The Ruthless Dragon God

Tied to the cart were two cyan hooved water buffaloes which had pulled this cart along the way. These two buffaloes were 4-5 ft in size and had good muscular body. They had dark skin and grey horns similarly like buffaloes.

But their hooves were of cyan in colour and they had better strength with a good water affinity than normal buffaloes. They shook their heads and bellowed out in open showing their dominance.

A man lightly alighted as he walked elegantly into the shop. His clothes though were of a bit expensive tunic but were clean and neat. Looking at the shop he frowned a bit but just shook it off.

Looking at the shopkeeper with slight discontent, "Hmph... Delivery from Royal Turin Foods of Dunedin. The order you placed yesterday for express delivery is here."

The water buffaloes kept swaying their head and bellowing loudly as their owner continued speaking. The distance to Dunedin from here was about 80 kms.

The shopkeeper walked to the back of the cart to see the delivered goods. Rex followed him and saw that a huge boar was kept on the back of cart. It was dead and was skinned leaving only the flesh along with muscles.

There was a small precise slot cut on the dead boar's forehead. It was so huge and heavy that a single guy could not lift it alone. "Um can you help me lifting this?"

The delivery guy just looked at the shopkeeper nonchalantly as suddenly his left eye had lines dividing it into smaller lines and turning his left eye into an complex eye,"Hmph...."

The shopkeeper face lost his colour as he simply hurried back into the shop bringing out an chair. "Sorry sir.. sorry sir. I failed to recognize Mt. Cook standing in front of me. Forgive me sir."

He then brought water and some meat balls dipped in sauce for the delivery guy. The delivery guy turned his eye back to normal as he ate the offered food humming a pleasant tune.

The shopkeeper than placed water bowl for the buffaloes and then walked to back of cart to figure out how to carry the whole boar meat inside the shop.

Rex was watching the whole exchange standing at the side. One thing he figured out from exchange was that if you are awakener and have power in your hand, people will bend according to your will.

"Hey boy! I will give you 50 bucks if you help me bring this boar in the shop." shopkeeper looked expectantly at Rex.

Rex thought a bit, "Make it 200 and I will help you bring that boar meat in the shop."

"That's exorbitant. 200 just for helping to move is just too much." The shopkeeper looked around to find no one out there present who could help him. "All I can give you is 100 bucks at max"he continued.

"Ok I'll take 100 but you have to give me some meat balls too. Deal?" Rex looked at him with puppy eyes.

The shopkeeper thought for a moment before replying, "Deal! Now help me quickly carry this into the shop."

The delivery guy chuckled as he watched the exchange going between them. Rex sat with the plate given to him by the shopkeeper in front of the delivery guy.

"Hello sir. I am Rex. Are you an awakener sir?"

The delivery guy grinned, "Awakener??? Hehehe.... Yes I am an awakener. But we call ourselves cultivators out in the city".

As he spoke a light ball flashed out from his left forefinger as a black beetle materialized out from the light.

Rex blinked his eyes at that foot long beetle which had appeared as the beetle flicked its antennas sensing the air. Suddenly it turned back into a ball of light as the ball flew back to delivery guy.

"Wow. That's so awesome mister. I also have a brother who awakened his spirit beast, Grey Rock Elephant. Due to his awakening he went to study in Seacoast Institute of Dunedin."

Hearing this the delivery guy's eyes brightened as he heard that kid had a brother who was an cultivator. Cultivators were the powerhouses of the society.

Once a person became a cultivator, he would gain power automatically in the society. Strength, money and power are the three things which all humans d.e.s.i.r.e and cultivators have them all.

Building good relations with other cultivators and powerful people, one gains rise in his position.

"My name is Adam Pilot. Though I am just a delivery guy at Royal Turin Foods at present, I will soon become a branch head. We cultivators are the present need of the society and to keep us the company sure gives us a lot of benefits.

Tell me about you Rex, are you a cultivator? Did you have your awakening ceremony yet?" Adam looked at Rex who was of short stature, and was unable to estimate his age.

Hearing awakening ceremony, Rex's face darkened as he saw the yesterday scene go before his eyes. "We had our ceremony quite recently, but I had a Maroon Red Core so I was unable to awaken my spirit beast naturally.

So all I need is now an elemental stone to awaken my beast. Do you know how much it costs to get one."

"Hmmm.... yea. Elemental stone are sold by Fly Fish Enterprises. They are the ones who actually mine the stones and sell them. Rest buy in wholesale from them and sell in retail markets.

If you buy from them you will get it for about 200k of our Z I currency. That's all including taxes and transportation costs."

"Wh.... wha.. what?? 200 grand for 1 elemental stone. That costs like arm and leg." Rex almost dropped his plate from his hands hearing the price.
