The Soul Of Lucifer

Chapter 30 - Dextra - the right hand

"Well, how do I explain this?", the goddess had a confused look on her face and thought for a little. She had no words and showed Sun a virtually created picture of the weapon.

"Here is the result: It has compatibility of 99.98% with your Soul.

The name is Dextra and it's a shapeshifting weapon, but I don't know what it's abilities are.", she explained.

Sun observed the picture. The weapon was in a spherical shape, glowing blue and brimming of energy. Even though it was a virtual image, Sun could feel the cosmic connection to this weapon.

It's like, the weapon existed just for him.

"I need this. I don't know why, but I feel a connection to it.", Sun said.

"I know. But we can't just buy it. The Dextra is an ancient weapon - used even before I was born into the world.", Sylvie said.

"I see - wait. How old are you?"

"1239 years."

"Hm. Wow, but you don't seem to be very wise after 1200 years."

"Huh? This is what you say after hearing my age? Don't you know anything about a woman's pride? Seriously. Have some respect!", she pouted.

"Haha, sorry. It was a bad joke."

"Okay, but back to the topic. The weapon required ancient crafting methods and legendary grade materials. Are you sure to take the time and effort to make the Dextra? I mean, you could use a legendary grade sword. I can craft that for you, but the Dextra requires much more skill - far beyond my boundaries."

Sylvie is a goddess of fate, but her father taught her the arts of weapon forging. She knew the basics of weapon crafting and the proper fire control but never gone beyond this level.

It is already very difficult to create a legendary grade sword, but the Dextra - she knew they would need a highly skilled blacksmith.

The blacksmiths are rare nowadays, so the most difficult part won't be collecting the materials but finding someone who can create the weapon.

"I need this Dextra weapon, but finding someone to craft it won't be easy, right?"

"Yes. We probably need to let a god make the weapon, but the god realm doesn't really welcome any mortal - especially not humans.", she said.

"Let's assume we can find one, but what materials do we need to collect?", Sun asked.

"No, actually 90 percent of the materials are easy to find. The remaining 10 percent will be very challenging. We need a Soul to inhabit the weapon.", Sylvie said.

"Why?"

"It's the basic requirement of the legendary grade weapon. Actually, this is the reason why these weapons are on a whole other level that Soulless weapons."

"What Soul will we need then?"

"Best one would be a mythic lightning beast in the demon realm since only the beast soul can be crafted."

"Ah, Demon Realm and God Realm. I go there with my current strengths it won't be enough to survive.", Sun thought out loudly.

"I think it might be best if we start crafting the weapon after your graduation. You need three years of training here before going to other realms. Strength defines all.", she said.

"I agree, but do I need to fight unarmed like this until graduation?", Sun asked.

"No worries. I have something prepared for you already.", she said.

"Here. Use this one. It's Eric's weapon. I've been preserving this. It's purple grade.", she said and handed it to Sun.

Sun held the guns and felt a connection. The guns are perfectly shaped for a firm grip and very comfortable to wield.

Suddenly, his head felt like on fire and sequences of memories flashed before Sun's eyes.

He saw hands on both sides shooting on a target.

"You are awesome.", a female voice shouted.

The person turned around, along with Sun since he's looking through the eyes of that person.

"Hehe. Of course, I am. I'm aiming to be a mage of justice.", the person said.

...

"Oi, are you still listening to me?", Sylvie's voice pulled Sun back to reality.

"Oh, hm. Yes, I am. This weapon is very fitting. I could get used to it before switching to the Dextra.", Sun said and smiled shamelessly.

"Seriously. Your personality is sure strange."

"It's the way I am!"

"Yeah Yeah. I got that.", the goddess secretly smiled.

Sun dashed forward, jumped and tried out some combos with the guns. After some dashes he tried to shoot a bullet - nothing happened.

"Do I need to fill this with actual bullets?", Sun asked.

"No, just try to infuse it with some magic.", Sylvie said.

*Boom*

"Hey! What was that?", a male voice shouted.

"Is this an attack?", a worried female voice sounded.

"****. I messed up! Let's get out of here.", Sun said and immediately started to run as far as possible.

Sun made a big hole into the wall while infusing the gun with a 'little bit of magic', but he miscalculated his magic strength.

He got the highest magic power score after all.

They got away very swiftly. Sylvie could fly away, while Sun dashed with quick steps. He felt that the physical enhancement was still there, even though he was using the Celestial System.

After reaching a safe place, Sun bought gunbelt for his weapons and went to the library to read on the basics of gunslinging.

The sky was already getting darker, the streets were filled with people and the smell of grilled foods were coming from every corner. Commuters were toasting for a good day at work.

The smell of delicious food reached Sun's nose causing him to look out of the window.

"It's already this late! I need to get to the Warfare Shop.", Sun thought and closed the book he was reading.

____

William, Sara, and Talan were already done with the preparation and waited for Sun's arrival.

"Sorry. I hope that I'm not too late.", Sun opened the door and said.

"No problem. Just on time - we did not agree on an actual timing.", Sara said.

"Come here, I'm going to tell you about the order of events.", William said.

He had planned out this mission for about a week. He already scouted the area of the demon nest for any potential surprising events during the mission and made sure that everything will just go smoothly.

...

"... and then, we will get to the queen like this and finish her off. She's the core of the nest since she'll keep producing lackey's if we don't stop her.", William explained.

The plan is to sneak in from the underground using William's magic and kill off the queen first. After that, they will exterminate any other low-level demons.

This mission is ranked as A mission despite the low levels of the demons. It's very difficult for Demon Hunter's fight in a demon nest. The nest missions are mostly done in groups, so the causalities will be reduced. There are many low-level monsters in the nest and even advanced Hunters will have their difficulties dealing with the many of them.

"Let's get started!", Talan said.

"Sun, did you get everything?", Sara asked.

"Pretty much.", Sun said and touched his gunbelt with this hands.

"New weapon?", William asked.

"Yes, just got today."

"Okay. Looking good. Then, Sara, if you would please.", William gave Sara the commando.

She chanted a spell and the orb in her hand opened a portal to a dark forest.

Talon was the first one to jump in, followed by William.

"Sun, let's go.", Sara smiled at him.

Sun nodded and jumped into the portal. The scenery changed from warm and cozy to dark and cold.

The dark forest felt like another world. Sun could feel cold eyes staring at him from the shadows.

"The nest is there.", William said and pointed to a bright area with his finger.
