The Void Between Universes

Change of P.O.V Emily:

"Emily I love you" when those words left his mouth I felt that my heart beats were faster than any time in my life and I was on the verge of crying.

I looked at him and said with a big smile and a trembling voice:

"Me two" with that I ran to him and hugged him strongly, but just one second after that I pushed him and retreated three steps back.

Alex just stood there frozen, a few seconds later he opened his mouth trying to say something, but I didn't want to give him time to say something that will make me even more embarrassed so I said hurriedly:

"do you want to go home together" I just throw the first thing that come to my mind.

I felt my face was burning up and I couldn't look directly at him.

"O...Ok" he answered.

Even though each one of our houses is in a different part of the city Alex walked me all the way home, we were walking said by said and just talked about many and everything we just talked and that was so great.

I didn't notice before it but at some point Alex was holding my hand, my face get even hotter and I was surprised but I didn't let go of his hand but held it stronger inside.

When I did that Alex looked at me, I was looking down but feeling his gaze I lifted my head and looked at him straight to the eyes, after a few seconds of looking at each other Alex finally smiled and said while looking in front of him:

"I'm really glad that I confessed to you" his voice was soft and gentle.

When we made it home he stood there watching me till I entered before he left.

There is also one more thing, we agreed to meet after school tomorrow so it's a date YAY...

And just like that everything that Emily had wrote about that day in her dairy get erased.

Change of P.O.V Alex:

Separating with Emily I was happy I was so happy that I even forget about the thing the other worlds and all of that there was only Emily in my mind...

It's such a pity that that happiness didn't last long.

I returned home I played with Judy a little, and after having dinner I returned to my room and I lied down on my bed but even then as I was going to another world a thought that drove me crazy with happiness the day before wasn't able to make me forget about Emily.

Anyway I fall asleep and when I opened my eyes again I found myself in a place with no trees no animals nothing except snow everywhere but I didn't feel any cold because I was wearing the dragon set and its effect was somehow unbelievably stronger than before.

I summoned the broken sword and took my first step in that world.

Later I found that that worlds name was Boreas, a world with only one season, winter and that Boreas was another world in the same universe as green star the lone universe.

And just as what happened in green star Boreas also get sealed as soon as I entered it but what i found weird was that not many people know about what happened in green star it wasn't till my one hundred and twenty third year there I found about what happened from a friend of mine in there he said that he heard that while green star seemed to be locked only for one night for them five years passed in green star and in the end he sighed and wandered how many years would have passed in the outside world when Boreas finally get opened.

When I heard what he said I finally found an answer to something that was bugging me the whole time which was if green star was a true world and I spent five years in it why only one night passed in earth, it seems that when the thing sealed green star he didn't only seal it but somehow he even changed time inside it.

I also tried to call the thing but no matter how many times I called him he didn't answer.

Also another thing happened, the fallen stars technique get even stronger the number of swords that I could summon become four hundred and the range of their control became seven km.

That was something that helped me a lot in becoming one of the world's strongest cultivators.

After more than two hundred years in Boreas I finally died it wasn't because of being chased or because of some trick of the thing I simply died in my retribution of passing from an immortality ascending cultivator to a mortality cutting stage the first stage in the deity road level.

Even though I died like that I died with no regrets or resentment in my heart I died with happiness as I finally was going to meet Emily again.

You see even in Boreas a world where beautiful women were everywhere I couldn't forget about her and I simply wanted to see her again.

So I died with a smile on my face and when I opened my eyes again I saw the thing standing there while clapping:

"Wow you actually didn't die in a bad way this time, at least you died a man's death a true cultivator's death"

Seeing how I didn't say anything and just kept on looking at him he added:

"Come on you can't be still mad at me, you should know that I really needed the universal heart and as I said it's not for me alone it's for you to make you stronger"

"You lied to me you sent me to my death to get what you wanted how can that be for me"

"I said it before you only died in green star it's not like you truly died, and I did sent you to another world Boreas was a great world wasn't it"

"Ok ok just send me home" I didn't want to keep on talking with him.

"There's still something to I want to talk to you about" he said with his eyes shining brightly.

"What do you want" I asked him as I had that feeling that whatever it was the thing that he wanted to say wasn't going to be good.

And as expected he gave a creepy laugh and said:

"I want to end our contract"

"En...end the contract why" I asked him, as even though I hated it when the thing lied to me in green star I still wanted to go to other worlds, the number of worlds I wanted to go to was not that small as in my time in green star and Boreas I heard about many fascinating and astonishing worlds, and I wished to see all of them.

"Simply because I want more rights"

"What do you mean by that"

"I need more privilege in our new contract that's all I'm not going to end our relationship just this contract and we will do a new one"

"What do you want"

"Nothing much, it's just when I will ask you to get me something you will get it for me and, you won't be able to decide when the contract will end only I will be able to control that, also I will start a game with you, that's all what do you think than will you accept"

"Of course no, how can you ask that from me" I shouted.

It was then that I knew that the thing was planning for this since the beginning he waited for me to get used to all of this and to get addicted to all of the adventures all for this, but what puzzled me was why did he choose that time exactly and didn't fear that I would simply forget about all what he said.

"Then this means that this is how our contract will end such a waste" he said while surging his shoulders.

"Wait are you going to end the contract just like that" I asked him in panic.

"Well no I'll give you some time to think about it, to day you will return to your world and think about it, who knows something might happen and make you change your mind..." he said with a suspicious tone.

"What if I won't accept what you said?"

"Then our contract will end that it's that simple"

"Ok good bye, and choose wisely"

After saying that he waved his hand and a mass of black fog hit me and I started losing consciousness.

"~~"while being in that state of semi consciousness I heard a voice.

I wasn't so sure if I really did hear something or if it was just my imagination as I was being sent from that red room and my thoughts were a mass so I just throw it to the back of my mind.

As always all the memories that I had about Boreas were sealed so that they won't interfere with my life.

Because of that the first thing that come to my mind was yesterday's confession to Emily and that day's date after school.

Usually I would meet Emily on my way to school but we don't talk a lot and separate after greeting each other, but that day was going to be different, because we had already agreed to walk to school together.

And because of that I kept on turning my head behind me to see if she was there, but I didn't see her.

I even saw Maya and Emily's other friends but except Maya giving me a weird look nothing else happened, and I didn't see Emily at all.

Fighting the bad feeling that I got, I walked to school while turning my head after each few steps but I didn't see her.

When I finally made it to school I saw Adam there he had a worried look in his face and he kept on looking around him as if searching for someone, when he saw me he came running straight to me.

Thinking that he probably was going to ask me about how my confession yesterday has gone 'as I didn't call him because I forget' I was going to open my mouth and say something but he didn't even wait for me to talk as he said with a worried tone:

"Alex did you hear"

Seeing his unnatural behavior I knew that something must have happened so I asked:

"What happened calm down and tell me"

"You know how my father and Emily's are friends" he calmed down and said after a while.

"...Yes" Adam's dad and Emily's are old friend they were classmate but after they grow up Adam's dad become a police investigator, while Emily's become an English teacher, but they still stayed good friends.

Hearing Emily's name being mentioned made me worried but I did my best to calm down and listen to what he had to say.

"...yesterday as we were having dinner Emily's father called my dad and said that she didn't retune home after school and that she had been missing since then, my father tried to help but nothing was found, this morning before coming to school I asked him about it but he said that they still didn't find her"

Hearing what he said my head started beating faster and faster and my thoughts were a mass.

'She didn't returned home, I watched her enter by my own eyes so how can they say that she didn't return home' as I tried saying that to Adam I suddenly felt as if something shattered in my head and a memory from the sealed ones come to me it was about the voice that I heard before leaving the red room:

"Alex help me..." it was Emily's voice.
