The Rise Of An Empire

Five days later….

Infront of the Liang pass stood a magnificent army in tight formation and at the very front are Lu Liang and his generals.

Lightly tabbing his horse for it to move forward Lu Liang cup his hand together and said "Father, it is time for us to head out. We will wait for you all at Haizo City before making our push for the entire province."

"We won't make you wait long, make sure to listen to the advices of your men and make decision wisely. Don't want to hear you being routed before I even march out of Liang pass."

"That will never happen father for I am Gao Liang son after all."

"HAHA, good! good! now off you go boy. Time waits for no one."

Upon his father words Lu Liang do a quick bow before turning his horse around to face his men as he ordered "Move out!"

"You heard the young master! Turn about and march!" yelled the officers as the order is being pass down throughout the ranks.

Riding his horse to the back of the army which is now facing the distant horizon Lu Liang mumbled to himself "Mei Yin, we will be able to see each other very soon."

While the flame of war has been lit in the Ji province with Lu Liang and his army marching to their next target.

A distance away from all this was a city that if Lu Liang was here then he would instantly recognize it which is Vukong City! In the dead of night, hundreds of shadows could be seen if one look hard enough moving at a quick pace on the roofs of the houses with soft steps.

They stop a distant away from a big palace observing the guards patrolling the outer area.

All these shadows look the same with black cloth and a sword on their back, but they still have one single different thing about them which is an emblem on their c.h.e.s.t which varies between each of shadow. Some have a picture of a demon face while others have a demon face with one horn then two horns. Out of hundreds of shadows present, only one have a demon with three horns.

"Go…. surround this place and do not let a single fly escape! Kill them all!"

With a single sentence from the shadow with the three-horn demon, the rest start to make their move without delay. Merging into the shadows, they were able to kill the patrols before they can make out why they died as the death itself move deeper into the palace.

Within a room with its light shining brightly from the reflection of candles, a young beautiful girl was reminiscing about the past while reading poetry unknowing of the danger that is coming her way.

"To love at a distance can be torturous, as you always d.e.s.i.r.e closeness to your beloved. But closeness and distance are not only physical definitions of space but also how we understand our heart. So, while the physical distance between us may be great, that space may always be small within the heart. Holding close to the ones we love and trusting in that steadfastness can calm our hearts and soothe our minds no matter how far the physical distance between us. Breaking out of her thought with the arrival of her father, Mei Yin quickly open the door and about to greet him but was shock at what she sees. Her father was fully armored and behind him was the family elite guards.

Not only that but from the corner of her eyes, she sees a shadow move!

"Hmm, seems like I was a little too late…."

"What you mean father?"

"There is no time to explain, keep this letter on you at all times and escape the city towards the Liang clan. They saved us once and was complicated by us but from the report I got, the Liang clan have officially rebel against the kingdom, but they are powerful. At least for the time being, give this letter to their lord. Once he read the content then I'm sure he will know what to do."

Giving his daughter no time to ask further, Sima Yin signal for his guards to escort Mei Yin away immediately. She tries to call for him but got no response, the only thing she see was his back before noticing that people are starting to walk out of the shadows toward him and the remaining guards with the last thing, she heard was….
