The Rise Of An Empire

Three days have pass since the Pei Kingdom launch their second attack on Liang pass and during this time, the Pei Kingdom have continuously bombarded Liang pass with no intentions of attacking again anytime soon. There was also a lot of caravan coming in and out of the Pei Kingdom military camp east entrance towards an area that is now block off by a tall curtain to prevent outsiders from knowing what happening inside.

Seeing that his prediction was correct, Gao Liang have started to move his injured soldiers back to Liang city and also slowly moving his army back to the second defensive line where Zhang Liang and Toa Liang are tasked with creating.

Standing on the command tower overlooking the bombardment and the Pei Kingdom camp, Gao Liang was silent and his face was calm while Tuong Liang furrowed his brows as he look at the tall curtains in the distance with a since of the unknown that can really make a person anxious and fearful even for this war veteran.

Looking over towards Gao Liang, Tuong Liang couldn't help but speak up after seeing his lord calm expression "my lord, should we do a complete withdraw?"

Hearing the question, Gao Liang turn to look at Tuong Liang and what he saw deep in this long time warrior eyes is fear even though he is not showing it, as Gao Liang reply "doing nothing is better than acting out of fear my friend. However, if it is to your advantage, make a forward move and just so happen we have an advantage."

"What may that be my lord?"

Forming a grin, Gao Liang said "night!"

Understood immediately Tuong Liang laughed "haha, my lord is wise indeed! We could use the night to infiltrate the Pei Kingdom camp and see what they are up too."

"Exactly, their security was overwhelmingly strong during the beginning of construction for us to infiltrate but after three days of construction without being sabotage by us made the Pei Kingdom lowering their guard. Now is the best time for us to sneak in and get as much information as we could before they finish whatever that thing is."

"Then I will head out now to prepare and will set out right away once night falls my lord."

Finishing what he had to say, Tuong Liang turn around to leave but was immediately stop by Gao Liang "wait brother Tuong."

Confused as to why Gao Liang stopped him, Tuong said "yes my lord?"

With a smile Gao Liang said "please be careful, I need you back safe and sound."

Warm feelings wiled up in his heart from what Gao Liang said, Tuong Liang bowed deeply before saying "I will obey your command my lord."

Soon, darkness descended on both side and at this moment the Liang gate once again open with five shadows moving at a fast speed straight towards the Pei Kingdom imperial army camp. Wearing all black made the group became even more invisible as they blend into the pitch black darkness and a sword attached to their back.

After twenty minute of full speed running, the group manage to reach the outskirt of Pei Kingdom east camp where the tall curtain are located. Once there, Tuong Liang survey the area with a quick look before noticing that the guards are still in large number but the good thing is that they are spread out far from each other.

Picking a target, Tuong Liang signal his men to move out to the left where the camp light is not as bright comparing with the other location. A group of four soldiers was standing guard while looking around with wary eyes. Tuong Liang and his group creep up slowly in the darkness as they get around thirty feet from the guards.

Getting a rock off the ground, Tuong Liang throw it behind the guards to get their attention to focus elsewhere as his group uses the Liang clan skill silence of the lake to silently but rapidly approach the guards while unsheathing their weapons and stab the sharp cold blade into their enemies heart for a quick kill without alerting the other patrolling guards.

Dragging their bodies out into the darkness before returning to the place that those guards was watching over but this time out of the five people including Tuong Liang. Four of them have put on the guards uniform to stay at this entrance to secure an escape route and also to lower any passerby of suspicion. While Tuong Liang have no choice but to continue wearing his black cloth and continue to move forward.

After successfully evading any potential danger, Tuong Liang reached the tall curtain as he went inside and what awaits him is something that shock his very core 'So this is what they have been planning all along!?'
