The True Queen

"Can you add more pillows?" Anna asked Xiu Ling. She's enjoying herself, having Xiu Ling as her maid for the day. This cousin of hers is really easy to order around, but it seems only to her. Xiu Ling dotes on her too much. Anna smiled, feeling warm in her heart. There has never been anyone who treats her this better.

No one from the Rong family or any friends at that. When she gets sick, she has to take care of herself. She has to crawl to the kitchen to get her own food. There was one time that they left her alone for one day with a fever.

Huh, in the eyes of the people Anna Rong was a doted daughter and spoiled. But the truth is it's only for the eyes. She just realized this now. When things mattered, her father runs away as far as he can, and her stepmom has many things to do. And her white lotus cousin likes to show off her kindness.

No one helped her... but she has Xiu Ling now and her mother. Arthur too and her maid and guards. They treat her like family.

I wasn't a good person before, Anna admits this to herself. She bullies people and hurt them. She's cruel to the point of expelling someone from school because of a minor incident.

She sighed, thinking of her past life and realized that she was like that before because no one has treated her well, and she believed that everyone will hurt her.

She closed her eyes, clenching her fists.

"What's wrong?" Xiu Ling asked. "Is something wrong? Are you uncomfortable?"

Anna smiled brilliantly at her. This time she vows that she'll right the wrong she did from her past life, and she'll get her revenge. This time she'll treasure the people that matter and return everything tenfold to those who hurt her.

"I'm fine. Will my mother come today?" Lately, my mom is always out and can only come here for an hour at most.

"She's busy preparing for your discharge papers. You're finally going to see the world!" Xiu Ling giggled. "What do you plan to do now?"

What I plan to do? Anna thought to herself. Actually, she has everything planned out for a long time. She can imagine what to do vividly. Tears and blood will flow endlessly.

They'll regret every last bit of pain they've given her.

"Anna? Do you plan to come to Imperial University? What major are you planning? I heard from auntie that you're studying business? We can be classmates! I'm sure that it will be easy for you to be selected for the elite class." Xiu Ling busied herself by peeling apples and oranges as she's talking.

Anna only listens to her attentively. She planned on taking up business and joining the Circle. The Circle is her aim, with the power and prestige this group has she can wipe anyone that will stand in her way. As for law subjects, she's taking it as a secret.

"I plan to take up a business course, and we'll be classmates for sure," Anna replied to her. Xiu Ling beamed and hugged her.

"Then, I'm going to be so happy," Xiu Ling hummed her favorite song.

Anna stared at Xiu Ling, thinking that her cousin is so innocent and she has to protect her well.
