The Universal Villain

Chapter 126 - Operations

"There still is no sign of Shen interfering in our operations." Sitting down on a swivel chair, he had his legs up on top of the table in front of him. He continued. "Ichigo, don't you think this is a bit worrying?" Across the table was the original protagonist of Bleach, Ichigo Kurosaki. Everything that had initially made his character a tough never gave up role model had been converted.

While he still had the resolve and willpower from before, being directed to overthrow Shen everything else, was locked away. "That's good for us, Shinji." Narrowing his eyes, Ichigo looked towards the holographic globe in the center of the table. Covering its surfaces were different marks and layouts along with territorial borders.

"Our ranks are rising more every day. He could destroy the world when its people were defenseless, unaware, and uncaring. But now that they're being oppressed like this, there's no going back for either group." Looking at the globe alongside Ichigo, Shinji took his feet off the table before slowly standing up.

"That's true, but I would rather avoid a second world-ending event. I just think it's strange he would just let us do what we want like this. I mean, it's only thanks to that mad genius Miyori and the countries supporting us that we can do stuff like this." Focusing on their location, the base Ichigo and Shinji where it was technically just a massive hollowed-out mountain.

Because of all the secret entrances laid out throughout the cities nearby, it was hard to access without the right information but more comfortable to defend. And thanks to Miyori, it had been turned into the ideal base of operations for them.

In the middle of their conversation, someone walked directly into the room, both Shinji and Ichigo were in.

"What is it?" These types of people were part of the population that had awakened spiritual powers. They were not Hollows, Quincys, or Shinigami, but they still had the Reiatsu to match them with their unique abilities.

Greeting both of them, this person, in particular, was in charge of relaying information from the nation supporting them to the commanders.

"In the recent meeting with Shen's representative, we have gotten word that over 5 thousand units are making their way to Japan by tomorrow. Without any of the commanders there, we can't handle those types of numbers." Hearing that, Ichigo looked at Shinji, who in turn smiled.

"Alright, since they made a move first, it's only fair we respond. Send Hiyori, Rojuro, and Mashiro, plus all of our available allies within a fifty-mile radius of the drop zone. Well, ambush them before they can even change the tide in their favor." Hearing Shinji's orders, the man nodded before leaving the room.

"Let's just hope nothing goes wrong before everything is prepared." Saying that with a less enthusiastic tone, Ichigo remained silent as he thought to himself.

Meanwhile, back in the Naruto Universe, the day of reward and promise had arrived. Through constant meetings that Shen himself was there for the entire plan outline he had recommended had been set before him.

They would modify the area behind the Hokage faces. It only had a few entrances and exits. With the rest being pure stone and rock, it was easily defendable. And, of course, they could set traps beforehand. Despite Shen not being threatened immediately by anyone in the room, he had to admit they were pretty smart.

The traps were well placed, and so were the ninjas ready to ambush. In the end, the only problem was that they were explaining their entire plan directly to the person who was attacking. And now that he knew both the location and the setup, he had nothing to worry about. All he had to do was play his part and let the others act on his behalf.

"Does everyone here understand the plan?" Looking at everyone in the room, Hiruzen had just finished explaining everything. On top of the table was a map of the area behind the stone face he was using for reference. Seeing that everyone understood, Hiruzen continued. "Alright, then that's it for the traps and ambush locations."

Pointing to a specific location on the map was a small mark. "This is where our last line of defense will be. The Uchiha with the Mangekyou Sharingan and the ninja the Uchiha Clan itself has lent to us will be here. I don't think I need to say this, but we can not allow the Mangekyou to fall in our enemies' hands at any point."

Even though the Mangekyou itself being a relatively well-kept secret, its power was evident to the people who did know about it. And anyone against the leaf, let alone against the entire ninja world, anyone who had them would be a threat to any nation. Looking toward Shen, Hiruzen spoke. "We hope that you can also be in the last line as a safety precaution."

In response, Shen smiled while nodding in agreement. 'I'm almost going to feel bad about this.' Up to that point, everything had been going smoothly for both sides. And soon, the time had come for things to go into work. Making his way to the area behind the stone face's Shen saw everything exactly as Hiruzne had planned it.

Walking through the rocky path, Shen spotted unactivated paper bomb's, near-invisible wires set up to scroll based projectiles. It seemed they were ready to stop a full-scale invasion. Continuing to walk, Shen eventually reached the main room where the 'final line' would be. Standing there were Fugaku, Hiruzen, and Danzo.

Of course, Hiruzen and Danzo wouldn't participate due to their value to the village. However, they were there to make sure nothing went wrong as it was being set up. Spotting Shen on arrival into the room, Fugaku and Hiruzne greeted him with only Danzo acting as cold and untrusting as ever.

Looking around, Shen's eyes eventually landed on the three different Uchiha clansmen remaining silent. "So they're the ones with the Mangekyou Sharingan?" Fugaku nodded as he spoke. "Yes, when I told them that their presence in the Clan was putting it at risk, they volunteered themselves before I could even speak."

Seeing them all standing there, Shen gave off words of encouragement. "Well, don't worry. From what I've seen, as long their numbers don't go over the limit, we should be fine." Despite the fact Shen was lying through his teeth, his words did give the ninja in the area a sense of relief. Most of them had never seen the enemy they were planning to fight before.

And they were doing it to protect another Clan's members. If it wasn't for how much the Mangekyou Sharingan was worth when it came to military power, they would never guard the members that have it so heavily. "Well, it seems there is nothing more for us to do than wait." Looking around, the worry in Hiruzen's voice was apparent.

"I still don't think it was wise to use all these resources for such a plan. If we just ki-" Before Danzo could finish that sentence, Hiruzen glared at him. It was rare, but Hiruzen could force anyone in the village to follow his orders when needed. He wasn't given the title God Of Shinobi for no reason after all.

It was also why Shen made sure his 'acting' was top-notch when around him. When it came to everyone, the worst situation was he had to kill them and bury the proof. But Hiruzen took both the first and second Hokage to give Orochimaru the chance to kill him. Even if he won, his cover would be blown just from the preceding fight.

'Well, no matter what happens, it's still the perfect time to attack. The Sannin are outside the village due to Orochimaru being well, Orochimaru, and Tsunade having her phobia. Speaking of which, those guys should be about ready to make their way here.'

As the leaf prepared, however, something else was happening miles away. A large group of figures dressed precisely like those that attacked the Uchiha Clan was standing at the ready.

However, with a closer look and the moon's light shining into them, it became apparent each one of these people was Shen. Or, to be more precise, clones of him that he had created. He couldn't trust anyone but himself to deal with this mission, mostly when his servants weren't around.

Through this, Shen came up with an idea and a secret weapon he could only employ now that he was in the world of Naruto.

He could create soldiers of sorts using his Mangekyou Sharingan's ability, but they weren't invincible at the end of the day. Yes, they could resign if he gave them enough Chakra and continued to do so, but on their own, their only real advantage was the fact their bodies were moldable and that they didn't feel pain.

They were perfect fighters in their own way but in no case good for delicate operations.

However, when he was using his Mangekyou for himself alone, he could manipulate it to make a shield strong enough to block Ryujin Jakka's flames, which are as hot as the surface of the sun. So what would happen if he used them to make a layer of protection around himself?

Well, first of all, it would make him practically invincible when it came to being attacked. But it would also require him always to keep his Mangekyou activated, so the ability never gave under pressure. But he didn't have to worry about his blindness at this point. Once he had the Eternal Mangekyou, he could keep his Mangekyou activated as long as he had the Chakra.

And he had a lot of Chakra. It was precisely for this reason that he spent most of his time resting, letting his clones under the guise of 'The Kariudo.' He would let them keep their Mangekyou's activated along with his ability. And by the time the blindness finally caught up with him, he would have the Eternal Mangekyou by then.

As all of Shen's clones stood there, one of the clones spoke. "Alright, you guys know the drill. Kill as many of them as possible, rack up the XP, steal their Mangekyou, and of course, most importantly, don't use the same powers. We don't need them realizing who we are under the mask, got it?"

Of course, all the Shen's nodded with their typical lax attitudes derived the original. After the brief speech, all of them activated their Mangekyou at the same time without a moment's notice. Soon their skin was coated over with a dark layer. Soon the only physical features showing on their bodies were their eyes peeking through the mask, making them look inhuman.

"Alright, then let's get to it."
