hear it? " Rima asked to see him nod...

"I understand if you find this story to be unbelievable ", Rima said while trying to read Henry's expressions, after all, what she had told him was the exact opposite to everything he learned and believed in since his childhood, not just his, it was the solid truth to every human being...but in a way, it made more sense than the holy council bullshit, it even explains how could a human and a goddess produce a baby... the image became clearer in his head even if he didn't believe in it totally...

"So you mean to tell me, that if demons did nott feed on humans, they will die" he asked unsure of this particular part...

"yes, it was a part of the curse"

"but why aren't you eating me than? "..Henry asked the girl sitting next to him, they have already reached the edge of the forest where he can go in his way safely but he stayed to understand, on the other hand the demon girl felt somehow compelled to clear his doubts about her race, and her..

"I have already eaten, and, i hate greedy demons like those two, a life is a life no matter what and it must be respected, most of us only feed once a week when it becomes a necessity, but some, like the wolf demons, are too corrupted and bloodthirsty, most of the attacks on your people are done by them"

"and isn't there a way to, stop this? " Henry asked the girl who was now staring at the night sky...

"There is, but it is very very hard and, i can't do it alone, no one can do it alone" ....

by the time Rima said this, she felt a warm hand on her cold one, she looked at the man in surprise, his eyes had this iron determination..

"Than let me help you..."
