The Universal Villain

Chapter 128 - The Need Of A Snake

"Lord Third, Shen and the Uchiha Head Fugaku have returned." Sitting at his desk Hiruzen looked at the messenger ninja who had just entered the room. He had been worried all night despite the location where the battle was to take place being behind the Hokage faces he couldn't hear anything.

However, hearing of their return his nerves relaxed slightly. "Thank you. Bring them in." The messenger proceeded to leave from the way he came leaving the door open as two figures made their way in. Fugaku on the one hand looked horrible. His eyes made it seem as if he hadn't slept for days despite their last meeting being mere hours ago.

Alongside that, his body was covered in scars and wounds. All in all, he was in bad shape. Noticing this Hiruzen turned his gaze to Shen who was walking in behind him. Shen had a couple of scratches but nowhere near as significant as Fugaku's wounds. It looked as if Shen had at worst got singed in the battle but never attacked.

"Are you two the only ones?" Asking in anticipation Fugaku immediately diverted his gaze from Hiruzen clenching his fist to the point of trembling. "I'm afraid so." Ignoring Fugaku's actions Shen was sure no one else was alive he double-checked in fact. With no one but him and Fugaku being left Hiruzen would take his words as fact.

"On their arrival, they dismantled everything. Traps and ambushes alike failed before they could even be launched properly. Not only that but their numbers were bigger than even I expected." Technically telling the truth Hiruzen turned to Fugaku only to see he was adamant in not talking. "I see so they have taken the Mangekyou Sharingan as well I'm supposing?" Shen simply nodded in response causing Hiruzen's gaze to fall.

"I should have stayed behind… All of those ninja and the Uchiha Clansmen died for nothing. We didn't even manage to…" Hiruzen showed a pained expression which in response caused Shen to speak. "No, if you were there the situation could have been worse. If they had realized exactly what you could do there would be no end to it."

It was then that Shen's eyes narrowed before continuing. "However… I do find the fact none of the traps or ambushes worked very suspicious." Raising his head Hiruzen looked at Shen. "What do you mean?" Shen's voice lowered into a whisper. "Well, I just find it strange is all. I have an ability that is very good for observation and I can see the situation."

Walking up to the Hokage's desk Shen's next words caused Hiruzne to freeze. "From the way, they were moving it seemed as if they knew every inch of the plan you and the elders had developed. And from what you told me that plan was kept confidential even to the ninja participating in it."

Hiruzen understood what Shen was insinuating and it was a horrible prospect. He wanted to immediately deny the possibility but he had to think about it. He couldn't say during a time like this that one of the elders wasn't compromised. And he also couldn't deny that he had a lot of enemies even within the village itself.

Seeing the gears in Hiruzen's head begin to turn Shen felt as if he had done enough. "In any case, I won't state anything else. I have to attend to some things in private and speak more with Fugaku so well be leaving now." Taking their leave the office was left empty along with Hiruzen and his thoughts.

Only brief minutes had passed but at this point, even that was enough to arouse doubt in a person's mind. Hiruzen's gaze turned slightly dark as he spoke someone's name despite the room being empty. In less than five seconds an Anbu Black Ops ninja appeared in front of his desk. "Yes, Lord Third? How can I assist you?"

Hiruzen's voice was slightly rough as he spoke. "I have a mission for the Anbu Commander. I want an immediate search of the area behind the Hokage Faces. If anything is found I want it brought to me immediately no one else. Alongside that, I want an investigation on each Elder and their whereabouts for the next month."

Hearing what Hiruzen had to say, Anbu understood the severity of the situation due to him observing the Hokage's Office at all times when Hiruzen was there. "Right away Lord Third." Wasting no time he left as quickly as he arrived. In the end, Shen's words had the exact effect he wanted them to have.

Having already left the Hokage's Mansions and made their way to the Uchiha Clan's Residence. Before they reached the entrance Shen spoke to Fugaku. "You should rest for the next few days I would feel horrible if your injuries caused any permanent damage." The sarcasm in Shen's tone as he patted Fugaku on the shoulder caused Fugaku's body to tense up.

Afterward, Shen left not giving him another look leaving him to his own devices. The moment Fugaku reached the Uchiha Clan the guardsmen immediately took him in to care for his wounds. However, in his head, the last thing on his mind was how injured he was. 'What do I do… I can't let him get away with what he's done… But if I do something then he…'

Being locked in a predicament Shen felt content. He had successfully gotten the Mangekyou Sharingan along with gaining control over the Uchiha Clan remotely. And as a bonus, he had gone up a level. 'The best thing I can do now is making sure there isn't anything I'm missing.'

Like had stated before once the story reached a certain point he could lose out on a lot. Arriving at the house he was staying in while in the leaf Shen did a quick sweep of the area. He checked for anything that had changed but in the end found nothing. The Anbu he had controlled hadn't been switched out and everything else was unmoved.

With that being the case he entered the house before sitting down on the couch. Even now after that whole event, he could tell his eyes were turning into an issue. He relied more on his other sensory abilities now than his vision due to how blurry everything was for him. "Let's see if this was all worth the effort."

Holding his hand out in the air he activates his Sharingan's ability allowing for his pocket dimension to open a gate. With a quick search, Shen found exactly what he was looking for as slowly a pair of eyes floated out. Keeping the eyes in place with telekinesis Shen closed the pocket dimension.

[Possible Upgrade to Ability Sharingan[Lv 4] has been detected.]

[This upgrade can increase the user's Ability Sharingan to Lv 5.]

[The percentage of this upgrade being successful is 6% based on genetic similarities.]

Detecting Shen's intent and the Mangekyou Sharingan the System proceeded to display three different prompts. "Oh, so I don't have to do this manually." Knowing he didn't have to pluck out his own eyes was a relief. Despite everything he had to admit he still didn't like feeling pain which is why he usually suppressed it during a fight.

However, reading the third prompt caused Shen to raise a brow. "Only a 6% chance of success?" 6% was insanely low even though it did make sense. The more you are related to the person you are transplanting the eyes from the higher the chance of success. Despite him having the Sharingan he wasn't blood bred Uchiha and it was thanks to the System that he obtained it at all.

"If I'm correct even race bonuses do not change my genetics just what I am capable of doing." It was more of turning him into a hybrid of abilities from different races than actually making him that race. "Is there any way for me to change my genetics to raise the percentage of the upgrade?"

[Yes. There are over 200 different techniques within the Shop that can assist you.]

Displaying a list of different Techniques in the shop before Shen's eyes he scrolled down only looking at one thing. 'Why are all of these so damn expensive!' Don't get it wrong he could afford it but he also didn't want to buy them.

Hoarding SP was what had gotten him to where he is now and he didn't plan on spending so much SP when there were other options.

Closing out of the System Shen began thinking over secondary methods he can use. With so many people in the Naruto world, he couldn't imagine there wasn't a single one that could help him. And it was in that instance that the image of someone popped into his mind.

'Out of everyone in this world that immortal wannabe is the only one I can think of.'

Of course, Shen was referring to one of the Legendary Sannin Orochimaru. 'If I remember correctly he won't be found out and exiled from the village until Minato becomes Hokage. I'm sure with a little motivation he can help me in my time of need.' Shen smiled to himself as far off away from the village the man himself was performing one of his experiments.

"Another failure…" In a dark room, Orochimaru was experimenting on a dead body. This experiment differentiated from the ones he usually committed to performing and that was because of Shen's influence. The idea of inhuman beings having the ability to steal people's powers caused Orochimaru to feel ecstatic.

He had been trying to create Jutsu that can replicate such an ability but no matter what he did he couldn't do it. The concept seemed simple but removing someone's Jutsu or even a Kekkei Genkai was impossible for him to do. "Dammit!" Discontinuing the experiment Orochimaru showed a face full of anger.

"If only I could capture one of them I could figure out how they do it…" But from what he had seen they were too strong to be taken down alone. He would need help and assistance from someone strong. Calming himself, Orochimaru decided to continue with his experiments. 'I must have that ability, it must be mine no matter what it takes…'
