The Universal Villain

"Hmm?" Looking up at the spectacle ahead, a man wearing a pink kimono with flowers on its surface laid against a wall as his straw hat covered his face.

With such a massive explosion, everyone in the Seireitei noticed the battle between Shen and Soi Fon. Captain's don't usually get involved in other captain's battles unless it's necessary. But a captain being forced to release their Bankai is a completely different story.

The power of a captain's Bankai can't be underestimated. It could be considered a last resort in some cases. For it to be used in this situation means a captain was in a fierce battle or they wanted to finish their opponent off quickly. Either way, it caused the entire Seirtei to become alert.

'For someone to cause that. And to push her that far...' Raising his head slightly allowing him to see the dark clouds that circled the place Shen and Soi Fon fought. 'I hate to say it but Old man Yama might have been right. This has turned into a bigger problem then we expected.' Standing up from his slumped position, he sighed to himself.

"I guess I have no choice now do I?" His relaxed face disappeared as he looked towards the tremendous cliff edge in the distance, causing his face to turn more serious. "I guess I'll have to go, huh?" Thinking that, he disappeared.

At the top of the cliff, a massive crater could be seen. It had destroyed whatever was left in the explosions wake. As the smoke rose into the air, a streak was falling out of the sky with smoke surrounding it. As it gained speed, it took a moment for it to finally collide with the earth below causing it to crack on impact.

"Damn. I almost died from that!" Gasping for air Shen could be seen on all fours looking as if he had gone through something shocking. When the two attacks collided, Shen had already prepared himself trying to protect himself from the blast.

Still, even with all that his defenses could barely hold up. For a moment, he honestly thought he would die right there and then.

"How the hell do characters in anime survive those massive explosions without a scratch but this alone almost got me killed!" Struggling a bit, Shen managed to lift himself off of the ground. His mask had a chunk of it missing revealing a portion of his face, including one of his eyes.

The pain he was feeling right now reminded of that time he was ganged on by a bunch of hollows but this was a lot more painful in Shen's opinion. Taking a moment, Shen calmed himself down, trying to read his situation. Looking around, Shen saw a barren crater. 'Wait a second why haven't I gotten a notification for Soi Fon yet?'

Spreading out his Ki to sense the area around him Shen indeed felt someone was close nearby. "How could she have managed to survive that explosion!?" Shen alone was a particular case using powers from different universes entirely to survive. Still, he didn't expect Soi Fon to survive that blast as well.

"There is no way she went through that without sustaining injuries." Looking towards the direction he sensed Soi Fon Shen narrowed his eyes as he heard something in the distance. "AAH!" A scream clearly out of pain echoed through the crater. Gritting her teeth, Soi Fon held her right shoulder as one of her eyes remained closed blood dripped down from her face.

In the heat of the moment, she launched her Bankai with nothing tying her down she not only had to take the impact of the explosion but her Bankai along with it. Even ignoring her other injuries, her right arm was utterly destroyed. Using her new Technique, she focused all the energy she could scrounge up to protect her vital areas however, her limbs especially her right arm took the brunt of the impact.

"So your still alive well I guess that's good for me." Soi Fon, who was still experiencing the pain in her arm, shook as she tried to raise her head to look at Shen. "You look like your in pretty bad shape honestly I expected you to be dead, but I guess your not a captain for nothing."

Walking up to her, Shen used his hand to raise her face towards him."You..." Soi Fon finally managed to raise her head squeezing a word through her teeth. The look in her remaining eye as she stared at Shen wasn't like before. It wasn't a look of mockery or confidence it was hate and pure rage. "Oh don't give me that look at least you aren't dead."

Seeing her in that condition, Shen couldn't help but be relieved he was worried she would still have the power to fight in that situation he might have had to retreat. Looking around the area, he found Soi Fon. Shen started his search for her Zanpaktuo.

"Where is it?" Seeing Shen up close Soi Fon spoke again. "If... If you think I'll... I'll..." Trying to speak Soi Fon did her best to continue. Hearing her, Shen looked down at her with an annoyed look on his face. "Ok, that's enough." Pulling back his leg Shen kicked Soi Fon in her stomach sending her flying backwards and interrupting her speech.

Rolling on the ground a few times Soi Fon came to a stop and became absolutely still. With the pain all over his body plus not being able to find her Zanpakuto Shen was not in the mood to listen to anyone rant. Especially the person who was responsible for causing most of the pain he was in.

'Well, that was anticlimactic. But its better than having to fight her again.'

After sending Soi Fon flying Shen finally got the notification, he was expecting since the beginning. "I should be more careful. I can't have her dying on me."

Putting that aside, Shen was expecting the reward for defeating Soi Fon to be quite high. Still, it was even better then he had initially thought.

"Almost one million XP from a single captain!" Shen had gotten tons of XP through farming Hiyori before most likely even more than the amount in front of him now. But that took a lot of effort.

He had to make sure he didn't fight too many soul reapers at once, or Shen would be overwhelmed if they attacked all at once, but he didn't want to waste time either. The thought of farming Soi Fon already came into his head, but Shen suddenly thought back to their fight.

If beating Soi Fon took this much out of him he didn't even want to think about fighting her in Image Training. "I should think about this later for now. I need to find her Zanpakuto."

"Where is it!" Shen had been searching for a while now, and there was no sign of Soi Fon's Zanpakuto. "It wasn't destroyed in the explosion, right? I don't have time to wait for it to regenerate." Taking another look around Shen knew he didn't have much time until someone else arrived.

There was no way anyone would ignore that battle causing Shen to look even more frantically.

"You two sure did a number on this place didn't you."
