The first reason I adapted so easily in the Sage’s Study was that there were so many people looking after me. It turns out that Mister Dave was one of the so-called great sages here. My teacher’s teacher’s teacher, it was a distant relationship. But Mister Dave directly asked the other sages to take care of me, and thanks to that, everyone accepted me.

The second reason was that I was a cute child. Young age sure had the advantage of looks. People who stayed here were usually a little older.

Basically, sages must have separate research after graduating from the academy to move into the Sage’s Study. The Sage’s Study gave a lot of support to those who came in to study, and hence sages flocked more and more.

They were usually people who are passionate about their own research, so they did not even think about raising disciples. Even if they raised disciples, they did not take care of them while staying here. They come and go, so immersed in their own research that it was a pity to spend that time on discipleship.

In the eyes of such sages, I was like a granddaughter or closer to a daughter. Too small to be dismissed as a nuisance, so they can’t even treat me ruthlessly. Sensitive people also fell for me when I showed my specialty, my cunning cuteness and harmless childlike expression.

So I was treated as the youngest disciple of all the sages and loved in the Sage’s Study. It was to the point that there were people like Uncle Popo who make time to give snacks even in the middle of a busy day.

Was it because my adaptation process to the Sage’s Study was easier than expected, or was it because I had done a lot of studying although I adapted well, but I did not felt homesick. It was even better as Father took vacation to visit me once in a while.

The only thing that was a little upsetting was Kir. Kir seemed sad for my departure, so I sent a letter, but there was no reply.

At first, I thought the letter must have been lost due to distance, but neither the next nor the one after bore a reply.

At this point, I thought it was obvious that he was deliberately not answering. The most annoying thing in this world was for him reading and not replying my letter. Even when I send messages on a messenger in my previous life, I would be pissed off when people read and didn’t reply.

I felt so angry that my body was shaking. How much I had been taking care of Kir in the past, and he simply turned around coldly just because he couldn’t see me in front of his eyes.

Apart from that, I also had trouble writing letters to Kir. In fact, I was so busy that I couldn’t afford to pay attention to Kir. Miss Katie used to give me tremendous assignments with her grandma-like benevolence.

So I visited the library today to find reference books. The library belonging to the Sage’s Study of the sage, every time I came, the name was still ironic.

“Aren, you came today too.”

The librarian, Mary, recognized and welcomed me.

“Yes. Today’s assignment is political diplomacy.”

I pretended to ask for help. Mary was also one of the people who were weak for me. She was the person I meet the most, so I started a relationship with care.

And she shouldn’t be taken lightly despite being a librarian. The Sage’s Study librarian. She was a competent person who was able to easily find the book that the sages wanted. Rumor had it that even Mary will one day fill the position of the great sage. To have such a talented person on my side.

“Oh my, which side?”

“The Taylon Kingdom side.”

Today’s task was to summarize the contents of the political relationship between our Empire and the Taylon Kingdom.

“Ah, it’s because the Crown Prince and the princess of Taylon Kingdom are getting married this time.”

“Really?”

I was a bit surprised when I first heard the news. Even so, it was not something that touched me, but it was just an emotion that made me feel that way.

“If you live in the capital, you have to listen to rumors. It’s been a while since it was announced. Taylon’s delegation will arrive soon. Are you not Hafterry’s disciple? How can you be nonchalant like that?”

When Mr. Hafterry was mentioned, I pursed my lips and put on a sullen face.

The saddest thing about coming here is that Mr. Hafterry was no longer my only teacher. After coaxing me to go to the Empire together, Mr. Hafterry threw me into the Sage’s Study and took up a professorship at the academy.

Knowing that, I felt betrayed at first. However, as I heard later, there was a rumor that Mr. Hafterry had accepted the professorship in order to push me into the Sage’s Study. So I couldn’t blame him. Instead, I felt sorry and thankful. It gave me a desire to work harder.
