The Rise Against The Evil King

Two months passed by.

The wagon was going towards the West. It enters a large city. A man was sitting inside the wagon. He peeps out of the curtain and realizes that he actually reached the capital.

Just like before, it is crowded and buzzing. Everyone is leading a happy life. There is smell of foods all round. The man's stomach growls.

He has struggled to come here. He couldn't eat or sleep well. Fortunately, his three sons were very sensible and didn't bother him all their way till they reached here.

His heart is broken. Whenever he closes his eyes, he sees his dead wife. He lost his way to live. Now his heart is only filled with revenge and rage. He wants to kill them. Kill those barbarians who destroyed his life, his happiness, and his little dream. More than everything else he wants to avenge the death of his wife.

But first, he has to fulfill his wife's last wish. He has to take his children to the Emperor.

Then he can seek revenge.

At last, he reached his destination: The castle. He has so many memories here with his beautiful princess. His eyes became wet thinking of those days.

He wanted to go inside but he is afraid. He doesn't want to face the Emperor. He doesn't have the courage to go in front of him.

He was once a loyal soldier who was assigned by the crown prince to become the princess's bodyguard. But in the end, he betrayed. If he didn't do that, probably she didn't have to elope with him and she would still be alive.

Thinking of that, the man's heart fills with atonement.

Suddenly, he sees an old woman coming out of the back door of the castle. This door is used only by the maids.

'Is she a maid?' He wonders.

He slowly walks towards the woman. "Excuse me, ma'am."

The old woman is startled. She looks back and says, "What is it child?"

The man sees that she is a normal maid of the castle. He shows his third son who is in his embrace. "Can you do me a favor?"

"What is that?" She asks kindly.

The man requests, "Can you take my children to the Emperor?"

He heard that the crown prince became the Emperor after his father died.

"The Emperor?" The old maid cannot grasp what he is trying to say.

The man replies, "My children, they are the sons of the princess."

"What did you just say?" The old maid's eyes almost popped out of her sockets

She was waiting. She was waiting for so long.

'But where is the princess?' She wonders. She looks inside the wagon and discovers the other two sons. She is puzzled

"Why are you alone with the children?" She asks.

"The princess… she… died while protecting the children." He says.

There is a ray of glint in the old maid's eyes.
