With a reluctant sigh Derick allowed Lady Melissa to go.

"Fine, you can go now. But promise me you're going to eat and sleep regularly now?"

"I promise to eat and sleep regularly now."

Lady Melissa quickly exited her room past Derick and ran towards the room Sophia was in.

She barged into the room Sophia was in only to be met with an empty bed with no one in sight.

Lady Melissa's mood dropped almost immediately at the sight of no Sophia.

'Where is Sophia?'

'Is she okay?'

'What if she gets kidnapped?'

Multiple questions filled Lady Melissa's head and she was both concerned and worried for Sophia's safety.

Just as Lady Melissa was about to leave Sophia's room, she was met face to face with Sophia herself.

"Good morning Lady Melissa! How was your sleep?"

Lady Melissa was shocked, and she stayed still like a statue.

Sophia waved her hands in front of Lady Melissa. She was absolutely confused as to why Lady Melissa wasn't saying anything or moving.

"Helloooooo!Lady Melissaaa are you there????"

"LADY MELISSA WAKE UPPPP!!!"

Sophia came closer towards Lady Melissa's ear before shouting at her.

Surprised, Lady Melissa was snapped back into reality and she had stopped staying still.

"OH MY G-O-D SOPHIA YOU'RE OKAY!"

Lady Melissa shouted, as her words echoed across the whole Shayla estate.

"As much as I appreciate and respect you Lady Melissa, could you please keep your voice a little lower?

If you keep shouting like this the whole estate's gonna hear you."

"Who cares?Everybody in the Shayla estate should celebrate you waking up."

"Awww Lady Melissa I never knew you had thought of me that highly, my cold heart is warming up right now."

"I take my words back."

"Lady Melisaaaa"

Sophia let out a whine, and Lady Melissa chuckled in response to Sophia's antics.

"Fineee I won't take them back."

"Yayyyy!"

Sophia let out a shout, celebrating.

"Though I would like to have a conversation with you right now if you don't mind Sophia, are you free right now?"

"Yeah I'm free."

"Let's sit down then, this is gonna be a long conversation."

Lady Melissa and Sophia approached the bed and they both plopped onto it, sitting down on the bed.

"Are you okay?Do you feel okay? Are you experiencing any negative effects on your body?Do you need me to call a doctor for you? Do you want to take the day off for today?"

"Slow down Lady Melissa, I only have one mouth so I can't answer all of your questions at once."

"Sorry my bad."

"Don't worry about it, Lady Melissa."

"I feel okay, and I don't think I'm experiencing any negative side effects on my body.I don't think you should call a doctor for me, I feel perfectly fine. And I shouldn't take the day off, I should be treated like any other employee in the Shayla estate, it would be unfair to the other maids and servants if I get special treatment while they don't."

"Hmm your absolutely right Sophia, I've been giving you so much special treatment these days. And I'm sure rumours will spread about how the Shayla estate treat their employees unfairly if I don't do something about it.

I'll talk about it to the Duke and Duchess tomorrow when they come back home from their business trip,I'll make them change the rules."

"B-but Lady Melissa later rumours will spread that you changed the rules just for me, a mere maid."

"Don't say thattt Sophiaa besides if I change the rules it'll make it more fair for the rest, besides I bet they're all dying to have a doctor check up on them for free when they're sick."

"Wait...Lady Melissa....don't tell me you...CALLED A DOCTOR FOR ME?!"

"Oh yeah I did. Why?"

"WITH ALL DUE RESPECT LADY MELISSA ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? YOU CALLED A DOCTOR FOR ME, A MERE MAID WHO CAN BE REPLACED BY ANY OTHER PERSON IN A MINUTE."

"Now now, calm down Sophia. I called a doctor for you because you're not just a 'mere' maid to me, your my friend and friends look out for each other. Besides I would NEVER replace you, no matter what happens. I will never replace you."

"Awww Lady Melissa you're so sweet!But Lady Melissa what if rumours spread about this?You calling a doctor just to check a maid."

"Oh don't worry about it Sophia, the first doctor I called was the family doctor, so he wouldn't tell anyone, if he did dad's probably gonna kill him."

"Wait...did you say FIRST?Oh g-o-d how many doctors did you call for me Lady Melissa?Wait, no don't say the number I don't want to know."

"Don't worry about it Sophia, it was only 2 doctors.

And Derick's already made sure to not let the second doctor leak anything so you don't need to worry about it Sophia."

"Phew."

Sophia let out a sigh of relief, she didn't want news of this to leak to the public.

It could ruin the Shayla's estate reputation and image.

"Sooo if you don't mind I'll continue my questions?"

"Yeah sure go ahead Lady Melissa."

"Alright, why did you fall asleep so hard that even when I attempted to wake you up, you couldn't wake up at all?"

"Well it was you and Duke Gaston's meeting together at the dessert shop last time and I felt tired, I thought a quick nap wouldn't hurt so I decided to take a nap in hopes that I would wake up before you returned back into the carriage."

"Why were you tired?"

"It was because some of the workload was a little bit too much and.....um Lady Melissa I'm so so sorry for sleeping on the job.

Please don't fire me, I'm sorry."

Sophia went down on her knees before bowing her body completely.

While Lady Melissa was still sitting on the bed, in shock.

"S-SOPHIA STAND UP!

Why are you bowing down?!"

"Because I fell asleep on the job....and because of that something fatal might've happenned, you could've gotten kidnapped or worse murdered."
