"Is that so? Thank you for reassuring me, Duke Gaston ;I'm sorry for inconveniencing you, asking you to explain everything. I had wasted your time."

Lady Melissa bowed her head in embarrassment, and she had just realized how rude she had been acting towards Duke Gaston.

"No, no, it's fine! You can put your head back up, and I'm free all day, so you don't need to worry about me at all."

Duke Gaston had honestly thought Lady Melissa had done nothing wrong at all.

Which was quite unusual for him as he would get angry at even the

smallest mistake.

But for some strange reason, whenever Duke Gaston was with her, he became calm, quiet, and considerate.

Duke Gaston was a man of many things, but he was NOT that considerate, sure he had done some things out of compassion and kindness but never had he gone through such lengths for anyone other than Lady Melissa.

"Here's the menu; you can take a look at it, and we'll order when we're ready."

Duke Gaston handed over the menu to Lady Melissa and gave it to her, giving her a wide grin, surprising Lady Melissa Mendy Shayla.

'He looks cute, smiling like that.'

Lady Melissa Mendy Shayla thought to herself, it was the first time she had ever seen Duke Gaston smile before, and she would bet that it was probably a REALLY rare sight.

"Oh, thank you."

Lady Melissa quickly took the menu and hid her face, suddenly embarrassed by Duke Gaston's smile.

It had flustered her, and her ears had even turned the slightest bit of red.

Though Duke Gaston didn't saw it, he was too busy reading the menu.

Lady Melissa had already known what she wanted to order, the infamous cookies and cream ice cream and maybe the banana split ice cream.

Though she'd probably only order the cookies and cream as the banana split ice cream had looked less appetizing to her.

"I'm ready to order, Duke Gaston; what about you? , Have you decided on which ice cream you would like to order?"

Lady Melissa asked Duke Gaston.

"I'm ready to order as well, and I'll ring the bell."

Duke Gaston took the bell that was on the table and ringed it a few times.

Within a few minutes, a servant was there with a notebook and pen to note down both their orders.

"What would you like to order?"

The servant asked.

"I would like cookies, and cream ice cream with oreo crumbles as the topping and chocolate sauce, please."

Lady Melissa responded.

"Is that all?"

The servant questioned Lady Melissa.

"Yes."

Lady Melissa quickly responded.

"What would you like to order, Duke Gaston?"

The servant questioned Duke Gaston this time.

"I would like a chocolate ice cream with chocolate sauce and sprinkles."

Duke Gaston responded.

"Is that all for the both of you?"

Lady Melissa and Duke Gaston both nodded their heads.

"Alright, please wait for a few minutes, and your order will be served."

And with that, the servant had left, leaving the both of them alone once again.

Although Lady Melissa had preferred to be alone sometimes, the silence was practically killing her right now.

She had become an ambivert in this life, so sometimes when it was too quiet, she would just feel awkward.

Deciding to swallow down her pride, Lady Melissa decided to initiate a conversation with Duke Gaston.

"How are you, Duke Gaston?"

"I'm doing fine, thank you for asking. What about you, though? How are you doing?"

"I'm doing fine as well."

Lady Melissa responded.

And the awkward silence had come back once again.

"How is work? Are you being overworked by the Emperor?"

Lady Melissa asked.

"There's not a lot of work."

Duke Gaston responded.

"Not a lot of work? Your eyebags are lying."

Lady Melissa was concerned. After all, Duke Gaston looked like he was on the verge of dropping dead and just sleeping away all his worries.

"Ah, is that so? I can say the same thing to you, Lady Melissa."

Duke Gaston gave Lady Melissa a sly grin.

And Lady Melissa's heart had just skipped a beat seeing his cute smile once again.

"Lady Melissa???? Hello??? Are you there????"

Duke Gaston proceeded to waves his hand in front of her face, suprising Lady Melissa.

Lady Melissa was shocked seeing hands right in front of her face, only a few feet away.

'No way, don't tell me I had ended up daydreaming in front of Duke Gaston!'

Lady Melissa had internally screamed at herself. She was flustered and embarrassed once more.

"Are you okay, Lady Melissa?"

Duke Gaston questioned.
