The Resurrecting Overlord

Chapter 26 - Nothing Can Hold Me!

The cultivator guards charged at Dong Xian without hesitation. They detested Demonic cultivators the most, since to become a Demonic cultivator, they had to blacken their Qi heart with unforgivable sins. The more thicker one's Demonic Qi is, the more harmful deeds they have done. With how thick this man's Demonic Qi was, it was obvious he was a one of a kind type of fiend!

"A demon like you needs to be killed to protect our families and the citizens!" Spears were thrusted at Dong Xian from everywhere. Since the spears were magically enchanted tools, it penetrated into Dong Xian's body and started separating his body.

Dong Xian's body natural reaction was for it to explode into tendrils, before grabbing the spears and pulling it out. Dong Xian was surprised. This was a new ability that his body was exhibiting. The guards were absolutely horrified. What was earlier only a Demonic Qi emitting cultivator had become this. A writhing mass of tentacles. Their hearts beat faster, and did not notice that the tendrils had already slithered away from the wall.

Dong Xian had experienced so much pain when he was hit with the spears, that he could not condense his disguise any longer. He had to find a place to recuperate in the Empire first. It was only after he had gained back his human form will he be finally be able to find Yi Lian to find some more new manuals.

The first place he headed for were the drains, where not many people would go. Coincidentally, Dong Xian noted that there was an abundance of Demonic Qi there. It would aid him well in his recovery. As he entered the drain and condensed back into himself, the drain suddenly closed with shutters falling down everywhere.

Dong Xian saw what was happening and tried to escape. The sounds of explosions rang out as his body fired spikes rapidly to break the shutters. However, it was to no avail. The shutters refused to budge, and even began actively attacking the spikes. Dong Xian quickly retracted the spikes that came from his body. Even his new ability that he discovered could not break Tai Empire's magical enchantments.

Since there was no use to breaking out with brute force, he turned to see the source of the Demonic Qi that was used as a lure. Inside the sewers, many people were locked behind cages. The cages were caked with filth and the water beneath them turned completely yellow, with a strong stench of ammonia. Most of them were mumbling and cackling to themselves, while some of them kept yelling, "Die, die die die!" or "I want to get out of here. You think this mere cage can stop so and so?"

All of them had Demonic Qi emitting from them, as if they were once vicious and blood loving cultivators. Now, they had degenerated to being less than animals, with chains siphoning away their Qi and maggots eating them from inside out. Their bloodshot eyes and their disgusting hygiene made everything look worse.

Suddenly, the walls started projecting an image on itself. Dong Xian could hear somebody clap, and the sound of clapping echoed through the chambers. The prisoners started to shake violently, as if they had gone insane. The chains were rattling violently, but did not break at all. A smile appeared on the wall.

"How do you like my trap? You filthy demonic cultivators dare to try and infiltrate Tai Empire? All of you are all so stupid, falling into the trap immediately." A masculine voice said those words.

The walls then began displaying the owner of the voice. Prince Ai Ling of the Tai Empire showed up on the screen. He was the prince who was in charge of defending Tai Empire, as Dong Xian remembered. "Hmm... you look like Dong Xian from the Li Manor. No, you are Dong Xian from the Li Manor! No wonder I found you familiar. You have fallen to the Demonic Path? Such a shame. We will have to wipe out the Li Manor now. They have been tainted by the Demonic Path."

"As for you, you will be trapped here to power our free Qi supplies. Don't even think about escaping!" Ai Ling warned Dong Xian, before he just disappeared from the screen.

After hearing this warning from Ai Ling, it did not really affect Dong Xian. He did not have the same relationship to his family as the previous Dong Xian, and would not sacrifice himself for them. It would take too long to reincarnate again. Still, it was dangerous to be here, since he could be killed anytime Prince Ai Ling wanted.

He had to find a way to escape from this hellhole made for the demons that reside inside the city. First, it was better to start recuperating from the injuries he suffered. As he tried to absorb the Demonic Qi, the chains appeared from the walls and clamped harshly onto his arms.

The chains started to absorb the Qi inside his body, and siphon it to Tai Empire's public supply. Dong Xian smirked, as the chains continued to siphon from his body. Unknowingly, the way the prison drain was designed had provided a way out for him. He wanted to laugh and see the expression on Prince Ai Ling after he had seen how Dong Xian escaped.
