The Rise Against The Evil King

Chapter 4 - TAKING THEM AWAY

"What are you saying? Such a heartbreaking news!" The old woman shed some tears.

The man's heart wrenches with pain. "I know. It is my fault." Then he offers his second son who is in his arms to the old maid and says, "Please take them to the Emperor. He knows what to do."

The old woman takes the child in her arms. "Ah, what a beautiful child!" She exclaims.

The man bends down to kiss his son's forehead. Afterwards, he returns to the wagon and sees his two other sons one last time and then, he leaves.

He has lots to do. He is a soldier before anything. He won't stop until he finds the reason of his wife's death. He will revenge for her death.

He slowly walks further and further away, not noticing the sly smile and evil gaze of the old maid.

The old maid puts down the child back in the wagon and gives them a vicious look. "The devil lord was with me this time. That's why they fell right into my hands. But who is the real one the devil king is looking for?" She thinks for a while and says, "No matter who the real one is, their fate is already destined to die."

The old woman comes inside the wagon. After that, she glances at the driver of the wagon and says, "Take me to the west city."

In the past, the kingdom Silvata had four prosperous cities and five large villages. The villages are self-sufficient with respect to food. In fact it is more than enough to feed the subjects of the empire. The capital city is situated beside the mountains in the north and the other three cities are in the south, east and west just beside the huge fort encircling the kingdom. Now the kingdom had four countries under its control which made the kingdom an empire.

The driver, who heard nothing of the conversation between the man with the children and the old maid, silently nods. He wh.i.p.s his horses and the wagon starts to move.

The old maid looks at the sky. She sinisterly thinks, 'Even the nature is celebrating my victory. I'm coming devil lord. I'm coming to you.'

She is so engrossed with her thoughts that she never notices a rider following her.
