The Universal Villain

Not far from the location Shen and the captains were having their battle, Rukia could be seen sitting down while leaning against a wall. She had her eyes closed, but she was not asleep keeping watch of her surroundings like a sentry. Floating not too far behind her were the Ki orbs holding the captains. Since Shen was going to be dealing with the captains, he had to do something with the balls, but his options were limited.

Leaving them hidden in the Soul Society was a no go, and he didn't trust keeping them in the void without him in there as well. In the end, Shen ended up giving Rukia two orders instead of one as he originally planned. The first being to protect the orbs stopping anyone who tries to free them and second being to remove any unwanted guest.

Meanwhile, speeding along the path leading to the temporary HQ, the lieutenants of their individual squads could be seen heading towards their captain's location. Suddenly an intense amount of spiritual pressure fell down on top of them, causing them all to stop in there tracks. "Do you feel that?" Looking up, Izuru's expression got even more severe. "That's Captain's Mayuri's Bankai. It looks like the battle is starting."

"Then we better make sure we arrive on time." Ikkaku said with a grin on his face. Even though they didn't know if they would be of any help with Shen's Void Warriors called off, they had a duty to support the captains. After pausing for only a moment, the lieutenants began to head towards the HQ even faster than before. It was only at the moment did they finally notice a robust spiritual pressure lying dormant ahead.

"All the captains are fighting who's spiritual pressure is this." Rangiku said out loud as they got closer. After running for only a few moments more, the source of this spiritual pressure came into view. Lying silently against the wall, Rukia seemed asleep. "Is that… Rukia?" Shuhei looked shocked, seeing Rukia lying there of all places.

"Hey, look over there." Omaeda, who to the left of the group, pointed towards the two orbs floating not far from Rukia. "Isn't that Captain Byakuya?" Seeing who was in one of the spheres, Momo's voice could be heard as she said in a shocked yet relieved voice. "Its… Its Toshi!" Tears could be seen coming out of the Momo's eyes as her words immediately brought Rangiku and the other's attention to the orb holding Captain Hitsugaya.

"Captain!" Rangiku had a smile on her face as she wanted to rush over quickly but was suddenly stopped by Ikkaku, who blocked her with his Zanpakuto. "Did you guys forget already? We have an enemy in front of us." Listening to Ikakku, they remembered what happened when Shen arrived with Rukia. It was at that moment she was classified as a traitor to the Soul Society and an enemy.

Having their joy and excitement suppressed, they noticed Rukia slowly standing up with her Zanpakuto sheath in hand. Walking into the middle of the road as a cold aura radiated from Rukia as she stopped and turned to the lieutenants only a few meters away.

Staring at Rukia, the lieutenants didn't know what to say. Rukia had always been friendly and bright greeting, almost everyone with a smile. Most of them had even gone to the same academy along with Renji. But now Renji was dead and as they looked at the Rukia before them now.

Not a glimpse of the one from before could be seen. "Ruki-" Just as Izuru was about to speak up, Rukia began to draw her Zanapkuto, forcing all his words back down his throat. In a swift action, Rukai waved her Zanpakuto, creating a line of ice on the ground spreading from the ground to the walls it only then did Rukia speak.

The indifference in her voice was a shock as everyone heard her speak. "None of you will pass this point." Using the ice as a warning and a threat, Rukia didn't say anything else as if she was telling them to try. It only then did one person take a step forward. "If that's the case, then we're just going to have to beat you then." Although no one spoke, they all silently agreed with Ikaku placing their hands on their Zanpakuto.

As much as they didn't want to fight Rukia, she had chosen her path already. They couldn't let that get in the way of protecting the Soul Society. As another battle began in the Soul Society, things in the Human World were also heating up.

Standing next to his father, Ichigo was still trying to wrap his head around what had happened. "You're a Soul Reaper?" Looking at his dad, Isshin sighed and looked at Ichigo. "I would have preferred you learned about this differently, but the situation was getting dire." Isshin was a former captain of the Gotei 13, and even though he was no longer a captain, he still retained his Soul Reaper powers as he lived in the human world.

Lowering his head for a moment, Ichigo looked up at Isshin. "Ya, your right. I do have a lot of questions, but there is only one I want to ask now. Did mom know? Or was she a Soul Reaper as well." Listening to Ichigo's question, Isshin couldn't help but pause for a moment as a smile flashed across his face.

Grabbing Ichigo's head, he began messing up his hair while saying. "You really know how to pick the hard questions, don't ya!" Having his hair rubbed, Ichigo gritted his teeth. "Cut it out!" Punching Isshin in the side of his waist, "Ow!" Clutching his abdomen, Isshin still had a smile on his face. "All joking aside, we have to deal with that thing first. Once we do, I'll tell you everything you want to know."

Listening to his dad Ichigo could see he was serious. Turning his attention back to the Void Warrior, Ichigo's grip on his Zanpakuto increased as its chain metal a clashing sound. "Let's go, Ichigo!" Yelling out to Ichigo Isshin to dashed in first with Ichigo following suite. "Right!" Working the two of them didn't hold back with their first attack.

Attacking together, Ichigo came from the right slashing from above while Isshin came from the left with a strike from below. The father and son duo had fought one another for fun so many times they could work together in almost perfect sync. However, even with their precision and speed, the Void Warrior quickly took a step back, and that one step allowed it to dodge their combined strikes swiftly.

After avoiding the danger, the Void Warrior quickly retaliated. 'It's reaction time is faster than before.' Looking at the Void Warrior, its arms began to wiggle as ten blobs of a void separated themselves from his body five from each arm. "Well, that's disturbing." Looking at this, Isshin prepared himself at the ten blobs began to morph into ten sharp spikes.

Almost the instant they morphed, Ichigo spoke. "Move!" Dashing to the right, Isshin reacted slightly slower, dashing to the left. Having the targets split, the Void Warrior split the spikes sending five spikes to chase after each of them. As Ichigo flew threw the air, he looked back only to the see the spikes were actually catching up. 'Theses things are really damn fast.'

Seeing how he wasn't going to outrun them, Ichigo stopped moving and waited for the void spikes to get closer. As he built of Reiatsu in Tensa Zangetsu Ichio remained patient waiting for the spikes to reach within mear feet of his body before letting the power he built up loose. Swinging his Zanpakuto, Ichigo hit every single spike at once with a wave of Reiatsu.

A wave of black and red mixed together, forming a wall in front of Ichigo. "Got em!" Rejoicing for a moment, Ichigo was shocked as the Void Warrior that he could have sworn stationary on the ground burst through the wave of Reiatsu.

'Why does this thing keep targeting me!'
