The Resurrecting Overlord

Dong Xian leapt up onto a shophouse's roof. He was currently away from where the shacks were, but could feel Li Yun's explosive movements shaking the earth itself from here. Running on the roofs of the shophouses would allow him to have a jump platform into the inner walls of Tai Empire.

As Dong Xian ran away into the roofs of cluttered shophouses, Li Yun was tracing him down like a bloodhound. His cultivation technique had been the Chaotic Bloodhound, which allowed him to trace down a person's scent with maximum accuracy at the cost of their mind. This cultivation technique was also very vicious, needing people to be tracked down and eaten to grow.

Li Yun has also grown to have explosive strength and unbelievable endurance, running on the ground and causing craters. It was not long before he reached where Dong Xian was, and leapt up onto the rooftops.

By then, Dong Xian has already ran far away onto the rooftops. 'Swish Swish' sounds were created as he travelled at high speed. His transcended body also helped with his stamina. It was a pity that his body was breaking apart due to the high velocity he was travelling at. He had to slow down because of it.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" Li Yun snarled like an uncaged beast, crushing the shopkeeper's or inns fragile rooftops. As a result, people had awaken and were watching the spectacle that was going on. They could barely make out Dong Xian's figure, as his body was closely matching the night sky. Even though Li Yun possesses superior speed than Dong Xian, he was constantly delayed whenever he fell down as a result of the roofs falling in.

As Dong Xian reaches near to the empire's walls, Li Yun just jumped back onto the ground, crushing through everything in his way while moving. All the merchants and shopkeepers initially wanted to chase after him for destroying their properties, but stopped and shook in fear after they realised it was Li Yun they were seeing.

Dong Xian got desperate as Li Yun got increasingly closer to him. He was at the very edge of the jumping platform now, and he had to execute this jump perfectly in order to pass through the magically protected walls.

He gritted his teeth and pressed his legs on the rooftop, before springing up with a high, imposing force. The surrounding cultivator filled audience could only see him leaping, before several seconds later, where a sonic boom affected their ears. It distracted that from Li Yun, who had jumped onto a roof too, and leapt using his bestial instincts.

Dong Xian saw the beast like appearance of Li Yun flung at him, and he took the initiative to strike first, in order to delay the attack from Li Yun. However, Li Yun only gave out a vicious smile, even as Dong Xian penetrated his c.h.e.s.t with his fist. He used the chance to clamp down onto Dong Xian's arm. "Use oneself as bait to lure the enemy!" Li Yun said through gritted teeth.

Dong Xian smiled when he saw Li Yun clamp down onto his hand. This was an appropriate time for him to reveal his true form. Li Yun found himself clamping onto nothing a moment later, and a disgusting substance filling his mouth. As Dong Xian moved backwards nearer to the wall, he mouthed out "Goodbye." The Demonic Qi inside Li Yun's mouth was intensely compressed. It began to immediately corrupt his inner meridians, causing him to suddenly lose all his strength and fall down onto the ground.

He began frothing out blood foam as he was continually attacked by the Demonic Qi. Still, his Soul that had formed had began purifying the Qi inside him, helping him to recover his body rapidly.

He sweated a bucket for the first time in his life. Not like his life would be any longer now that he failed his mission. He was told that Dong Xian had a mortal body! How could the intel by his informant be wrong? It was simply impossible, impossible! He must get the antidote for that poison. He deserved to live longer than this!

Li Yun took in a sharp breath in the cold night now that he had regained his rationality. The night air was as cold as the metal dart buried in his neck. He turned around to face the sniper who was hidden carefully in the branches. Indeed, the prince had prepared carefully!

However, since he was going to die, he might as well take down the person who had blackmailed him. He was about to prepare himself for his ultimate, Canine Killer Zone, when another dart hit him.

Li Yun fell down onto the ground instantly, laying on the crater he had created. He sighed, and at his final moments, he thought about how he should have not associated with the prince for that noble title in the first place.

Meanwhile, Dong Xian, who had successfully landed onto the wall, was surrounded by many cultivators. "Guards! We have an unidentified cultivator here! Possibly hostile!" A commander on the wall shouted.

Dong Xian's Body was trying to repair itself and form a human body again. However, the commander realised that it was Demonic Qi that was being emitted. "Charge! He's a demon in human form!" he yelled out to the guards again.
