The True Queen

"What the hell are you doing here?" Xiu Ling asked Arthur. They're both in the elevator going upstairs- to Anna's room.

"Visiting Anna," Arthur flashed her an angelic smile, and Xiu Ling shivered. This man is poisonous! She stared at him, noting his simple shirt and pants. He's also wearing slippers only but...her eyes didn't miss it.

They're all branded clothes! Custom made branded clothes. Who the hell is this man? Xiu Ling is growing anxious, she bit her nails trying to think of ways to reveal Arthur's identity.

"Who the hell are you?" Xiu Ling asked. Arthur's eyes glittered under the light, and Xiu Ling's heart skipped a beat. She clenched her fists, fighting the urge to bow down to this man. His eyes hypnotize people.

"I'm Arthur Chu, Anna's friend," he replied and tilted his head. He's curious about Anna's cousin. Every time the woman sees him, she snaps at him like a dog. I guess her instincts are right, she has every reason to be wary of me then. Arthur smiled more, it's not every day that he met a woman like her.

Someone who clearly hates him. It's very rare, well, this never happened to Arthur before.

"You have every right to be wary of me," Arthur whispered. It's only the two of them in the elevator, and for Xiu Ling, it's moving too slow. He moved closer to her. Xiu Ling shivered, it felt like a wolf is eyeing her and she's the lamb for slaughter.

"What do you want? Stay right there!" Xiu Ling pointed at Arthur. She stood straight and puffed her c.h.e.s.t out. She's trying to intimidate him, but Arthur laughs.

"You're like...a rabbit ready to be eaten," Arthur moved a bit closer.

Xiu Ling gasps, "I'm right about you! Ah! You're a crazy bastard!"

Arthur chuckles. "Am I now? I don't think so. I'm a simple man doing what I can do."

"You! Stay away from my cousin. She's pure and you- you have bad intentions," Xiu Ling announces. They stare at each other, there eyes throwing daggers as if it can kill them. "You're a carnivore."

"Yes, and I plan to eat you," Arthur whispered seductively. A devilish glint appeared in his eyes. Xiu Ling is fascinating.

Suddenly, the elevator quaked, and the lights blink. Then, the elevator stopped working, the lights shut down.

"What's happening? Is anyone there?" Xiu Ling shouted. She's scared of the dark and enclosed spaces. "Help! What's happening! Is this a terrorist attack? A kidnapping? I have lots of money, get me out of here!"

Xiu Ling pounded the elevator hysterically. She almost collapsed on the ground, her voice becoming smaller.

"Stop that," Arthur said. The darkness is slowly creeping on him. It feels like something is trying to capture him. He's breaking out in cold sweat. His back wet and hands are clammy. Places like this are his nemesis.

He's having difficulty breathing.

"Shut up! How can you be so calm? We're stuck here, and we don't know when they'll let us out," Xiu Ling stated, her voice shaking. She felt like fainting because she's so scared.

"Does being hysterical help us? You?" Arthur asked. He's barely holding on to his consciousness. Arthur knows that he can't fall here. If he does... he can't imagine the disaster that will follow.

"Bastard, this is all your fault!" Xiu Ling snapped at him, then, the elevator shook again. "Ah...ah!"

Xiu Ling moved fast and hangs to Arthur like a Koala. Her hands on his neck and her legs around his waist. "I'm so scared."

Arthur's body turned stiff, and his body slowly sliding to the floor.

"Weh! What's wrong?" Xiu Ling asked and tried to talk to him. "Why are you cold? Why are you wet? Hey! Hey!"

They have fallen to the floor, and Xiu Ling is on top of Arthur. She picked up her phone, and there's still no f.u.c.k.i.n.g signal. She pointed it on Arthur's face.

"Oh, my God! Don't die on me! Don't you dare!"
